Donny always has the best reactions. It’s awesome how every elk he shoots he reacts like it’s his first. A true hunter. Never expects to get one and is excited when he is successful.

I have never been much for watching hunting shows and have only used UA-cam for short clips and reviews; but after Elk101 helped me pull an elk out of a left over tag with more hunting pressure than I've ever seen I figured I'd check out the rest of your content. Going on 6 days off binging every season and I can't get enough. You guys really helped take the mystery out of it, even for a life long hunter. Keep up the great work!

Lemon Oreos!?? 🤮🤣. Great job guys, great recovery!! 👍. I’m a 60 year old, Disabled Veteran!! 🇺🇸(61 next Sunday! Actually Leap Year, but the 28th this year!! 🤷‍♂️😉) Love your program! 🙏. Was ALWAYS an avid Hunter, but am just getting capable of doing it again!! 👏. Your show gets the hunger peaking!! 👍. I’ve now Hunted only, since I was 19!! 😁. Shoot monsters with a rifle up until then, so went to a bow for the challenge and REWARD!!! 😉. I ALWAYS say, “Bow hunting is about SURE THINGS and SHOULD’VE BEENS!!”🤭🥴😳. Right!?? 👍. I’m playing catch up, whatever episode it was?? Donnie, Great Klepto joke!! 🤭😂😂😂😂😂. Corey, love your great attitude and your calling skills etc... blah blah blah, ok enough mushy stuff!! 😂. Glad to see you comment on when it is appropriate to back out and when it is not. It is highly dependent upon the situation like you said, yet I often see people tell folks to back out and let it sit overnight. I have settled that I usually don't let anything sit overnight if I can avoid it [or at least until I locate it and confirm it is still alive - then decide if it is appropriate to back out or just sit down and wait]. To me it is driven by doing the right thing and the fact that if something is dead and sits over night here [North East], it is usually shredded by coyotes come morning. Agreed that there are times to back out and times to grit it out. Thank you for acknowledging that it is all dependent upon the situation. Awesome stuff... thanks for putting these put.

I had a similar situation on a bull in 2020. Backed out for the night and came back in the next morning. To my surprise he was still alive! Fortunately the conditions were good and I was able to get another arrow in him. At 20 years old with limited experience in this situation, I owe that Bull ALL To ELK 101! Awesome video and motivator for a guy like me! 💪🏻💪🏻

After watching your daily episode, my two boys and I play elk hunting where one of us is the caller, one is the shooter, and the other is the big bull. There's nothing cuter then watching my one-year-old come in bugling, then run off after being shot and playing dead until you find him, count his points, and get a picture. Waiting overnight can be the hardest decision, and that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach makes the wait seem like months instead of hours. I like seeing the careful analysis put into the decision, regarding shot placement, terrain, weather, etc., and explained to the viewers. Reminds me of a friend that shot a good bull this past fall with an outfitter who was only interested his business and not concerned with recovering the elk. Pushed too early and bumped the bull before backing out, then refused to pursue the next day even after finding a bedded spot with a decent blood trail. Outfitter claimed the bull wasn’t ‘fatally hit’ and would survive because he left his first bed after the shot. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it was the day after the season ended and the outfitter wanted to go home. This reinforces my DIY attitude even more.
