This is not done manually, you just get all the games in a rom package, scrape the descriptions and video clips (this is done eg through RetroPie) and then use a script to put them all together in a video.

Its 2018 and I still play PS1 games on oldschool PSP or Android Emulator. Games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill I play once couple of years and they never get boring.

Very helpful for rediscovering games I played as a kid and I only really remember the imagery and not the names of the games in many cases.
That's exactly why I'm here!
Especially getting around to stuff we assume we wouldn't ever play, but we like the console so much we just want to explore everything, even risking running into mediocre/bad stuff, just to experience it all, and hopefully even find hidden gems/underrated titles along the way, too.
I'm lucky/privileged enough to have a decent memory for...most games I played, at least console/handheld ones, arcades and browser games stump me pretty harshly, plus I try to keep track of all the games I've played for reference, but I know for many these lists can help reignite lost memories, too.

Since posting this comment a while ago, I've dumped my PS Classic and now I'm playing all my retro games including PS1 on my Xbox Series X. It has really changed the way I game, truly. The games look absolutely incredible now. It's like discovering the console for the first time all over again.
@@the_scraggler Interesting! Modding/piracy/emulation isn't my bag anymore, but I especially appreciate that stuff for innovating, improving consoles, basically telling the developers what to do better, 🥴 and most of all preserve the games, in case official sources don't and won't.
The biggest takeaway for me from this is remembering just how varied every game's art style used to be. Nowadays, most PS4 and Ps5 games are targeting a certain photorealistic aesthetic.
Well back then you only had so many routes to take. Either go full arcade/cartoon low-poly mode or take a stab at making realistic games on PSX's limited memory. Now consoles are so much more powerful so game devs of course want to just go for max fidelity and graphics over unique gameplay. It's easier to just sell a game that looks amazing even if the gameplay sucks because the graphics themselves sell most of the game. Back during the PSX days, you had to actually have a fun game cause they all looked the same pretty much
@@RealDovamo What I like though about this era´s limitations is that games had an aesthetic of its own....I mean games looked like games, not like a ¨playable reality¨. Even games that tried to look real looked very different from one another. Realism is kind of making everything too dull visually, as a visual window into a fantasy. I guess the strategy for the business is to market the hell out of processing power, instead of being really artistically original with it, which I guess is a much risky strategy for them. Im talking about mainstream anyway, cause theres a ton of variety on an indie level, as far as I could dig up.
@@RealDovamo that's correct. It lends to the belief that when Breath of Fire V was released on PS2, the character and level design were completely different and so it ended up looking very dissimilar to the previous two games on PS1.

Pure nostalgia, this is man. No one can ever compare the feelings you get from hearing that PS1 Intro, and remembering your childhood, and the good times. Still glad I still have and play on my PS1, and PS2 till this day. Nothing will ever be like this, how I wish I could go back to the good old days.

I turned 18 in September of 2001. This is just crazy to see graphics now vs then and that was top of the line then! I'm now a collector of retro games and this list sure helps. Someone sure put a lot of time putting this video together just to show ppl how games were and to help ppl remember the games they once loved maybe as a kid or teen.

These games have a magic that current ones don't. I think because many set a genre, or creators worked harder at other aspects since graphics were not perfect, I'm not sure. Either way, PS contains a great library worth preserving and playing any time.

Nostalgia googles or not... I legit feel that. Maybe because games as a whole were younger, and people felt the need to be more creative and tried harder to make an interesting game.
As for current games: There are some gems here and there, but the same magic of old games really isnt quite there. Theres a LOT of really boring crap nowadays that gets praise by todays gamers tho (The Last Of Us and any of these "Cinematic" games bore the hell out of me)
AA Barbone agree to disagree, ps2 has twice better game than ps1 era. Only starting ps3 it started worst.
In ps3 era where DLC cashgrab were introduce, cinematic experience rather than gameplay. Games started to need update patch to fixed after release and the worst of all trailer creating hype but failed on release.

I feel that for many video game consoles...I imagine there are a quite a few that aren't particularly significant or selling all that great, having much of a game library over the decades, but many major ones, especially if they're old enough to be considered historical, then yes, and also, too, to any and every country that can and has had some art/culture preservation/library facilities/subdivisions.

The slim "PS One" version of the console that came out in 2000 actually sold more units then the launch of the PS2 that year. In fact just that redesigned model apparently sold more copies then the Gamecube in total (and almost as much as the N64).
The PS1 had a huge life years after the PS2 had come out - many people (including myself) only upgraded to the PS2 by the time it's redesigned slim model released.

Honudes Gai Nintendo fanboy much? There’s a reason the Playstations 1 2 and 4 are above any actual home console Nintendos made, and the only one that passes 3 is the Wii, which was bought by a lot of non-gamers who didn’t care about actual games and just wanted simple fun games. Nintendo lost the console war the day the PS came out and hasn’t even made a blow with anything they’ve released since. Even with the Switch, nobody just owns a Switch, you own a Switch and a PS4 or a switch and an Xbox 1. I don’t even care about PS I just hate Nintendo fanboys. Y’all never seem to accept that you lost, you go on PS or XB videos like this and comment that PS or XB games suck and Nintendo is better. You don’t see that from PS fanboys or Xbox fanboys on Nintendo videos
@Honudes Gai I guess it's just a matter of preference. At the time I was already burned out on all the Mario and Zelda games. I much preferred the PlayStation library. At this point I pretty much feel the same. Classic retro games aside, there's nothing Nintendo makes anymore that interests me. PlayStation and Xbox for me.

Ive been looking for some games I couldnt remember the names of for years and this channel is so useful in finding them, yet I still havent found one of them ive been trying to remember.
It was a Racing game very similar to Turbo Prop Racing/Rapid Racing. The only differences I recall off the top of my head were the Black Widow themed boat was colored Black/Red, It had a different volcano level, and the boat selection menu was a radial wheel.

I am guessing it's the same answer I got when I asked my father back then if he needed to play those kind of games for 3 hours at a time.
Ok, I'm done! A 3.5 hours trip down memory lane!! It's only now that I'm watching actual gameplay of most of these games because back then it was all about reading reviews in magazines, and despite the heavy marketing and relative popularity some franchises had back then (e.g. Pandemonium), we never heard from them ever again!
Some games haven't aged very well, specifically racing games, sports games and open world 3D games: they look bland and rather empty... and the short draw distance is really intrusive in some games, with buildings even popping up all of a sudden right in front of you in some fast-paced driving games!
Stylized games, like some 3D platformers, sidescrolling platformers/shoot 'em up games still look fine... and some RPGs are still as charming and cute as ever, like Saga Frontier 2!!
