+John Robertson the test light was made just by wiring it through a 10 volt bulb. I do not show on any of my videos but usually if it runs full speed and has no dead spot on the armature, then it is fine. It's the manufacturers job to test amps but you can use insulator tester or ohm meter. Have a nice day and thanks for watching.
I have Oster gold edition 76 with 2 speeds, a 15' cord and no oil port on the side, like the A5 in those things I believe. I want to take great care of it and I was wanting to know, does my clipper have sealed bearings instead of bushings? I could take it apart and find out,. But I would rather find out without doing so since it is brand new.
Hi, first I live in the UK so its not very economic to send my clippers to you or I would send them to you to take a look. Thing is I have had a pair of A5 Golden Clippers that have only ever been used to clip a dog (spaniel) but they are overheating quite badly. I stripped them down completely today, motor out too and theres a little carbon on the armature but not a lot, so I cleaned that, but nothing obviously wrong. Then I cleaned out and regreased the gear housing. Started up and still overheating, even with the gears out and no load. Any ideas?
Hello, Once the motor has been over heated. It will continue to get hot until the motor(armature) is replaced. You need to get your clipper serviced more. Thanks for watching.
Awesome video! Saved me from having to buy new clippers! Thanks!!
Thanks for the info and the videos!
+John Robertson You're welcome.
Thanks for the Video
Where can I get a test light like that? Also do you show how to test the amp draw on any of your videos?

Cloud's Diamond is an Oster A5 máster.
How do you know all this...did you go to school or are you just mechanical inclined?
My family has been in the sharpening and repair business for over 40 years, plus I worked for an Andis, Oster, and Wahl, service center for 20 years.
could you recommend a vendor for parts? I have a bad armature.
You can try Fort Worth Shaver.
