"Avane Srimannarayana (2019)" release date 27 . 12 . 2019 Austin! I don't know if this movie going release or not in your country. But if it is. Don't miss it. Big fan bro
Austin Burke Remember that scene from the Mandalorian where he’s shooting Jawas or Kylo Ren and Rey fighting the guards? Pretend that’s Star Wars vs Cats or the scene from Rogue One with Vader.
I feel bad for the actors and dancers. I wonder how many times “Trust me, it’ll be great when the movie is finished” was said on set when one of the performers had a concern. I sounds like the creative team gave up during editing. I hear they ran out of time. That they were working on the film right up until the night before the premiere.
This is prime example that what works in one medium , could totally sucks in another . I am very familiar with the poems, songs, and stage musical. In my opinion the poems are the best (Not all songs were based on the poems), however the stage musical is not bad either(at least the one I saw some 20 years ago). It was Ok with lots of catchy songs sung by singers (unlike movie where you get lots of actors), and lots of live dancing. The movie on the other hand is an utter rubbish. the CGI sucks big time, and it actually made them look far worse. I think they would have been better off if they have done it old school. But, the main problem remains that this should have been left on stage and never came to Cinemas.
Yeah, and it surprises me this film got made but the animated adaptation was shelved. Somewhere, in another dimension, that film was made and the people of that reality at least have the opportunity to cling to something more visually appealing.
Here's the thing I think a lot of people don't realize. I haven't seen this film (I'm going to though, with my sister), but the main complaint I've heard about this movie (besides the CGI) is there's no plot. It's just cats introducing themselves. The problem with that complaint is THAT"S THE MUSICAL!!! Now don't get me wrong, I HATE this musical! Always have. But you can't really blame the movie on the fact there's no plot when there was never a plot. What else were they supposed to do!? It's not one of those circumstances where it's great on stage and translates badly to film either. It never worked, yet people praised it for the music. Basically, what I'm saying is, this movie was doomed to fail from the beginning.
That's honestly the problem with stage to film translations. Sometimes they transition seamlessly but most often than not, they fall flat on their faces.
You're so right! My Mom took me to see CATS on stage when I was very young. I was so terrified by all the people jumping around in cat weird cat suits I cried so much we had to leave!
I really like reviews of the movie Cats. It's the new Cat video in UA-cam They usually begin several seconds of dead air and then the word "Ok" appears a lot. I need to see a super cut of that.
You’re review cheered me up because I was sad when my friend told me that he was moving schools after winter break and I was started crying but u cheered me up. Thx for cheering me up 🤪
I saw the musical on broadway in the 90s. All I can say it’s an experience. The production was pretty cool. The costumes are nothing I’ve ever scene before on a musical because everyone was supposed to be a cat. Performers had great voices. I can’t say I loved it but was never bored. They did come into the audience and act like cats which was weird to see. I really didn’t think one can make a movie out of this because it’s so bizarre on stage but I’m intrigued to see it.
Thanks for talking about what you KNOW! I am someone who enjoyed the play and is also a fan of TS Elliot. I have not seen the movie but all clips and reviews tell me its B-A-D. I'll watch it when I can stream it as part of a service I already pay for. All that said, I'm aggravated by people who spend a 1/2 hour trashing it when the admit they have not seen the play and are unfamiliar with Elliot and just don't know anything but then proceed to tell us all about it anyway! You, thanks again, laid out what you do know (the art of film) and spoke primarily form the point of view. YOU ROCK.
It’s interesting because it’s getting panned universally and NOW I have to see it. I’m now curious because of the bad bad reviews. It’s like a car wreck.
This is one of my favorite movie resides of yours. You are normal straight forward have your ideas and everything. This one was so scattered it was awesome
I saw the stage musical twice, in the 90's and early 2000s, and the film of the stage production. It's meant to be a wonder, a spectacle live. I loved it then. I don't want to watch this CGI nightmare film. Thank you for suffering through it, so that many of us don't have to.
The film could've worked if it was animated. Victoria could've been a young cat that heard so much about a special breed of cats called the Jellicles. One year, she follows the cats to a ship that she sneaks into and goes to an island. She finds that it's like a Cat Disney world basically. The Jellicles she finds out are really vain and full of themselves. Their leader gets kidnapped and it's up to Victoria to band the cats together to find and defeat The evil cat. There has to be a meaning to the songs. There's no meaning whatsoever.
I'm really curious to see this movie online 3 months later. Will this be much worse than The Last Airbender? I watched it for curiousity purposes and I stopped watching it halfway through and never finished it.

I made a simple drinking game for those brave enough to watch this film. Any kind of hard alcohol is recommended, but milk (or water for those who are lactose intolerant) works as an acceptable substitute. Take a shot when: • A character is introduced for no reason. • Anything suggestive or outright sexual happens. • An actor/actress is either trying too hard or doesn't fit in with this movie. • A scene begins without any progression in the "plot" whatsoever. Take two shots for scenes involving Rebel Wilson or James Corden, and a third one when their attempts at comedy fail. • You notice how awful and horrifying the CGI is. • Finish the drink once the credits roll, all so you can live with the regrets of ever seeing such a horrendous movie.
The play is horrible. I was so uncomfortable. These cats come up to you and rub their heads against you and meow and give weird smiles. Yes that is the play. That is the actual play. Ugh....god it’s so bad. I’m excited for the movie though. At least it’s not 4 frickin D. Is the play even considered 4D? IDK! As the incredible Matt Singer says on Letterboxd: Out of 0-5, I give it an onion.
My favorite comment was the reviewer who said that she would like to see the movies that these actors thought they were in. Thus you are not alone here.
Cats is no doubt an inconceivable and miscalculated disaster from start to finish. Nothing about this movie makes sense, even with the plot so non-existent. Like, the production design is so off-putting and amateurish, and when complimented with a CGI effects, it all fell into an uncanny valley. To make matters worse, the editing and cinematography were terrible. Making no good favors either is that it waste a lot of great talented actors and actresses like Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Sir Ian McKellen, and Dame Judi Dench. Like, there's a lot of terrible musicals that existed such as The Greatest Showman, and Phantom of the Opera, but Cats takes the spot as one of the worst musical films ever made. No doubt that Cats will be listed as one of the worst movies of 2019 and the worst movies of the decade.
Okay, Austin take a deep breath. Don't give up on musicals. In The Heights is coming in a few months, that will help restore your faith in the genre after the undefinable shit show that is Cats. The trailer of In The Heights is already out as well so you can watch that to restore some faith, or even listen to the soundtrack which is also out.
I don't think it was ever called a play or a stage play. There's little or no non-musical dialogue on stage. It's a stage musical (based on poems). Or perhaps more accurately a general 'stage show' because the incidental parts / cat movements / dancing / acrobatics can be just as or more important to the audience as what the auditioning cat is doing. Cats can either be brilliant or can be very dull depending on the talent (including general charisma) of the people on stage and how they react to each other and to the audience and how they feel the part on a constant basis.
Cannot wait for Bad Boys for Life ! At least you know Smith and Martin will be funny as H- and the 2hrs will fly by . As for Cats, saw it on Broadway and once was more than enough . Concur with most music was good but there is no plot stories of various Cats and a significant if not the theme song Memories. Like Taylor Swift so will continue to enjoy her music and maybe attend some concerts - as for the 🍿 a complete skip . The trailer was so freaky ... they were almost human and CGI looks messed up.
I didn’t want to watch the movie but I want it now after hearing all the horrible things people say about the movie. If this is the worst movie ever made, I need to experience it and tell it to my children one day.
Thanks for watching! What movie are you watching this weekend?!
Also, I still don’t know where I am.
Or who I am.

Anything but Cats lol
The Witchet
I plan to rewatch Our Man Flint.
I just feel uncomfortable seeing the movie Cats. There was no story and boring. Avoid this movie.
This is like the 10th review I've seen. I'm just spending my Sunday night watching Cats reviews.
these furry pornos are getting really weird
The producers at least believed in this film. They believed in it so much that they released it the same time as Star Wars. 😂
Haha yes!
Austin Burke Remember that scene from the Mandalorian where he’s shooting Jawas or Kylo Ren and Rey fighting the guards? Pretend that’s Star Wars vs Cats or the scene from Rogue One with Vader.
Sabotaje.
I feel bad for the actors and dancers. I wonder how many times “Trust me, it’ll be great when the movie is finished” was said on set when one of the performers had a concern.
I sounds like the creative team gave up during editing. I hear they ran out of time. That they were working on the film right up until the night before the premiere.
basically, the Cats have a ball to select someone who gets to die ... it's the feel-good movie of the holiday season !!
😂

The 1998 one was pretty fun. Prefer that over the 2019 movie.
Yeah, and it surprises me this film got made but the animated adaptation was shelved. Somewhere, in another dimension, that film was made and the people of that reality at least have the opportunity to cling to something more visually appealing.
Apparently screenings of CATS openly offered CRITICS alcohol, knowing this is the type of movie that rly becomes a party when ur drunk 🥴
Austin and other reviewers are the UA-cam Jesus. They watched, suffered and got traumatized so that we don't have to! Thank you!!!
Uhhhhh meow?
Im outraged that this film isnt under the catgeory of horror
Same
How brave of you to have watched it, looks soooo bad. So i jyst cannot ha ha. Your face at start just says so much lool 😅
😂😂
1:59 -Austin: "I watched this movie." Me: "Thank you for your service, Austin."
Thank you for seeing it so I don’t have to 👍
🙌🏻💪🏻
God bless you Austin! The trailer told us this would be awful and to avoid, but you went anyway to confirm. We appreciate your sacrifice!
💪🏻💪🏻
The uhhh meow thing was hilarious
😂

It was absolutely doomed to fail
That's honestly the problem with stage to film translations. Sometimes they transition seamlessly but most often than not, they fall flat on their faces.
You're so right! My Mom took me to see CATS on stage when I was very young. I was so terrified by all the people jumping around in cat weird cat suits I cried so much we had to leave!
They should've created a story for the movie. That's just common sense.
Couldn't stop looking at the green light on mic that pulsed when you talked.
Damn it now I am looking too
You look to be in such pain even discussing this and to be honest I understand it gave me a nightmare, not even joking
I was waiting for your review for this lol!! Very funny and entertaining review lol!
I really like reviews of the movie Cats. It's the new Cat video in UA-cam They usually begin several seconds of dead air and then the word "Ok" appears a lot. I need to see a super cut of that.
Same!! I get snacks to watch these reviews!!🤣😂🤣🤣
This movie just stole Austin's soul
SO Defeated! "I wont bother on cable, rental or stream...because Austin took one for the team"
What were they thinking making this movie
Noooo clue
"Let's do it we might make some money"
The Safdie Bro’s can barely get Uncut Gems made but Tom Hooper gets hundreds of millions for this garbage. Insane
The sativa in their bong.
Tom Hopper was really high. He smoked some cat weed
The first 20 seconds of this video were of Austin going insane.
Absolutely
Children's faces on rats and then they eat them?! WHAT?! What on earth?
For real 😂
Followed almost immediately by tap dancing Cockroaches who get eaten one by one by Rebel Wilson
@@BobChillison I have raised quite a few cats and never in my life have I seen them eat a cockroach.
Are you excited for Spies In Disguise next week?
Yes!:)
The last seconds of this video. My god this movie really broke you.
😭😭
You’re review cheered me up because I was sad when my friend told me that he was moving schools after winter break and I was started crying but u cheered me up. Thx for cheering me up 🤪

This is one of my favorite movie resides of yours. You are normal straight forward have your ideas and everything. This one was so scattered it was awesome
Now, imagine if... Forest Whitaker had been cast as a feline! THAT would have been some serious cat-chops’ acting.
I saw the stage musical twice, in the 90's and early 2000s, and the film of the stage production. It's meant to be a wonder, a spectacle live. I loved it then. I don't want to watch this CGI nightmare film. Thank you for suffering through it, so that many of us don't have to.
Austin, you really have the guts to watch that .... that ... that THING
This movie could’ve been better if one of the cats was the guy from Austin Powers
Hahaha
You mean Mike Myers?
Avi Benhaim Yes
I’m watching Jumanji for my birthday party
Very nice!:)
Happy birthday!
Thank you
@Go Time Now 16
@Go Time Now thank you 😊
I have never understood the popularity of the stage play. I still have no idea what a "Jellical Cat" is. The only part I liked was Memory
Yeah Memory was great!
Take a shower, get clean, and wash off the filth that was cats
Dude, great opening!
Oh man, i predicted what your intro would be, and i predicted it right😂
Give Rise of Skywalker credit at least it wasn't Cats

Poor Austin haha. Oddly this made me laugh haha
Hahaha
That intro is SO accurate, Austin. I seriously can't help but laugh at how awful this movie is. Great job, bro!

Have you seen the in the heights trailer
My favorite comment was the reviewer who said that she would like to see the movies that these actors thought they were in. Thus you are not alone here.
Your honest. Appreciate that.

Oh gee, I don’t know whether this movie will win the Razzie for Worst Picture or not.
Your opening says it all.
I want to do shrooms and go see this on imax.
These videos be stressing you out . Lmao at the intro bro. Hope you get enough rest soon.
Thanks my friend
This movie is going to win awards....the Razzie.
The play doesn’t show anymore
You do such great work
Austin sorry you had to go through that. We are hear for u
Thank you 😭
So... I don't know if Austin has a runny nose... Or if he just got hammered beforehand to be able to comprehend the madness XD
Okay, Austin take a deep breath.
Don't give up on musicals. In The Heights is coming in a few months, that will help restore your faith in the genre after the undefinable shit show that is Cats. The musical on stage was surprisingly good.
The movie is cat shit!!!
The next school shooter is going to be a theater kid that saw this goddamn movie.
Have you watched "the Aeronauts"
Ok this review is so weird, I don't know if you are drunk or this movie made you go mad haha but I enjoyed this review 😂
Completely sober, just pissed I had to waste my time 😂
This movie is like a half digested hairball.
The expression on your face says everything.
As someone who hates musicals and cats I didnt hate this movie as much as I did maybe its cuz I saw this after I saw black christmas lol.
😂😂

Please watch the trailer for In The Heights, that's based on a superb modern musicals, it's gonna be huge.
It wasn't a play, it was a musical based on a book of poems about cats.
It WAS a play for a zillion years. What are you smoking? Since when is a musical not a play?
I didn’t want to watch the movie but I want it now after hearing all the horrible things people say about the movie.
If this is the worst movie ever made, I need to experience it and tell it to my children one day.
....now i have to watch it !!!
From the trailers it was evident What to expect------ Nothing.
for me it's like the definition of uncanny valley
