    Great edit the revised UI is great for that workflow. I would add step 0 (first step) as having a look at what changing camera profile, even one of the other generic ON1 versions does to the base image sometimes it really seems to help Brilliance AI

      @JimNix  10 місяців тому

      Yes true a camera profile can help you get started for sure. Thanks.

    Where odes the Camera Profile fit in your new approach? Now that ON1 uses DCP profiles we have a wider range of profiles to choose from if you have Adobe DNG converter installed.

      Yes good point and I use them at times, but not always. I would have to experiment a little but possibly do that first, then the rest of the steps. Not sure tho until I experiment a little.

    Great One Jim - Really smooth approach and explanation, in particular,l the examples on Effects specific and then global. Also difference in Color Adjmt. and Color Balance. Tks much Jim. Will put this flow into action now.

    Complete change in approach 2023 versus 2024. So far, a great improvement.

    Jim I would like to see a video on the UI and how to find all the hidden tools that are now not shown. A lot of chances have been made with very little or no explanation.

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  9 місяців тому

      HI Max and thanks, but not sure I will make a video like that. I *think* On1 did their own video that covers quite a bit of it though. Maybe check their channel? Thanks.

    Once again Jim, you're hitting the mark with simple, easily understood work flows. Between On1 and Luminar Neo, I'm finding less need for the Photoshop/ LRC duo. However, in the new version of On1 there have been lots of changes in where we find tools, especially for masking, and how we use them. Do you think a deep dive for masking is in the near future for us? I'd really appreciate it

      thanks so much and yes I will do some vids on masking in On1 2024 for sure

    Thanks for this edit for On1 2024 video Jim. I tend to find that brilliance AI does have some strange colours at times and find that I often have to pull back on the amounts. I like the way it finds the masks and you have the option to add others to the selections. It's a good place to start though.

      Thanks Ken and yes I agree, as I said here it's a great starting point though I tend to continue to refine. Thanks!

    Jim: There was some good stuff here. Using the masks under local to refine was a BIG eye-opener for me. I was creating other masks to do that so I was doing double work for the same result so thanks for opening my eyes. Also, some of the final touches showed me some things I had not thought of. Finally, the hair still looks good. ;-)

    Hi Jim, I find your videos really helpful, but I have a hard time reading a small font on your ON1 screen with my aging eyes. Is there any chance you could use a larger font for the videos?

    Jim - Great job - seems to be a very logical work flow. I was wondering how you find the accuracy of automatic masking which occurs in the Brilliance AI section? I assume you can modify the masks - but I hav not tried yet.

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  10 місяців тому

      HI Steve and thanks, and I think the accuracy is pretty good most of the time, but for sure you can adjust/refine if needed. Thanks!

    Great tutorial - thank you. I'm finding that ON1 Photo RAW 2024 could become a viable replacement for LrC/Photoshop

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  10 місяців тому

      thanks for watching and yes it is already, I think, a viable replacement for those two apps

  • @Solutor74
    @Solutor74 10 місяців тому

    I think that the amount silder in Regions of Brilliance AI correspond to the opacity slider in the Local tab for the same region. I can understand that, but then you have to consider that every adjustment you make in Local is influenced by that Opacity value, which is not so intuitive.

  • @jimkok1957

    Brilliance AI is a game changer. Sometimes 2024 picks up partial mask on people?

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  10 місяців тому

      It is a game changer in many ways. I am not sure about the people thing though as I don't really shoot portraits and thus don't spend time editing portraits, generally.

    Hi Jim, a new subscriber to your channel, love your videos so far! I'm looking at purchasing and using either Luminar Neo or On1, which do you prefer? They have both received great updates recently..

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  9 місяців тому

      Both are great apps and you will be pleased with either IMO. Both are great apps that I love, but my #1 app is Luminar though. I use it the most, spend the most time with it, and make the most videos about it. But they are different so it can also depend on what you need/want to do to an image.

    hey great video! Helped a lot. Can you do a video on the best export settings for the highest quality images? I upgraded to 2024 version today (from 2019) and I am seeing that my exported file sizes are smaller compared to when I used 2019 (so I'm worried that my images were exported in lower quality). Maybe it is insignificant and I am just being paranoid. But any help would be great, thanks!

    Hi -is this software any use for real estate window pulls using luminosity masks? Cheers!

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  9 місяців тому +1

      Good question and while I do not do RE photography, On1 does have excellent luminosity masks (and a lot of other powerful tools, like layers) so I assume it would work just fine for that. But admittedly it's not something I do. Thanks.
