It’s so sad people’s wedding days get lost in what they feel they ‘should’ have. We ended up eloping and only spent money on the things that were important to us and it felt sooo worth it, so much easier and cheaper and where we invested the money felt totally right because they were the important bits to US. This video is going to help so many women, Allana. Everything you’ve shared has been so special and beautiful. I married my ex in ‘91, and traditional weddings were pretty standard. It’s insane how much the cost of things has gone up. If my person shows up, it’s going to be a shared vow between us. No ceremony, no paper, with tattoo rings, and the knowing we’ll share the rest of our lives together apart from any cultural norm. I look upon any union as a blessing, no matter how a couple chooses to go about it. Love is all there is, all that matters. 🫶🪷
At my sisters wedding our divorced parents got along so well people didn’t even know they were divorced 😂😂 we had no clue which way it would go but I’m so glad they pulled it together for her special day ❤ I totally understand with the healing aspect!

I can relate to how much effort it is to do the least! My husband was 55 and had never been married and his parents are still living. As a mother myself, I felt his mother deserved to witness her son get married (finally 😅). There were also family dynamics at play, but, like you, we just went about enjoying our day and it was wonderful! As a bride who got married on the beach with 11 guests and had our family reception at the hotel steakhouse, I love love love this plan and would never change a thing we did! Love that we got to save money and put any 'extra' we have into the house we just bought last October. Congratulations!

I very recently lost my husband and going through the grieving process with your wedding videos has helped me remember more from our wedding day, like how I ended up wearing a different dress and was barefoot! We had our tiny wedding in our bright living room and it was magical ❤I made his favorite cake in the morning that was our wedding cake and each anniversary I have made it ❤ How we stayed true to ourselves and our Love💕 I love how you talk about healing, and in my experience Love truly is a healing force. Flowers are crazy expensive. That’s why in my country it’s very common that all the couples getting married the same weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) they share the cost of the flowers for the church, and the same flowers are used in all the weddings. Very convenient

I so wish I could pick your brain on how you stayed in the moment during your wedding. I too have divorce in my family and it’s been a big stressor for my own wedding planning. I have this fear that I’ll just be stressed throughout my wedding and won’t enjoy the day because my parents are making things awkward.
We were tooootttaaalllyyy stressed honestly it was eating me up the entire time (my entire life really LOL) and it turned out so great. Recognizing that it won’t be the case for all families and we feel so lucky, but we were so surprised what a day of love good bring for everyone! And no matter what, you can only hope that differences will be set aside to celebrate YOU on YOUR day ❤❤

OMG 😍 I got married 16.09.2023 and my story is almost identical to yours! 🥰 I was pressured into big wedding, expensive dress and all the traditions… but we decided to have a relatively small simple wedding, with only traditions that we wanted, very inexpensive dress and suit, my coworker made our wedding cake, very little flowers and cheap but nice balloons, veil and jewelery and some decor were from aliexpress… after some family drama (yes, child of divorcees) it all worked out well, everybody had a blast and it was one of the best days of our lives 🥰 the one relatively expensive thing was our fotograper, we also care a lot about the photos and the memories 🥰 cant wait for our pictures and video… All the stress from the prep was so worth it, I loved it all and everybody was so happy and families merged nicely 🥰 So happy for you girl ❤️

My dress is the ONE thing I would change about my wedding day if I had the chance. I struggled to find a dress I loved and felt comfortable in. My family and I visited about two dozen bridal stores and I went through 3 potential dresses and was just so overwhelmed. In the end I stumbled across a plain dress in a formalwear store that my aunty (former wedding seamstress) was going to alter for me to look like a dress I fell in love with but was discontinued and did not have my size off the rack. Lo and behold, altering that was not an easy thing to do - I didn't have my completed dress until THREE days before my wedding. If I could redo it, I would find a plain fitted dress with nothing glitzy about it and be happy. I'm super thankful for the effort my family went to help me get the dress I did have, but I feel it could have been a better experience all round. Your final dress was absolutely perfect and I'm glad you were able to find something you were in love with! Congrats on getting married
My daughter eloped the Saturday after your wedding. There were 15 of us in Banff and it was exactly what they wanted and it was simply magical. As a bride who got married on the beach with 11 guests and had our family reception at the hotel steakhouse, I love love love this plan and would never change a thing we did! Love that we got to save money and put any 'extra' we have into the house we just bought last October. Congratulations!

I usually don’t comment but I feel your honesty and openness deserves a feedback. I very recently lost my husband and going through the grieving process with your wedding videos has helped me remember more from our wedding day, like how I ended up wearing a different dress and was barefoot! We had our tiny wedding in our bright living room and it was magical ❤I made his favorite cake in the morning that was our wedding cake and each anniversary I have made it ❤ How we stayed true to ourselves and our Love💕 I love how you talk about healing, and in my experience Love truly is a healing force. You have no idea about your influence. Stay true to your self dear ❤ I happy for you and Dan may your future be long and blessed with growing Love ❤️

Flowers are crazy expensive. That’s why in my country it’s very common that all the couples getting married the same weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) they share the cost of the flowers for the church, and the same flowers are used in all the weddings. Very convenient

I so wish I could pick your brain on how you stayed in the moment during your wedding. I too have divorce in my family and it’s been a big stressor for my own wedding planning. I have this fear that I’ll just be stressed throughout my wedding and won’t enjoy the day because my parents are making things awkward.
We were tooootttaaalllyyy stressed honestly it was eating me up the entire time (my entire life really LOL) and it turned out so great. Recognizing that it won’t be the case for all families and we feel so lucky, but we were so surprised what a day of love good bring for everyone! And no matter what, you can only hope that differences will be set aside to celebrate YOU on YOUR day ❤❤

OMG 😍 I got married 16.09.2023 and my story is almost identical to yours! 🥰 I was pressured into big wedding, expensive dress and all the traditions… but we decided to have a relatively small simple wedding, with only traditions that we wanted, very inexpensive dress and suit, my coworker made our wedding cake, very little flowers and cheap but nice balloons, veil and jewelery and some decor were from aliexpress… after some family drama (yes, child of divorcees) it all worked out well, everybody had a blast and it was one of the best days of our lives 🥰 the one relatively expensive thing was our fotograper, we also care a lot about the photos and the memories 🥰 cant wait for our pictures and video… All the stress from the prep was so worth it, I loved it all and everybody was so happy and families merged nicely 🥰

My dress is the ONE thing I would change about my wedding day if I had the chance. I struggled to find a dress I loved and felt comfortable in. My family and I visited about two dozen bridal stores and I went through 3 potential dresses and was just so overwhelmed. In the end I stumbled across a plain dress in a formalwear store that my aunty (former wedding seamstress) was going to alter for me to look like a dress I fell in love with but was discontinued and did not have my size off the rack. Lo and behold, altering that was not an easy thing to do - I didn't have my completed dress until THREE days before my wedding. If I could redo it, I would find a plain fitted dress with nothing glitzy about it and be happy. I'm super thankful for the effort my family went to help me get the dress I did have, but I feel it could have been a better experience all round.

My daughter eloped the Saturday after your wedding. There were 15 of us in Banff and it was exactly what they wanted and it was simply magical.
