I too read this about 25 yrs ago. I read a few of frank peretti books for a few years back then. I still have some. My eyes aren't what they used to be. Glad to find this.
It was about 30 years ago that I also read these books as a new Christian. Incredible that 30 years later, we would be seeing so much from these books happening now.
I read this book in jail when I was 18 (2008) and it changed my life. Even though it is a work of fiction, it does seem to parallel with the reality of our modern systems of social heirarchy.
I too read this book serving the last couple of months in jail and as others here said, this book has added to changing my life. Now I understand why I lost my last little dogs because of my association with the "Dark (Force) Matter"... God has been trying to warn me years ago and now I know why I've lost my four leg best friends.
Just the knowing that praying can chase out/bind demons make me wish more of us would pray for this world.....just think one mass day of praying.....3 days of fasting.....a unified voice calling on the Lord!!!
Amen...You are so right!! Satan and his demons, know at the end of this earth/world; they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, to suffer for all ETERNITY! Satan cannot touch God....so he destroys God's People!! The way to avoid an eternal death in Hell for people....is to accept Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. He died on the Cross and rose from the Grave, so mankind can be forgiven of their sins! You CANNOT and WILL NOT enter the Kingdom of Heaven, with unforgiven sins! Jesus said: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father (God), but...by...Me!"🙏🙏🙏
I read this book and the 2 that followed , starting in 1988. I was around 43 at the time. I had lost my younger brother in an automobile accident in Dec of 1986, and then experienced a divorce, that had caused me to moved 400 plus miles from our home at the beach. I later lost that home because I trusted a family member (father and magistrate for 32 years ) that ask me to put it into his name. All the tragedy and hurt I suffered, made this book more understanding to me. I bought several copies for my mom, and my sister. Neither ever read it, nor did they experience the closeness with God that I have. I know this because I cared for both of them in later years. I am now 75 and I live alone, well not really alone, because God is always with me. I don't need anyone else ! I am enjoying listening, this time, to every word of this masterpiece. All these years later, and often I think about the story inside this book.
I read this book for the first time in 2004. My wonderful friend Damilola Aregbesola lent me the book. I have since read it at least 4 times. Listening to it now makes me remember those days and how much this book impacted and changed my life. God bless the writer Mr Peretti. This book should be turned into a movie.
I read this book about 28 years ago and had my eyes opened to spiritual warfare. I have enjoyed listening to this story again. It is still relevant for this day and age.

My Cousin's wife Sharon gave me this book in the mid-1980s , I was going through a divorce and a battle with drugs, having a very bad time, I drove from my home in Kansas City to my cousin's house in Dallas, Texas, I don't know why I went there or what I was doing but I showed up at Phil's house and he and Sharon took me in, after I had been there for a couple of days they started talking about Jesus bringing me to them , it was like a weight lifted off me, when I was leaving Sharon gave me this book and told me that it was for young adults but that I should read it, I enjoyed this book and it helped me through a hard patch, everyone should read this book
Praise God for this book, but also for the Narrator doing such an awesome job. Each character was developed so well in his voice acting and pacing that it was super immersive.

I had this book a very long time ago when I was young, married and not knowing the difference between being religious and spiritual. In my difficult experiences - I faced my second divorce in 2000. Caught in my own pain and sorrow of things happening beyond control - nothing made sense, even my faith was tested. My heart transformation was indeed moving in a "process" and I am so thankful Christ lead me through the darkness. Today, this book has come to mind. It is with a new sense of awareness and greater appreciation I listen more eagerly to these pages read. Thank you so much for putting this video together.

I've read the paperback twice and listened to it on Audible at least a dozen times. This book opened my eyes to a spiritual realm I knew existed but could never quite truly comprehend. But it is now so tangible to me and has enabled me to know what I'm fighting. Thank you for sharing.

I have not read many books throughout my lifetime, but this is one that I read cover to cover. I couldn't put it down!!! It is awesome to be able to listen to this story.
I read this as a kid, then a teenager then an adult. Now at 46 years of age it’s amazing how spot on it is. I’m dealing with something very similar. This stuff happens, maybe not as dramatic, and angels don’t get their strength from prayers but I do get the analogy, nevertheless spiritual warfare is real. It’s easy for those who have never fought it and come through it victorious to dismiss it. People who are inexperienced trying to explain spiritual matters is like a Toyota salesman trying to sell you a Ford. Peretti has a very good grasp of spiritual matters!
I was in prison in 1990 when I read these series and they impacted my life to this day..i have been out of prison since 1994 and I have been a pastor for many years now and this book is more revealing now more than ever!
I watch this on November 29, 2020, in a plandemic of a virus called CV-19. We know more than ever that everything in the book is more real than the day before. If people really could see in the spiritual realm they'd have no problem believing in God. This guy did an amazing job narrating this book. This is one book that's describing today's events and we're living through hell on earth in 2020! Lord save your people bf things get much worse for them.
By the way, I read this book many years ago. I felt a desire to see if the books:THIS PRESENT DARKNESS AND PIERCING THE DARKNESS ARE ON..... I now know God is refreshing me on the power of prayer ☝🏼in these “END TIMES” DAYS. THANKS AGAIN.

Frank E. Peretti...a 'modern day prophet!' I read this eye-opening, and spiritually stimulating, and informative book about 35 years ago! I had been taught most of my young life about the total truth of the Holy Bible; and this really helped to give me a visual to that truth! 'Satan and his demons/unclean spirits; come to kill, steal, and destroy!' We need the Grace of God, His Salvation through Jesus Christ, by the Power of His Holy Spirit...to cover, protect, lead and guide us; every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year...come what may!🙏🙏🙏
This book was given to me when I was 18 by a couple at my church coz I was going through some personal hardships in my life..I couldnt put it down!!...They really need to make this book into a movie! to show people The Power of prayer, and what it does in our lives..Things change and people are set free from those who earnestly pray ☺️🙏❤️🙏❤️

Reminds me of bethel church in Redding California and all their false doctrines and new age spiritualism mixed with the Bible. The new apostolic reformation is the bad guy teaching supernatural schools teaching false . Love the book read it a long time ago .

Amazingly Vivid example of spiritual warfare. I love that he talks about the armies of God and Satan! There is a hierarchy to both armies. And they're well trained. Remember to evangelize believers! There are a lot of souls out there that are in peril! Prayer, along with reading the Holy Bible, is important to keep a close relationship with Jesus. Talk to Hm. He's longing for you. Remember to pray not only for yourself and your loved ones, we also need to pray for the American people, our government and Salvation for our politicians and for the world and the people in it. Whew, a lot of praying to do LOL Once I got into the book I really enjoyed it! God bless each and every one of us💙

I first read this book and his other "Piercing the darkness" in high school. Needless to say i didn't sleep at all that night, every little noise kept me up: rebuking the dog, cat, a piece of paper etc!... lol, It is a great read. Though its fiction, there is a lot of truth to this in the spirit realm.
"Do you know where everything is" "I'm sure we'll find it all..." "What about the cord to the coffee maker?" "Why do you think I'm drinking hot chocolate?..."
Grateful to find this after so many years! I pray it is released afresh, a revival of sorts to remind us that there are unseen forces at work in this world. We need to be mindful of this and bring everything, I repeat... everything ...to our Lord in prayer. Maranatha ❤

I'm only half way through this but I've been a christian for 25 yrs . We are in a spiritual battle of the end times and fully believe in deliverance and healing and we need the full armor of God to withstand the the enemies devices . But love this book so far . Can't wait to hear it all and the rest of the books. Even though it's fictional characters , it's like real life situations. I've seen both sides of the spiritual realm and it's real!

I just ran through the Genesis Revisited series again with Rob & Zen (2 years later), and did the exact same thing! Wow. I'm 3 hours in & having major '80s flashbacks. Lol. It was the very first novel I'd read after recommitting my life to Christ in my early 20s. Clearly, God is at work here... calling out & strengthening His older army of remnants, beckoning them to rearm & mobilize by revisiting these old books many decades later, so that we ALL get back into this cosmic chessmatch with fresher eyes, renewed spirit & sharpened understanding. It's just like Him to do it this way. Moves & countermoves. Lol. Praise be to The Most High Yah FOREVER!

I read this after becoming a mummy for the first time 30+ years ago. Shortly afterwards, for the first time I saw a full demon manifest in my home, the size of a 3 year old. If it hadn't been for this book preparing me (and Jesus Christ of course) I think I'd have lost my mind. Today I count myself blessed I have spiritual eyes to see. I've seen a few since but I bind and rebuke them in Jesus name. This book reminds me of our world today so much. It was almost a foreshadowing of the things to come. God bless Mr Peretti. 🙏✝️♥️

I read this book also, piercing the darkness as a new believer back in 95'-96,and I had such traumatic spiritual warfare for weeks on end, smelt sulphur in my home at night, didn't understand what was happening really,not recently it was revealed to me.
Currently i have read this book abt 4 or 5 times and this is my second time listening. I know it a work of fiction but it has lots of real world things in it. A guide for spiritual warfare.

I believe if there was a movie made, it would be better to be animated so all the Demons and Angelic warriors are portrayed as they are written in this book. If not I will do it myself!

I have read many books and I find this relatable. Different names, different town BUT the people are real and THE TRUTH of what happens to the human Soul. I have always addressed demon's by their name's. Lust, complacency, hate, jealousy, lies, vulgarity, ect. I enjoy how he described God's Angel's and he make's them real, as they really are. I like the way he puts it all together.
@@mainmanmel I am forever grateful. I was a moderately practicing Christian for 18 years, 4x a week bible classes, retreats, and then full Catholic confirmation... Then two years later, I lost god. I didn't speak to him anymore. I didn't go to church. I had put him to the side completely. And that's where it began. For recently, I had this urge to turn to scripture, after dealing with very uncanny "hauntings" you might call it, all around the same time, every late evening during the witching hour (4-5am). But two weeks ago, it ramped up, and I had no idea what was going on. I left my home and got attacked by a swarm of flies, and couldn't get them away. I had ran back inside, and tried to rest. I woke up at that same eerie time again to my fireplace fully blasting... And when i looked at it, an ember popped up, and smoked, and of this smoke it drew a horrifically nasty image of a gnawing demon with its tongue out, on to the fireplace glass. So I covered it in papers with tape. Then, moments later, the papers and tape were removed and thrown violently to the floor. I covered it again, and it happened again. Now, I had this distant urge to turn to scripture. I didn't know what else to do. So that I did! and not knowing any verses by heart, after i read aloud the first 5 lines or so, BAM, we were OFF! I started rattling them off like I had them all memorized. Louder and with more intensity every moment. How did i know these lines by heart? I had never even finished the bible! I was extremely freaked out. But it didn't stop. I was shouting parables, and verses with perfect grammar and speech. Each demon became harder and harder than the one before it, IDENTICAL to what is told in the book of Matthew and the unclean spirit! And after battling 7 of them, it was over. The last 3, were extremely difficult to wrestle. They were a wicked spider, the goat, and the serpent. And god was there. I was so weak and tired at this point. He spoke to me many words. Many questions answered while I had him there. And at that moment, a permanent cross was etched into my window. And with the final demon, god reached down with his right hand, and grabbed its serpent neck and pulled it away into the clouds. With his righteous right hand, in line with the verse i was saying at the time- Isaiah 41:10. They were a deep chronic pain, bats, a fly, a father and son, a wicked spider, then the goat and serpent. None of them had this feeling of intrigue than the goat. It stared at me, ensuring god was really there before leaving. And at the same time, I had this immense feeling of clarity, that this goat was wholly a part of gods plan, that he was entirely necessary. And now, reading scripture again, this makes so much sense. I picked up a bible the next day, and in tears of joy read about the "unclean spirit" and the seven demons, and the impact of the goat and its dust and pollen preventing new earth growth. That next morning, yellow warblers were on my patio singing for me. And in the new T, they lift up the branches of the dead tree to make a nest for new life. Know what's crazier? Those yellow birds were the New World Warbler! They know when another species tries to lay eggs in its nest, and completely rid any mark of that other bird, and create a new untouched nest for their family to grow. There's much more than I've shared here, some day of which I hope to turn into a story of a lost sheep herder, and his battle with these spirits. I will never lose you again god. Thank you, truly.

I had this book a very long time ago when I was young, married and not knowing the difference between being religious and spiritual. In my difficult experiences - I faced my second divorce in 2000. Caught in my own pain and sorrow of things happening beyond control - nothing made sense, even my faith was tested. My heart transformation was indeed moving in a "process" and I am so thankful Christ lead me through the darkness. Today, this book has come to mind. It is with a new sense of awareness and greater appreciation I listen more eagerly to these pages read. Thank you so much for putting this video together.

I've read the paperback twice and listened to it on Audible at least a dozen times. This book opened my eyes to a spiritual realm I knew existed but could never quite truly comprehend. But it is now so tangible to me and has enabled me to know what I'm fighting. Thank you for sharing.

Just know there is A LOT of creative license taken in writing this story. You can’t take all the descriptions as completely Biblical.
@@prissylovejoy702 descriptions aren't biblical, but it gives one imagination of what goes on behind the scenes that we don't see. A lot of Christians sadly don't realize the spiritual realm in all reality

I actually read somewhere that either Spielberg or Lucas bought the rights in the early 2000's
I read this as a kid, then a teenager then an adult. Now at 46 years of age it’s amazing how spot on it is. I’m dealing with something very similar. This stuff happens, maybe not as dramatic, and angels don’t get their strength from prayers but I do get the analogy, nevertheless spiritual warfare is real. It’s easy for those who have never fought it and come through it victorious to dismiss it. People who are inexperienced trying to explain spiritual matters is like a Toyota salesman trying to sell you a Ford. Peretti has a very good grasp of spiritual matters!
They don’t get them directly from prayers, but God directs them accordingly, if it is His will.
As a 45 year old father of six and pastor of a small, but growing church, I concur.

I was in prison in 1990 when I read these series and they impacted my life to this day..i have been out of prison since 1994 and I have been a pastor for many years now and this book is more revealing now more than ever!

I watch this on November 29, 2020, in a plandemic of a virus called CV-19. We know more than ever that everything in the book is more real than the day before. If people really could see in the spiritual realm they'd have no problem believing in God. This guy did an amazing job narrating this book. This is one book that's describing today's events and we're living through hell on earth in 2020! Lord save your people bf things get much worse for them.

Frank E. Peretti...a 'modern day prophet!' I read this eye-opening, and spiritually stimulating, and informative book about 35 years ago! I had been taught most of my young life about the total truth of the Holy Bible; and this really helped to give me a visual to that truth! 'Satan and his demons/unclean spirits; come to kill, steal, and destroy!' We need the Grace of God, His Salvation through Jesus Christ, by the Power of His Holy Spirit...to cover, protect, lead and guide us; every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year...come what may!🙏🙏🙏
This book was given to me when I was 18 by a couple at my church coz I was going through some personal hardships in my life..I couldnt put it down!!...They really need to make this book into a movie!

Amazingly Vivid example of spiritual warfare. I love that he talks about the armies of God and Satan! There is a hierarchy to both armies. And they're well trained.
Remember to evangelize believers! There are a lot of souls out there that are in peril! Prayer, along with reading the Holy Bible, is important to keep a close relationship with Jesus. Talk to Hm. He's longing for you.
Remember to pray not only for yourself and your loved ones, we also need to pray for the American people, our government and Salvation for our politicians and for the world and the people in it. Whew, a lot of praying to do LOL

I first read this book and his other "Piercing the darkness" in high school. Needless to say i didn't sleep at all that night, every little noise kept me up: rebuking the dog, cat, a piece of paper etc!... lol, It is a great read. Though its fiction, there is a lot of truth to this in the spirit realm.

I'm only half way through this but I've been a christian for 25 yrs . We are in a spiritual battle of the end times and fully believe in deliverance and healing and we need the full armor of God to withstand the the enemies devices . But love this book so far . Can't wait to hear it all and the rest of the books. Even though it's fictional characters , it's like real life situations. I've seen both sides of the spiritual realm and it's real!

I just ran through the Genesis Revisited series again with Rob & Zen (2 years later), and did the exact same thing! Wow. I'm 3 hours in & having major '80s flashbacks. Lol. It was the very first novel I'd read after recommitting my life to Christ in my early 20s. Clearly, God is at work here... calling out & strengthening His older army of remnants, beckoning them to rearm & mobilize by revisiting these old books many decades later, so that we ALL get back into this cosmic chessmatch with fresher eyes, renewed spirit & sharpened understanding. It's just like Him to do it this way. Moves & countermoves. Lol. Praise be to The Most High Yah FOREVER!

I read this after becoming a mummy for the first time 30+ years ago. Shortly afterwards, for the first time I saw a full demon manifest in my home, the size of a 3 year old. If it hadn't been for this book preparing me (and Jesus Christ of course) I think I'd have lost my mind. Today I count myself blessed I have spiritual eyes to see. I've seen a few since but I bind and rebuke them in Jesus name. This book reminds me of our world today so much. It was almost a foreshadowing of the things to come. God bless Mr Peretti. 🙏✝️♥️

I read this book also, piercing the darkness as a new believer back in 95'-96,and I had such traumatic spiritual warfare for weeks on end, smelt sulphur in my home at night, didn't understand what was happening really,not recently it was revealed to me.
This is the beginning of my experience in library in prison... reading is amazing
Currently i have read this book abt 4 or 5 times and this is my second time listening. I know it a work of fiction but it has lots of real world things in it. A guide for spiritual warfare.

I was reading the book back in 2010 in high school. Lost the book but I'm so happy to finally get to finish the story.
I have read many books and I find this relatable. Different names, different town BUT the people are real and THE TRUTH of what happens to the human Soul. I have always addressed demon's by their name's. Lust, complacency, hate, jealousy, lies, vulgarity, ect. I enjoy how he described God's Angel's and he make's them real, as they really are. I like the way he puts it all together.

@@mainmanmel I am forever grateful. I was a moderately practicing Christian for 18 years, 4x a week bible classes, retreats, and then full Catholic confirmation...
Then two years later, I lost god. I didn't speak to him anymore. I didn't go to church. I had put him to the side completely. And that's where it began. For recently, I had this urge to turn to scripture, after dealing with very uncanny "hauntings" you might call it, all around the same time, every late evening during the witching hour (4-5am). But two weeks ago, it ramped up, and I had no idea what was going on. I left my home and got attacked by a swarm of flies, and couldn't get them away. I had ran back inside, and tried to rest. I woke up at that same eerie time again to my fireplace fully blasting...
And when i looked at it, an ember popped up, and smoked, and of this smoke it drew a horrifically nasty image of a gnawing demon with its tongue out, on to the fireplace glass. So I covered it in papers with tape. Then, moments later, the papers and tape were removed and thrown violently to the floor. I covered it again, and it happened again. Now, I had this distant urge to turn to scripture. I didn't know what else to do.
So that I did! and not knowing any verses by heart, after i read aloud the first 5 lines or so, BAM, we were OFF!
I started rattling them off like I had them all memorized. Louder and with more intensity every moment. How did i know these lines by heart? I had never even finished the bible! I was extremely freaked out. But it didn't stop. I was shouting parables, and verses with perfect grammar and speech. Each demon became harder and harder than the one before it, IDENTICAL to what is told in the book of Matthew and the unclean spirit!
And after battling 7 of them, it was over. The last 3, were extremely difficult to wrestle. They were a wicked spider, the goat, and the serpent. And god was there. I was so weak and tired at this point. He spoke to me many words. Many questions answered while I had him there. And at that moment, a permanent cross was etched into my window. And with the final demon, god reached down with his right hand, and grabbed its serpent neck and pulled it away into the clouds. With his righteous right hand, in line with the verse i was saying at the time- Isaiah 41:10.
They were a deep chronic pain, bats, a fly, a father and son, a wicked spider, then the goat and serpent. None of them had this feeling of intrigue than the goat. It stared at me, ensuring god was really there before leaving. And at the same time, I had this immense feeling of clarity, that this goat was wholly a part of gods plan, that he was entirely necessary. And now, reading scripture again, this makes so much sense. I picked up a bible the next day, and in tears of joy read about the "unclean spirit" and the seven demons, and the impact of the goat and its dust and pollen preventing new earth growth. That next morning, yellow warblers were on my patio singing for me. And in the new T, they lift up the branches of the dead tree to make a nest for new life. Know what's crazier? Those yellow birds were the New World Warbler! They know when another species tries to lay eggs in its nest, and completely rid any mark of that other bird, and create a new untouched nest for their family to grow. There's much more than I've shared here, some day of which I hope to turn into a story of a lost sheep herder, and his battle with these spirits. I will never lose you again god. Thank you, truly.
