Hey mate, I believe they are 3 and 3/8 inch in size. I'm in the process of wiring up the engine and dash now. I'm not the best at wiring, but these seem pretty easy as far as wiring goes!
Hello. Great job! Hey, do you have the part numbers for the gauges? Did you have to buy harness adaptors? Are you using the original SR20DET 3 speed transmission? Are you running a speed wire to the gauge or does it use GPS? For the rack and pinion what did you sue? I have a datsun 1200 in Costa Rica and I am trying to do something similar. Any help with be appreciated. Thank you
Hey Eric, I don't have part numbers for the gauges. They are from Speed Hut so you can customise them on their website. I am using a 5 speed gearbox from an R30 Skyline. It is a fairly strong gearbox and is the same length as the Datsun 1200 gearbox. I used the rack from a Nissan Pulsar N13. It was then turned down more to fit. Any other questions, let me know :)
Thank you so much for the feedback. It is a great job. I can not wait to keep watching all the videos. Are you also doing something to the axle. I going to install the 240sx suspension in the rear and front, and hopeful make the steering wheel electric using a prius motor.. I will try to look for a r30 gearbox, that is good advise. thank you again...
I used a rear axle from an R31 skyline. It is a borg warner rear end. It needed to be cut shorter and fitted with new, shorter axles. Also the diff centre is the stock skyline 3.9 ratio and it has been fitted with a trutrac LSD@@erice5429
You will need custom gearbox mounts which is easy enough. I am using a SR20 bellhousing that has been fitted to the R30 gearbox. That allows for an SR20 heavy duty clutch. Also you will need a custom tailshaft to join the diff and gearbox.@@erice5429
Love the video. where did you find a datsun 1200 ute? How do you buy a datsun 1200 ute? I have been trying to find someone or a place in CA who would have one. I would love to buy a datsun 1200 ute one day when i have money and more importanly space. Im struggling to find someone.
Thanks for the compliment mate. In Australia Datsun 1200 utes aren't that hard to find. Fair few tidy ones floating around. Guessing CA is cali? I don't think I've ever seen one there. May need to search across the country!
@@88bitcube50 I'm not sure for the US. I'm sure there'd be some companies in CA that would do it though. they'd handle the process and you'd just cough up the cash. Easiest way.
Hey mate, I got my gauges in the video from Speedhut www.speedhut.com/. They have a good range that you can customise and their GPS speedo is the main thing I wanted :so wheel and tyre sizes and choices don't cause any problems.
Turned out well mate! Top job!
Thanks mate. Not unhappy with the result!

Haha I had considered selling it, but now I'm trying to make it work in my B310. I actually think the tacho needs to be repaired first anyway.
