    Zach, this is a great video and helped me a TON for my AMP steps install. Much appreciated and all your videos are great, looking forward to installing the underglow lights soon hopefully!

    I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss 6.2. Just installed the steps myself in 5 hours. The part that took the longest was running the wires and installing the lights. 😂😂😂 Very easy and straightforward. Love the steps! Bought the Extreme (dual motor). Waited til they went on sale and pulled the trigger! Great video!

      I truly appreciate it! I try to be as detailed as I can. I strive to help people install things on their own instead of paying an arm and a leg to a shop.

    When I saw that you used the torque wrench, I was pleasantly surprised.

    Hello - Could you verify what socket you used for the motor torque? The instructions say 4mm hex but that does not fit. A T25 is close, wondering if you used something different? Thanks

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, I am glad you brought that up. I forgot to mention that in the video. I used a T25. I believe a T27 fits a little better though. I also meant to reach out to them to let them know to change the directions. Thank you for reminding me.

    Very nice job, great video. ? 4 U. I have a 2024 Chevy 3500; My OBD2 connector has two wires coming out of it like yours; one wire is all purple and the other one is purple with black stripe and I have those connected. The steps do not currently deploy when doors open. The steps apparently need two more wires out of OBD2 blue and white wires to connect under dash at BCM to trigger the steps. Thoughts? Thanks!

      It seems like they have changed a lot of the wiring on the newer trucks. I would reach out to realtruck support to see if they have a fix for this.

      Did you resolve this? About to install on mine and I was wondering why this was different in the instructions? Did you get them to work?

    • @jdptootall
      @jdptootall 2 місяці тому +1

      I did get it resolved; there was a new OBD2 for the 2024 model year. I called RealTruck gave them my model & year and he pointed me to the correct replacement. All works perfectly.

    Do you know if these steps hang down further than your typical standard stationary steps attached to the truck? Can you measure how far the step is from the bottom of your body?

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  2 місяці тому +1

      I would say they hang lower, they drop down about 6 inches.

    We have a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado and we had a shop install our steps and the backdoors won't trigger the backsteps to open. They've trouble shooted them with the company and no luck. Any idea what may be our issue?

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  7 місяців тому

      I have been meaning to look into this issue. I will try to compare the wiring on the 2023’s OBD2 port to make sure the pins should be the same for the triggers. Also, I would check in your radio. There may be different door settings on the upgraded infotainment center.

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  7 місяців тому

      When you open the back doors, do you get an indicator on the dash telling that the back door is open?

      Are your rear windows working?

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  7 місяців тому

      Also, did you buy the boards or did the shop? The part number for the 2023 Chevy crew cab is AMP-76255-01A. Might want to make sure it’s the right part number.

    These dont have any door magnets to install like the rough country ones?

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  6 місяців тому

      Magnets? What are the magnets for in the rough country steps?

    • @tylertucker4478
      @tylertucker4478 6 місяців тому

      @zachattackcustoms from other videos I've watched the magnets line up with a door sensor and that's what drops the step when you open the door. If the amp plug into the obd2 can I still use my scanner that plugs into my obd2 24/7 or will I have to pull out the amp one to use my scanner

    • @zachattackcustoms
      @zachattackcustoms  6 місяців тому

      @@tylertucker4478 Oh, yea the Amp Steps don't require door magnets. It's just plug and play. What I do when I need to use my scanner is just unplug the steps and then plug them back in when I am done with the scanner. Amp Research does sell a splitter if you don't want to worry about unplugging and plugging back in.
