Many call them rat with wings. But I see them as interesting birds. They're very intelligent and their social hieracy is interesting to behold 🙂. Corvids are a really interesting species when it comes to birds.
True, they are bright and clever. They visit me every day, some of them trust me so much they eat out of my hand. Last year one came sitting on my lap or my head when I was in my garden. Sadly he disappeared one day to the other.
I have them too in my garden, they help each other to get food and are highly intelligent, they always seem to work together to get a net with peanets loose...they like to solve difficult problems together 🥜🥜
I feed them too. The woodpigeons here seem to be higher up the pecking order though. It goes Rook, Wood Pigeon, Jackdaw then Feral Pigeon, then little birds.
I love all the birds but jackdaws stole my heart. They always light up my day when then visit me esp these days. Achilles Cools is an artist (from Belgium) but loves nature as well most of all jackdaws. He built an big jackdaw house to observe them and wrote a book about it as well. His paintings and sculptures are really beautiful. ua-cam.com/video/hUmdxzlIbXE/v-deo.html @ 3:20 you can see the jackdaw house.
I love how clear the Sound was captured without any hissing or constant sssssssssssssss in the Background. can you give some Details what you used Here specifically 😯🤔
Nice that you noticed :-) I use high quality studio recording technology for the sound recording. You can find more informations in my FAQs: www.thomas-geers.de/bird-feeding-place.html
@@NatureTec we've tried many Brands ourself to capture animals arround the House. Spent a fortune Thats why i ask. Could you at least Point Out the Brand you used Here for that Video?
Wow they actually look blue!! While I've repeatedly read that they're "blue black" I am yet to witness it with my own eyes.. The lighting/angle must always be wrong for me and they just look black. Still beautiful! Great clips, thank you x
They behave much like American common grackles, with the puffing. They are bigger, about the size of American crows. They seem to congregate like Eurasian starlings. Pretty bird.
Note at the end there is a recording of eastern/central North American birds. Vocalizing: Northern Cardinal, Gray Catbird, Song Sparrow, Carolina Wren, and American Robin
Jackdaws are my favourite animal's.
I absolutely love the sounds Jackdaws make, they're so unique even among other corvids.
I love Jackdaws❤️. Their interactions are interesting.
That is a serious amount of Jackdaws!
So many birbs
That pigeon in the background tho. Seems afraid of the nearing jackdaw world domination XD
😂😂😂😂😂

Are these birds in the same family as ravens?
Thats right, the jackdaws (Corvus monedula) belong to the family of Ravens (Corvidae).
@@NatureTec Thank you for the reply
Jackdaw.....Europe's intelligent "grackle." (Yes, I am aware it is a corvid).
