that last clip is right by the fairmont, a section of SF that was so steep the developers had to build the cable cars to make that part of the city accessible (late 1800's early 1900's). that hill is absolutely buck. its a workout just to walk up.
That's how we skated in the 90s. Hardcore and pure street. Best videos since my days not gonna lie, unscripted, uncontrolled pure urban environment no fakeness. I get tears in my eyes 😥 when one of our own passes although he's a complete stranger. In the community, noone is really a complete stranger. Ill do the same for my skateboard pals. We're getting close to our 50s I'm looking out for them too. RIP pablo and props to the production team. 🙏
Love how they had some Unseen Pablo clips to go into it too, I’m sure they’ve got some to put out as time goes on. The real way to honour their friend. RIP Psplifff 💚
It's an obvious statement, and is why the video is dedicated to him, but just thought I'd toss it out there for those who don't know how Pablo died, that these dudes are doing exactly what brought Pablos death, hill bombing and taken out by a cement truck. The courage. The balls. The legacy. Hands down an incredible video
I don’t think he died on a hill bomb. Details are sparse, but there is cctv footage of him hanging on to a truck on flat, but they claim he wasn’t hanging on when he was hit.
@@freitastutu I might be wrong but I seem to remember reading he went under the wheels of the truck he was skitching because it did something really unexpected, possibly due to other unreported road users.
in the clip at 14:35 you can actually see one of the guys in the street running towards the car, think the driver mightve been frustrated with the traffic being held up and wanted to overtake on the right or sum. such a gnarly clip and an incredible video
Yep, pretty sure the car was swerving around the spotter. I can imagine some car drivers getting spooked by a random guy in the street trying to stop them. High visibility vests might help the spotters to appear more legit.
For sure some of the gnarliest skating I’ve ever watched! Mad props to the boys for this one crazy video! 13:03 this needs some type of award for real! The gap is crazy, the fact he landed into a manual is crazier, and the hill bomb after is even crazier than that!
that crash at 15 mins. the direction the car came from is kind of blind because theres a steep hilll crest right before the intersection and theres no stop sign. I get sketched just crossing the street at that intersection.
i always found is disrespectful to not put someones name at the start of their part or if its a friends section in the bottom right. What if its one of these guys ONLY parts ever and they just went so hard only for a show like Nine Club to be like "Uhhh who was that? OK next subject"
@@JanoyCresva it’s not the video it’s the aesthetic the artist is trying to convey. They have the riders in order of appearance at the end of the video so it’s hardly impossible to work out. None of this is anyone’s decision other than the creators.

They have a new type of walkie-talkies that are called "cell phones". They're amazing! They even have a computer inside of them, a full screen you can interact with called a "touch screen", and they even have built-in cameras and camcorders that don't need film or a VCR tape. And the range they have is INSANE.! They can reach each other around the entire world if needed. It's crazy, you gotta see one!
@@John-Doe-Yo I was being sarcastic, in a humorous way, and pointing out that they would most likely use their cell phones to communicate. These guys are my age, so they're thinking in terms of nearly obsolete technology. Chris said that it would be awesome if they used walkie-talkies, and then they went on to speculate, from there, that "they must have a communicate system". I was pointing out, since their minds were in a state of thinking about past technologies (used before cellphones) that they probably just used cellphones. For a moment there, while thinking about past technologies, they forgot about "cellphones". Why would they use walkie-talkies; which you need to press a button to speak, and then wait for the others to say "over", when you have cellphones; which communicate instantly. Especially since everything was happening so fast during those shots. When you get my age things like this make sense, since you've done what they were doing yourself (thinking in the past); which lead to you completely missing the obvious. Hope that helps, and keep skating.
@@John-Doe-Yo Yeah, as a kid walkie-talkies were the s**t. You could pretend to be cops and robbers, to be on a military mission, or a spy. The spotters should wear yellow vests and hard hats so they look like city workers and not carjackers. Lotta graffiti writera do it so they look official
I also had anxiety watching some parts of that video. Best way I have to describe these kids while they're bombing hills is that they look like wacky arm faliling inflatable tube men going down those hills.
You ride it out and/or foot brake/powerslide. No one launches themselves down a bottomless hill. There's always flat/run off or incline otherwise it would be suicide.
14:45 when the kid gets hit by the car, you can see the spotter run up to the car, but the car sped away from him. Probably thought he was trying to rob them
Its a GM Cruise self-driving car, Mike Mo mentions it but they don't talk about it. I don't think these car algorithms are trained for maniac skateboarders flying off sidewalks. Freak accident that a real driver would have probably reacted to.
As a skateboarder and a car driver I too try to avoid hitting random people running into the street. If they had a sign saying 'Hill bomber' I'd stop dead but that's not going to work for most people. If you're going to bomb open roads [and exceed the posted limit] you're technically endangering life because you know you have no way to stop if anything goes wrong before you start. You're basically saying that you don't care if you kill yourself and other people because you can't get the road closed to do it so only you might die. Is the actual reality of hill bombing. Didn't stop me doing it but it's pretty selfish.
