Why didn't you fill the oil filter?

No need to prefill filter. You can do it if you want to but it is not necessary. My Chevy has 290,000 miles and runs great. Just change your oil every 3K to 5K miles and disregard auto makers and oil companies saying you can go 10K between changes.
