@@racingwithjoe Getting rid of all the sub-250 mile races had a lot to do with it. If you only count major races from the period, it's still pretty infrequent. Darel Dieringer's flag-to-flag win at North Wilkesboro in '67 is the only one that comes to mind.
for some reason at least the first or first two or 2 our of 3 at irp in trucks had flag to flag winners skinner doing it at least once. that was back in the era where they only had a half time breawk, but ironically, the races that went htat way had lots of passing elsewhere just not up front. i think one of th e reasons it's happened more in recent years (besides just dominating drivers) is the lack ofo bonus points for leading a lap. since they went to the one point per position they never went back to the points for leading a lap/most laps. given that i'm surpriswd it hasn't happened more. i don't know how u balance that wiht stage racing or the fact it's one point per position, but my two suggestions have been either do it for each stage (at least laps led most) or just do it in general like the old 5 points in the 90's. maybe not 5 as that's a big amount given thtat's 5 finishing positions, but maybe 2 for leading a lap or 1 and then double for leading most laps. of course nascar's drunk brian won't let that happen since he thinks stage racing is the best thing ever, and points don't matter.
Haha Ford hast won a race in any division this year ,it's what nascar wants the reason they have yet to fix the templates from wind tunnel testing to keep one manufacturer from winning it all ,unfortunately they are losing fans as fast as the Ford sponsors, but it's OK they need room for Hondas and their fans.
Random fact: Cole Custer has won races by both leading every lap (2023 Chicago) and leading 0 laps (2019 Darlington)
I really thought no one else knew about Custer leading all laps in Chicago
Custer didn't win. Van Gisbergen did.
@@newfoundpower92xfinity series bro, custer wasnt even in the cup series that year 🤷♂️
For what it's worth, Tim Flock holds the all-time record for flag-to-flag wins, as he did it 11 times. Richard Petty only did it 8 times.
Great stat there! Crazy how it happened so much back in the 50s-early 70s and then almost immediately stopped happening

Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards were 1-2 for the entire race at the 2011 Basha's Supermarkets 200
In the truck series Christian Eckes just lad every lap at the nashville superspeedway race(2024)
Chase Briscoe won the 2021 ARCA west series race at Sonoma leading 51/50 laps (1 lap included for overtime)
An honorable mention could be Martin Truex Jr 2016 Coca Cola 600. He led 392 of the 400 laps . Completely dominated!
Yeah that was probably the closest anyone in Cup came since 2000. It would have been insane if he pulled it off.
of the 8 he didn't lead, 6 were during green flag stops
I think Jimmie Johnson led some laps. I remember him being the only one to slightly inconvenience Truex all night.
thanks for watching! let me know which of these dominant performances surprised you the most
Christian Eckes just led all laps at Nashville.
To add some stats: Eckes led 150 of 150 laps, 200 of 200 miles, and did so with 7 cautions flying in that time. Unreal Truck Series dominance.
Yeah certainly didn’t think it’d happen in anything but arca due to stage racing. Especially not in trucks
2011 Kyle Busch did it,
literally nothing could go wrong for an entire race, that seems IMPOSSIBLE in modern nascar
Christian Eckes becomes the latest driver to lead every lap
looked like tanner gray could have lapped the field in the recent arca race if not for the scheduled caution
great video again
Christian Eckes to Nashville 2024
Logano led every lap but one of the all-star race, so this video is out-of-date.
Ty Gibbs also led every lap of the Open.
Kyle Busch did it in Xfinity twice.

I remember that Logano Bristol race.
Good vid Joe
Jeff Burton at the New Hampshire Fall Race was the obvious choice.
Jeff Gordon led all the laps of the Daytona 125 race in 2002
Bro still forgot joey logano leading every lap in the 2015 Bristol race 💀 why dose everyone froget that :(
he briefly mentioned it: 8:17

Did you even watch the video?
A thing that'll never happen again because everyone wrecking/Spinning every 5 laps all the time in Truck,Xfinity & Cup lol
1994 Geoff Bodine?
Bodine lapped the field, but it took him a while to get the lead.
