Hi Dr.Aimee! :) I'm newly pregnant, week 3-4, Woohoo! I tested my thyroid a few days after Embryo transfer and it was 6.6! Yesterday was 6.2 (when not pregnant its at 2.7) I realize its elevated. Isn't this rise in hormone normal when you first get pregnant due to rising estrogen and hcg? I've also heard that the TSH level can decrease when the HCG rises! My hcg has been doubling. Should I wait until next week to test again to see if its gone down on its own or start poppin' some Levothyroxine right away?! The internet has scared me. Truthfully, I feel great and plenty of energy- no sysmtoms of under activity. Also, my t3-t-4 are normal and no TPO antibodies.
Start treating it with 50 mcg of synthroid. Repeat in two weeks and you can probably go down to 25mcg for the rest of the pregnancy. And congratulations 🎉🎈🍾🎊😊😊

I have had 1 failed IUI and a miscarriage last year due to Triploidy. Moved onto IVF and currently waiting for my FET in 2 weeks. I had PGD testing done (3 normal out of 4 embryos). I'm on Estrofem now, 3 times a day. Do I need to do something extra to help/improve my uterine lining? I'm worried it won't be good enough the next time I go. Also, PCOS related - do you recommend taking Metformin at night or in the morning and does it really make a difference? Thank you so much and please keep posting more videos.
Thank you for being a fan :) To answer your questions: 1. If your lining is responding well to the estrofem, you don't necessarily need to do anything more. However, if it isn't thickening at the rate you'd like here are the things I add: 1. Vitamin E 2. L-arginine 3. aspirin 81 mg As far as the metformin question: I recommend at night and take with a probiotic. Taking it with a probiotic may help with the intestinal issues some women describe.

I took 50mg clomid in Jan and then 100mg in March with no success so far. I have been a little worried about clomid because i have read some really worrisome studies about chromosomal birth defects saying it increases the chances (for example Down Syndrome). Any clear statistics or advice regarding this, not sure if i should continue using clomid if risks are so high. Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot Dr Aimee. I have PCOS, did ovarian drilling, and bilateral salpingectomy .now am on ivf treatment but my Dr gives me FSH injections only. Said due to my AMH was very high. Is there any others drugs am missing? Are we on the right truck.? Been trying for 6yrs with 2failed IUIs.
If I am in my mid-twenties and have no prior health issues, no family health issues and have never had a child, how long would the process take from beginning to end (and hopefully a successful implantation)?
Do you give bcp to patients with low ovarian reserve or avoid due to possibly over suppressing? I'll be doing ivf in the spring and wondering about this vs estrogen priming or another protocol. My day 3 estrogen is always super high (over 200 often). Also can BCP help with ovarian cysts?
@@EggWhisperer I'm 33. My amh is 9pmol (I'm in canada, they told me this was low). Fsh has ranged from 8 to 17 at the highest. AFC on my last cycle was 8. I've had a few functional cysts and told it was fine. We got pregnant after 4 IUIs with gonal f and a trigger. Miscarried at 11 weeks. Dr would like to move onto IVF
Hello doctor I have had clomid on 5th to 9th of my circle and had not seen my period for 27 late then started having brown discharge for five days until today but negative pregnant test.I'm confused and my doctor is telling me to just wait for the real period..Im worried and don't know what's happening
If you are on progesterone, that could be why. Go ahead and stop it if you have a negative test. The other reason is = Clomid can cause cysts. When you have a cyst that is still making estrogen + Progesterone, your period won't start until the hormone levels drop. If you are a patient of mine, I would have you come in for a cyst + hormone level check. Hi Dr. Amy I wanted to ask you if you treat patients out of san Francisco? I live in los angeles and im 40 y/o and I'm currently doing iui with Kaiser Permanente. I think we probably will be doing IVF by the end of this year and I want the best shot at getting pregnant. I have four kids that are all grown and I never had a problem getting pregnant till now at 40. My AMH is 0.03 very low and my FSH is 9.7 although its low I still got pregnant but ended up ectopic and I lost my left tube. Please let me know what you think please.

nandi rhoda yes. Severe OHSS is serious and you want to be safe throughout. It’s good your doc is being cautious

Amie C your young age will work in your favor. Did they do testing of the 11 week pregnancy?
@@EggWhisperer they did not unfortunately. Would having such high estrogen on day 3 indicate a problem with having unresolved cysts?
