Great review, I love and still wear Drakkar Noir, reformulation ruined it but as for the DNA of the fragrance Rasasi has a release called Amber Alive and it's very close to the old school formula and lasts all day, thank you for doing the work you are with the classics, it's ashamed how such good fragrances get thrown to the side for the next new thing, funny though how the name can be changed and a new bottle and all of a sudden it's a new discovery, like Amber Alive, people are funny 🤷😂
One of my go to vintage’s. Worn Drakkar since it came out, hasn’t changed smell-wise or that I can detect anyway, still takes me back. Legendary juice. 👍🏻
I agree my vintage isn’t that different at all nor does it last longer, but I’m sure if it was a brand new bottle when it came out it might be a bit different?
I remember rocking Drakkar Noir 20 years ago in jr high. Girls would come up and smell my shirt but I was shy and had zero game. I feel like Drakkar Noir is one of the fragrances that has been hit hard by reformulation. It's nothing like it used to be
I never wore this back in the 80s probably because everyone else was wearing it - but decided to pick up a bottle this weekend based on your video. What a classic! Even my 25 yr old son who is repulsed by my old school collection liked it. May have to get a backup bottle or 2. Great content and reviews - keep up the awesome work!
I went today, to buy the Drakkar Noir. When I sprayed it on my skin and a paper, I smelled the first 30 seconds something, but after that the scent disappeared. On my other hand I sprayed the Drakkar Intense and boy was it strong. Still, after many many hours it smells heavy on my hand, but in a good way, I like it. Maybe after I finish this bottle, I'll give the normal version another chance, but I was quite surprised, that the smell just disappeared.
Hmm I never got good performance from Drakkar intense, was not a huge fan. But Drakkar noir does not have the best performance either but maybe revisit it later and don’t spray another scent. Sometimes when I revisit the scent is very strong
Well done, as always. As someone who has been familiar with DK since its inception, the lack of potency in the current formulation is quite frustrating. I really felt like throwing the bottle out the window.
Awesome, I love your videos. Wearing Drakkar Noir today actually. I absolutely do not struggle with the current formulation. Still get at least 7hrs out of it which is amazing for a EDT. No complaints whatsoever.
You can never go wrong with drakkar noir, the majority of ladies love it, but i must confess i only wear the vintage one (i have two 100ml bottles from 1991) it's deeper, a bit more natural smelling and more complex than current formulation. Cheers
I almost bought that in a blue Mercury Store while on vacation this past summer, it smells great but for $230 for the 75ml I thought ehh why when I have so many great Drakkar noir style scents including the great Gucci Nobile
I have two bottles of Noir. A 30ml and a 100ml. The smaller one has white printing on the back showing Guy Laroche addresses in Paris, New York and Montréal. The big one has no writing on the back. And they are slightly different. The smaller is a smoother, more shaving cream type scent. The larger rougher with more oakmoss. I prefer the one with the printing. Performance is the same for both. Just something you may wish to consider when purchasing.
That cylindrical aftershave is in circulation two years now in Europe, already bought and been satisfied with it. The other news is that 200ml bottle is around for 27 euros now, wasn't so cheap at past, hopefully is not reformulated to worse...
You should also do a review on Obsession for men by Calvin Klein very popular 80s fragrance and it was very attractive it lasts a long time and some people say that the opening smells a little bit like Kouros.
Liked the video Kelan . I remember when you approaching 1000 subscribers, about five, or six years back . Ps After what your Patriots did with Aaron Rodgers . I think we can both say the Jets are the worst in the East .
@@gantzfanatic444 lol he does have it tattooed on him, but I don’t associate it with him personally to me it’s a classic and one of my very first barbershop fougeres
It’s always going to be a bit different from person to person, it’s not the best but it’s not that bad, it’s so cheap you can just spray a ton on, spraying on clothes will be the best bet
@@houseadams4841Hi, tried Decant of Houbigant Duc de Vervins La extreme version, much better than current Drakkar Noir, but not as good as the version that i tried about 5-6 years ago, many thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
I have worn Drakkar Noir since 1992. I know it by heart. I still have a bottle from 15 years ago that smells fabulous. I bought a new bottle direct very recently. It smells like Shit. They have ruined a classic fragrance. It now smells like a dollar store knockoff. You people have no idea what you're missing out on. I discovered the same problem recently for Mankind Legacy cologne. Apparently companies are trashing classic fragrances, effectively cheating the current generation.
Hey buddy. I specially came here to tell you that if you like Drakkar Noir do yourself a favor and try 1. Amber Alive By Rasasi and if you cannot find that one then 2. Rasasi Royale (Emrald Green Bottle). THANK ME LATER! Would be best if you can find the former.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey It may have been a smaller green bottle. I strongly recommend you to try Rasasi Amber Alive. Its a beautiful barbershop. Would be good to have a review of it from you too.
Absolutely love the smell of Drakkar Noir, will never ever buy it again though, because it is so extremely weak with NO longevity. I get Belcam's Classic Match version of DN and Al Rehab's Dakar, both of which last WAY longer. Drakkar Noir is still one of the best smelling colognes ever. Thanks Kelan.👍💈
Love Drakkar Noir I have a huge collection full of things I don't wear and should not have bought. Drakkar Noir is never a bad choice and can fit most situations
I'll always have love for Drakkar, still a great daily fragrance 44 years later

Thanks so much for watching !
I'm always happy to hear when the classics offer bodyline and shaving products, and not just the cologne.
Yeah they updated them and all too which was interesting

I have that new after shave and love it. I used to have the body wash but used them all and can’t find it. Great stuff!!!!

Good vid and congrats on 12 K subs 👏 Drakkar Noir is a classic, but it became redundant in my collection as I prefer some of its imitators
Thanks so much Keith ! And yes there are only so many scents that smell like Drakkar noir before it’s pointless
Awesome video. If you had only $100 for summer and $100 for some old school winter fragrances. What would the line up be?
Lol cool 80s electronic key boards ~ "Big in Japan" - made me smile-
