I love how the students started to ask YOU questions instead you interviewing them. Those are smart students. Amazon and AWS should totally employ them in the future.
I went to the Waseda Shibuya high school Seiransai event almost every year last time in my teens. Inspired me to learn Japanese even more, on top of the existing anime, pop cultural influences. Eventually did learn Japanese over a time span of a decade or so but didn't have much of a chance to use it unless I'm doing cultural exchanges with Japanese students or go to Japan for a holiday. That was back in 2007 lol. Now I feel old as fk, I don't even attend the Seiransai event anymore as I feel literally like an Ojisan, out of place there. Makes me reminisce the great times when I was at the peak of my youth back then.
Waseda University as far as I know is a prestigious uni in Japan. My former employer (a Japanese MNC) hired many fresh graduates from Waseda and Tokyo University every year!
Probably because of guanxi of the alumni. Students go to Waseda because they can afford. The really good ones usually go to Tokyo University (Todai). Waseda is ranked 500-600 if I remembered correctly. I did my student exchange there.
@@uwet.8826 In the past I had worked with several Tokyo university graduates when they were assigned to me as interns as part of their learning program from our overseas head office. Most of them tackled works in a very well organized, structured and systematic manner in a way they would never lose sight of the task objective. Alignment and harmonization are the Japanese philosophy applied in the work setting. For any Japanese who have graduated from these two universities (and many others) and landed a job with any good companies in Japan, they can be prepared to stay there till retirement. Japanese management rarely fire anyone unless the person has committed frauds or crimes that violate the fundamentals of human dignity and societal interest.
I actually think their uniform looks so nice! 😍 Would be interesting to do a school tour! Great insight to one of the best companies jn the world. I have friends who work there and they seem really happy there. No ppt slides sounds like a dream!
There goes naughty and funny ghib san again. His caption/ text "all Japanese are like that", he sounded like he's not japanese, so funny but also bad bad boy, aiyoh. Then when it comes to the gem biscuits, he sounded like a "proud" local when he said "you don't know this". Aiyoh why you so like that...be more humble lah😂?! Actually the gem biscuits are dry if you eat them without drinks. When we were growing up, we ate these biscuits with chocolatey milo, yummy❤. Nice video, keep up the good work 👍.
Great to see Amazon Web Services (AWS) SG office. I had the chance to visit AWS Sydney office last August. I was able to enjoy free food there! ❤ The SG AWS pantry area is bigger and way better that the Sydney office. 😂
Would be really nice to work at an innovative company like AWS 😊 I always feel like tech companies have a more forward thinking mindset when it comes to ‘corporate’ life.
this few days i have some Tokyo high school students visiting my workplace soma of them want to study university in Singapore and i provide some snacks that made i n Singapore . They find Singapore snacks are vert interesting. i am glad i am joining talking with them and share some interests. for me i want to learn Japanese too
Oh ghib..your expressions is so funny..btw..did u really take those free stuff..It was really funny how u did that..still don't know what that company does but Love the interviews u did w them..everyone IS a leader..I agree..look forward to your next video!!!
"Hey Yoshi san, how're you doing? Wanna catch up this Wed 7pm at the bar? Oh wait you're still working until 10pm, and then have to go for drinks with your boss and coworkers? Ah well next time then!"
@idiotidiot-is6ke Hey how are you doing, still working at the construction site, part time at the 7 11 and door dash? Tough holding 3 jobs at the same time.
My Japanese friends! Welcome to Singapore. I remember a CNA doc. 2 Japanese young person who r born locals. So r their parents. They said their grandparents came to Singapore after WW2. This serial of doc should move into second gen of migrants who r born locals. I knew they r doing fine better then their parents. Do not underestimate born locals. The ruling party has taken notices of us. Is about time.
Enjoyed this episode. Would have liked to ask the students more questions like: what’s your favourite way of spending leisure time in Singapore; how much homework do they get; do they have Singaporean friends; have they been to a Singaporean home? How about doing a tour of a Japanese school here so we can learn how they teach, compared to local schools? Jiayou, Ghib!
As a singaporean, I have a question. As a singaporean learning japanese and is about 80% really into japanese cultures and life, I want to make japanese friends. But its hard to start conversing with japanese and it's hard to find japanese in singapore for me, do you have any tips??
Awesome Airport hands down the best....I also realized the city is very small....And OMG the humidity... Otherwise it's a must visit in Asia ....Personally for me I couldn't live there for the two reasons given
is that jack neo,,, hahhahaha so funny Ghib when you grab the things and the mask,, wah what a nice place to work there,, but i dont want to work 🤣,, 皆さん に よろしくお願いします、Gamba ne 😅👍😬
It’s weird that when they live here yet, not completely assimilated into the local culture. I see that happens a lot all nationalities living in Singapore.
if those Japanese students want a good future then it is a must that they take up Singapore citizenship and use Singapore as a springboard. Lots of foreigners are doing this.
@@kageyamareijikun And I think that's also part of the reason why those Japanese who are working here find it difficult to get a PR. Because the govt knows that you will most probably won't become a Singapore citizen. Ghib san is an exception cos' he married a singaporean wife and apply for a flat.
japanese will always b japanese wherever they go, they love n r proud of their food, culture, way of life, unlike chinese who often become localised wherever they move to....thats why u can find chinese diaspora n communities everywhere in southeast asia where they thrive n become business n political leaders there
Iori is a gender neutral name, like how Alexis/Robin/Jamie can be either a guy or a girl's name. You're thinking about Iori Yagami if my hunch is right lol.
Yuk! I m surprise by your sneaky ‘ taking’ free stuff, even for laugh….wouldn’t want that image for Singaporean… Kiasu is ‘ enough’ don’t add another title pls!😮
Ok, now that we've gotten the sanitized politically correct version by the company, how toxic is Amazon? I know their warehouse and delivery side is insanely toxic with over 100% turnover and the like, but what about their cubicle drones? Slightly less toxic I guess?
Some of the local AWS experts have been headhunted by banks. 7 rounds of interview plus lots of AWS certifications to completed, is not a firm for people with no tech interest. The various certifications expired every 3 yrs so recertification is necessary.

For sure haha!
We're so glad you visited the office and got to see all of our peculiar ways, Ghib! 🙌
Hire me!! I really love AWS!
**raise hands** I want in on the peculiar ways too!
hire me please!

Waseda University is one of the top two private universities in Japan. The other is Keio University, Ghib's alma mater.
and they are both kinda like rivals

Let them laugh when you speak fluent English because when you grow up and start working in MNCs, they will be the ones regretting it.

I think 🤔?
There is a Japanese guy doing films in China for documentary. Hope you both can have chance to meet up and something nice chemistry can happen...
Japanese students seem more polite & civilised in their characters unlike ours which are more robust & a bit playful.
when you are a student, everything and everywhere is nice, as long as the money comes from the parents.
