Some facts about the three Archons and their three regions that you may not have known.
00:03 - You'll frequently come across adventurers being attacked by monsters, girls looking for ingredients In Mondstadt, or people in need around Inazuma.
While in Liyue, you will only encounter Random Events that require defeating the enemy.

Venti - Zhongli - Ei
Each Archon's name is based on one of the 72 demons mentioned in the Ars Goetia, one of the books in the Lesser Key of Solomon.
Venti - Barbatos is one of the dukes of Hell.
Zhongli - Morax is a president of Hell.
Ei/Makoto - Baal is the first king of Hell.
11:37 - They all have different types of vessels.
Venti is the current form of Barbatos.
Zhongli used Exuvia form during the Rite of Descension.
Ei's vessel is Raiden Shogun.
12:00 - They all have "beast" friends.
Dvalin is an Anemo dragon.
Azhdaha is an Earth dragon.
Yae is a kitsune.
12:21 - The three Archons are frequently teased about their lack of Mora.
Venti spends all of Mora's earnings on drink, and frequently asks listeners to buy him alcohol.
Ei doesn't need Mora because she has the Tri-Commission to get what she wants.
Zhongli regularly forgot his wallet and had to rely on Wangsheng Funeral Parlor to cover his expenses.

Makoto's Archon name is Baal (mentioned in the Ars Goetia, one of the books in the Lesser Key of Solomon)
Ei's Archon name is Beelzebul (mentioned in the Books of Kings, referring to a deity worshipped by the Philistines, written as בַּעַל זְבוּב, Baʿal Zəvûv.)
They are very related.
What I mean in the video is that the names of the Archons are all mentioned in Ars Goetia except Ei.
Ei is not the original Archon, she is playing the role of Makoto, under the name Baal.
Sorry for not making this clear in the video.
She isn't even playing the role of Makoto, she IS the current Archon of Inazuma and she isn't working under the name of Baal. Ei took the title of the Shogunate after the death of Makoto. Basically it's like when a king dies, his son/daughter take over the throne but don't rule under the name of the king aka their father. Idk why people tend to ignore such an obvious detail.
Beelzebul and Baal are associated togehter. All gods not only archons have names derived from ars goetia. They were one, Makoto and Ei are the electro god both together. Makoto was never the one, they ruled together but only 1 could carry the gnosis and the title of the electro archon to the world there was only one and known as Baal.

@@rajadarshidash1016 That's exactly how it works they're both the incarnation of lightning. They won the archon war together as one , but since only 1 could carry the title and the gnosis, Makoto who had more talent for rule became tho shogun and Ei who liked martial arts became her kagemusha (body double,shadow), they were 2 halves of the same thing. When Makoto died Ei took over Makoto's role and titles.

That's probably because Ei is the OG "Pet" of previous Archon.
If Dvalin and Azhdaha is something like the Archon sidekick then Ei is quite literally the muscle of Electro Archon.
Then again just like Venti with the 4 winds and Zhong Li with his army of Yaksha and Adeptus, Electro Archon used to have his own elite army made up of elite japanese Youkai (Tengu, Kitsune, and Oni)

according to urokusai she's one of the strongest yokai, smart enough to trick whole inazumans to participate in moonless night ceremony while selling her own book and she doesn't take much space what's not to love?
10:11 raiden doesn't hold a fake vision because, unlike venti and zhongli, she doesn't hide the fact that she's the archon. archons don't need visions, so her having one would be pointless since her people have always known
The tattoo on Ei is really ironic considering that tattoos in Japan are ridiculously unpopular.

Another fun facts about these three archons is from the weapons they wear has been leaked by the character who first met the traveler such as amber (bow), xiangling (polearm), and kazuha also thoma which also represented the dual weapons of the shogunate (sword and polearm).

IMO, in the archon department, Venti is the most successful and competent at his job. Although not as influential, like Zhongli was to Liyue, or not as present, like Ei and the Shogun are to Inazuma, the people of Mondstadt follow him with utmost trust, and the repercussions of his actions to protect and reform the nation in earlier times still shine brightly in the culture of the country.
Venti fell aslept on the job for hundreds of years, maybe a thousand after killing Deca...w/e and build new town. SHowed up one time, overthrew leadership and went asleep again for hundreds of years, then archon war, then fell asleep again so it seems. He did fight a dragon at one point.
Now he's jus a drunken bard who steals food from Dawn Winery.

Even if Venti is drunkard now, when Mond will have hard times instead of instantly solve the trouble, he'll let his people do the main work, while supporting them, and it makes so much sense for god of freedom to let Mond rule itself

@@joekickass8943 and actually after the fall of decarabian (think that was his name) he did stay around for a while to help the people of mondstadt rebuild. Sometime during that period he fell asleep to regain his power, than he woke up again just as the aristocracy in Mondstadt hit its peak and helped Vanessa on the sidelines and even though he probably didn’t play as crucial as a role if he wasn’t there than I doubt that they would’ve overthrown the Lawrence clan. I don’t remember if he fell asleep again after that, but during the Cataclysm Dvalin and him had to fight Durin which was one of the strongest monsters during the Cataclysm. After defeating Durin though, Venti and Dvalin were both affected by him (I can’t remember exactly what it was right now sorry) which caused him to sleep for another 500 years and Dvalin to go crazy eventually and start attacking Mondstadt. So no he wasn’t lazy and even though he is a drunken bard nowadays it would be weird to say that he didn’t help his nation at all and these are just the events we know of. Also considering his ideal was freedom, he handled his rule really well and also now that Morax has let it so his people rule Liyue, we could kind of consider what he was doing ahead of his time. Sorry this is super long and I don’t know if everything is factually correct but I just wanted to see how much I remember of Venti

6:58 The big statue in Inazuma isn't an Archon Statue; it's a very recent statue (built for the vision hunt decree) which is theorized to represent Istaroth, the Goddess of Time
Only mondstadt has it's Archon's statue. The statue in inazuma is not that of Raiden Shogun but a higher power called "omnipresent god"
And it wouldn't be there if it weren't for the Raiden Shogun's order for the Vision Hunt Decree that was planned by the Fatui.

A random note about the lions:
In traditional Chinese culture, the guardian lions typically come in a male and female pair, differentiated by the thing under their paw. Females have a cub, while males have a smooth ball (if I remember correctly).
Since Genshin only has lions with smooth balls under their paws, it essentially means gay lions are protecting Liyue.
Whether that is intentional is debatable.

Also the random thought of Traveler having lesser version of the Archon's abilities/bursts but swapped:
Venti's Q / Anemo Traveler E - A wind vortex with suction
Venti's E / Anemo Traveler Q - A wind current that lifts enemies (please buff anemo trav's Q)
Zhongli Q / Geo Trav E - Big rock(tm)
Zhongli E / Geo Trav Q - Quakes (and to some degree a barrier)
Ei's Q / Electro Trav E - Energy generation
Ei's E / Electro Trav Q - Off field energy gen (and electro dot)
So we can guess what the dendro archon abilites will be once we get dendro traveler o3o

So only the Raiden Shogun puppet has this tattoo on the back of her neck? Ei truly doesn't have this tattoo, but Mihoyo didn't even bother to edit it out of Ei. Hell, Ei's current appearance is that of her puppet.
Just saying that Vanti is most of the time accused for "no caring about his people" and "leaving them without a god" BUT it was Zhongli who put a whole city under be-erased-from-map danger just to test them then retire (and 'only' he knows that). Ei by her decisions and escaping problems partly became danger to her own country. Venti was the one who actually helped people when they were in trouble which he did not cause. What an irony
It really is. Not the no caring part. But the fact that he's suffered when he became the god of freedom, because he lost his dearest friend. What freedom is there when you rather drink wine to forget the lonely past. He admitted it during the confrontation with stanly too.

Lots of people give venti to much credit. I will agree that venti is falsely accused when people say “he doesn’t care about his nation”. but keep in mind that Venti’s absences and lack of surveillance can indirectly lead to things like slavery, dragon attack a second dragon attack. Venti definitely cares about his nation but his absences causes problems. Now how does he fix these well indirectly is and understatement. Example Durin, calls upon his own personal dragon to fight for him meanwhile while Davalin is fighting for his life Venti is busy telling the people of Mondstade how screwed they are. literally he sanded songs of doom and despair. Venti did close to nothing while Davalin may or may not have gotten poisoned which is his arrogance as an archon neglect. And it wouldn’t be until the abyss order came and fricked up Davalin even more that Venti would realize oh maybe I fricked up. So ya venti cares a Lot but he’s neglectful and tends to act a little to late which causes problems.

The aristocracy was the fault of humans. The royalty were the ones who were neglectful and filled with arrogance and pride. The royals whose ancestors made a vow and promise to Mondstadt and Barbatos himself to protect and serve. (Source: Royal weapons set)
Why would Venti survey Mondstadt? Barbatos is the God of Freedom. Mondstadt is the land of freedom. He stated in game he created Mondstadt to be a city free without rule.
Venti: I don't like the idea of "ruling" Mondstadt and I don't feel Mondstadt would really like it either.
Jean: Go forth and establish a city of freedom without rule. We have not forgotten Barbatos' wish for Mondstadt.

Venti putting Mondstadt in surveillance goes against his ideals as a God. Its like asking Zhongli to close an eye and look the other way on a contract.
Barbatos has never turned his back on his people. He has always been there for them, he doesn't baby his people, he expects them to solve their own problems themselves, because this is what Mondstadt agreed with their God.
And if its beyond human ability you bet Venti is going to be there supporting his people in the shadows like he has done 3 times.
@@drhyde9289 the entire second half of this reply is what I say when I mean Venti cares about his people but saying that none of the problems of mondstadt were caused by Venti is ridiculous. Like I sated Venti cusses problems *indirectly* his absences is why the aristocracy was able to rise to power in the first place. If Venti where there beforehand maybe idk he would of been able to stop the aristocracy from ever becoming a thing. Venti doesn’t guide he’s people, he doesn’t lead them down the right path and he’s not there to make sure things don’t go spiraling out of control. Venti also solve these problems in a way that make so he isn’t doing most of the work. like why don’t we consult his character teaser and quote he made himself “but the dragon know his bard friend to long he would not share the work but dictate it through song”. Case and point. Anyway moving on to surveillance, surveillance doesn’t mean no freedom it means people can be free but they can also be watched over protected from danger. Venti doesn’t do this witch means things like the aristocracy can happen. Venti is never there to *prevent* disaster which leads to problems. Like what happens in the between time when Venti is gone bad things. Venti cares about his nation most definitely but he is neglectful and irresponsible that is his arrogance as a god like zghonli’s strictness and Ei’s shortsightedness

I always imagine how venti would be the easiest archon to pull into an adventure with us. Like just mention that he'll get money for his booze and he'll happily tag along anywhere. Cuz he was in my party the entire time I was running around the chasm, I can imagine bragging to keqing ang ganyu how easy exploring the chasm was becuz the anemo archon was helping me, and seeing the surprised look on their faces when I mention it. 😂
I belive that Zhongli didn't need a wallet before because he could make mora by himself - after all he's the one who created mora to begin with and was literally a god.
But after he gave up his gnoxis he lost his power and can no longer create money.
He can't get used to wallet.
I bet he tries but it's really hard considering that in the past he didn't need to pay for anything or he could easily create coins.

Gnosis have nothing to do with god power, it just thing to give archon status and maybe a key for open celestia, look at Ei she didn't wear her gnosis at all after Makoto dead and she still freaking strong.
Zhongli just want to live the life of normal human and try as hard as possible not to "cheat" it by just build mora anytime.
@@UNdeadTAS Gnosis actually does have something to do with the Archon's power. It's sort of like a catalyst, to enhance the archon's elemental abilities. It also ties them to celestia, sort of like a god tracker. But you're right, DONGli's (zhongli) ability to create mora from nowhere is unaffected by the gnosis, he's been doing it since before the Archon War, and the gnosis got handed out after the original Archon War.
@@Azmyuth from what I read (could be wrong but I'm gonna say anyways), Gnosis could be seen as an amplifier/Celestia GPS tracker. Gnosis could give the archons strength in terms of raw power based on the followers he/she got, and yes the abilities of Dongli(Zhongli) and SUSti(Venti) are their own strength, but with the Gnosis, Archons can amplify the strength of what they have now into multiple times.
For example, Dongli once threw multiple gigantic spears to seal his enemies, creating the stone forest as we see now. but with Gnosis gone, he can only throw his spear and point blank (charged atk).
So yeah before Dongli already had the power to manipulate Mora, but do remember he said 'to the people of Liyue' and not the entire Teyvat. it's after he gained Gnosis his power is amplified and able to produce to all of Teyvat. Right now after losing his Gnosis, he can still manipulate Mora, but after being an archon for thousands of years, he truly knows the importance of Mora value is and what happens if he just manipulate out of it blindly, causing the abundance of Mora that will result in economy inflation due to the value of currency(Mora) dropped.
So yeah he refuses to create Mora for himself, but due to habits die hard, he forgot to bring wallet nowadays as he is never needed to use Mora during his Archon days.
I like to think of childe as his sugar daddy
To be precise, Ganyu in chinese (the game's original language) never mentioned Dendro Archon's gender. He/she is the mistakes of the translators.

Venti’s constellation name is Carmen Dei, which means Song of God. Zhongli’s is Lapis Dei, which means Stone of God. Makoto’s might have been Fulgur Dei, meaning Lightning of God, or Tonitrus Dei, meaning Thunder of God.
Don't forget Zhongli is a consultant at Wangsheng which means he technically has a paying job. It's just he's not used to carrying money around, not cause he's poor.
This. People joke about him being broke but I doubt he is. He has a job and he's always getting requested for help by wealthy people (example: the fatui).

I feel the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt aren't as strong as the Millileth or Inazuman soldiers because they aren't as used to conflict other than Slimes and Hilichurls that's why they flinch at our attacks. Inazuma just came from a civil war and the Millileth have been fighting alongside Rex Lapis and the adepti for centuries. Though the stronger Knights of Favonius could've also went with Varka in the expeditions.

Just a minor musing: While Kujou Sara is a leader, her leadership does not really extend to running major matters in the country unlike the other two. To the players it does seem she's the face of the Tenryou Commission since she tends to oversee some of the Commission's matters personally, but the main runner of the Commission is Kamaji.
Also since Inazuma maintains the Shogun as the head of state, I would say Jean and Ningguang ranks higher than Sara in their respective countries' hierarchies and in international meetings they're more likely to meet the Shogun if she doesn't designate any of the 3 heads of the commissions (of which only 1 of them is led by a playable character) as a representative.
To note, Kamaji runs the Kujou household in lieu of Takayuki (who is currently waiting for his sentence from the Shogun), while the Kujou Encampment in Kannazuka is run by Masahito. So in terms of hierarchy Sara is more of a field leader than a runner of state affairs.
This order of hierarchy might have a relation to her status as an adopted daughter of the Kujou clan, as high-end positions usually prioritize in-born clan offspring first, individual merit second.

3:05 I don't think their element related to archon, they are leaders but not the most powerful leaders. Higher than Jean we have Varka, all Qixing have the same power in Liyue, they just work in different aspects, and higher than Sara we have Takayuki or Ayato.
The dei in constellations as cool as it is, is en localization made up, og in cn Venti's con is "divine song spirit", Zhongli is "rock king god" and Raiden "overlord". Yae's is almost identical to Venti with "divine fox spirit". You could also sort of argue Yae, Xiao, Ganyu, Yanfei have themselves in the con pictures just in their beast forms, perhaps albedo as a fetus in a flask too. Raiden is less like traveler is the sense that she's visionless and more like Zhongli and Venti where she had a gnosis but now presumably just takes her power out of being an elemental being. Traveler is the only one who truly has no vision.
adding that apparently the vision archons wear are fake and raiden doesn't wear visions cause she's not really hiding her identity as an archon

Venti has the saddest relationship with mora, I mean all other Archon got another people to pay for their bill, but Venti sometime couldn't even afford any food that he often steals some apple from Diluc's winery
Just one thing about the guards not reacting to attacks: Mondstat guards patrol unarmed, so the game uses the animations for being attacked common for most NPCs, Liyue's and Inazuma's are often carrying spears, and that alone doesn't let them react.

If you think about it, the Raiden Shogun's appereance actually resembles to Makoto, and since she and Ei are both physically identical twins... We could say that... Ei's vessel / appereance looks like herself so as Makoto at the same time? So her vessel (the raiden shogun) would actually be her own appereance.

Not only does ine side represent Makoto and the other Ei, Shogun also wears the hair accessories of both of them. One had the little fan thing, the other the flowers (I think it was flowers). She wears it as a single fusion piece.

10:20 The reason the Traveler has a similar constellation to the Archons is likely to be because it's hinted that the Traveler and their sibling were the heirs to the throne in their original world.
There's a quote referring to the Traveler from someone labeled K.K that says "The world you once knew is but dust, and the wonders you knew but rubble. Though you should have your own world, and your own people - lamenting what is already lost..."
This basically tells us that the original world the Travelers came from was destroyed, and they were both the only survivors and the heirs to the throne. Not only that, but they also use the elements without a Vision, and have their own (albeit sealed) power that stems from them and not an outside force. (The glowy yellow power that we attacked the Unknown God with in the beginning didn't stem from our sword, we'd already dropped it by then.) So it's likely that the Travelers themselves are gods.
It's also hinted in the Battle Pass cutscene :)
But if they were hiers in thier original world, why were they traversing through countless worlds for?

You can actually see celestia from the tip of watatsumi island, takes trial and error but it only appears in the very top left of the screen, I got bored and took the boat to liyue then with celestia in view I travelled back to inazuma and watasumi was the only place I could hit land and still see celestia.

Celesetia was visible from Inazuma before the 3d model at the time I started. It's just that people are blind or it was because usually cloudy or dark in Inazuma, or even maybe because of the fog and distance

The large statue in Inazuma doesn't represent any Archon but rather it has some similarities with the Barbatos statue in Mondstadt. There is a theory that Venti, aka Barbatos is one of the thousand children of Istaroth(God of time and a shade of the Primordial One). Remember that God of Time was also known as the God of Thousand Winds which is why the ancient temple in Mondstadt is known as Thousand winds temple? To prove it further more you will also find a sundial near it's vicinity. Before the release of Inazuma, that statue was being referred as the statue of Thousand Arms Hundred Eyed God. However, it was changed to the statue of the Omnipresent God after the release of Inazuma. If you look closely, the pendent on the statue of the Omnipresent God looks extremely similar to an eye of the storm which is heavily related to anemo than electro. All of this might not have made any sense to most so here's the final answer, the statue of the Omnipresent God represents the God of Time, Istaroth(at least to some extent). There's also a mistake you made, Makoto's name is Baal and Ei's name is Beelzebul. They are two entirely different demons in Ars Goetia.
Actually, the omnipresent God is wearing a generic oculus. The eyes of the storm are probably decabarian's oculi, as he was the God of the storm, and eyes of the storm hate venti despite being anemo lifeforms
@@mimisezlol Oculis are lost powers from the statue of the Seven which have taken somewhat of a visible form so I don't think that it has anything to do with an oculi. Ocuilis are not lifeforms, they are like puzzle pieces scattered across the lands but Eye of the Strom is a lifeform. That pendant also looks exactly like an eye which further provides a stronghold.

Well judging by how Raiden's story goes, at least the two male archons are by far the two best written characters in game. And there's a theory saying maybe there are 2 dendro archons, the true one is male. We shall see how it plays out soon.

Hydro: create water (duh..) but can traps and immobilizes enemy

It's theorize to be Istaroth, god of time, that would be why the Statue have something similar to an eye of the storm
The biggest problem in Genshin is it's story telling method. Youll never learn anything if you dont dig up every npc or anything that tells us stories.(Notes, billboards, diaries etc) We only learn the main story and nothing about the storie's background. Also no matter how much you dig in no matter how much you search or read youll always end up having a theory and nothing else in your hand. I am very well aware of that everything in the game will eventually be revealed but the road Genshin is taking is so absurd that it's story telling sucks at the moment. In some games digging up untold stories is fun, but leave the untold stories to the side Genshin doesnt even tell the some part of main story, which makes digging up frustrating and exhausting compared to the other games. Apart from every lack in the game their main concern should be this.
To be fair, the content of the game itself isn't complete, we only got 3 region out of 7 (maybe more if developer want to show Abyss and Celestia to us). It's not Zelda BOTW (or Persona series that focus on the story) where all of the content released at once. So it's normal for them to save the backstory for later, because if they reveal it now, it will just make the future story predictable.
Also, if they put all of information/story at once on the main story, players will feel bored to read lots of text. Even tho the lore/story focused on Khaenri'ah, each Archon quest isn't really connected to Khaenri'ah, the Archon quest only focus on problem on each region.
@@yanjirujan193 you say the game isn't complete, but Genshin is a game as a service. so you could go as far to argue that the game will never be complete until it gets its final update before its service ends.
The game is complete enough it could tell a competent story (if the story was actually engaging and not a snorefest)
I think part of Genshin's charm is that you have to dig through NPCs, artifact descriptions and so on to find out more about the lore. The idea is to have gamers get involved in the story and pay attention to details. Not to just casually discover all the secrets. They give you enough information in the quests to follow the story but add even more lore and backstory as a reward for those willing to dig further
@@Ghost_Out well I dunno, I very much enjoyed finding out that the entire storyline of Tsurumi island was available to us since day 1, in the form of the thunderbird fury artifact lore. Literally everyting was sitting there, since 1.0, and we came to learn more about it in person in 2.2, an entire year later. I think that it goes to show that they have thought through a lot of things, and that all we have to do is wait for them to tie it all together, just like they did with Tsurumi.
Everything will be revealed in the story eventually.

I think your choice of words leads to a lot of misunderstandings. Knights of Favonius does NOT lead Mondsadt, it is an organization of knights and their role is more of a military group same as the tenryou commision of kujou clan. They do not govern or whatsoever the business/economics/livelihood of the people.
You should have said that only the Knights of Favonius have a single highest ranking leader, the Grandmaster. Which is, in a way, also false because while Inazuma has a Tri commission that has division of roles, the entire region is ultimately govern and lead by Raiden, who is the defacto leader. Which makes only Inazuma to be led by a leader.
Even in Liyue, the people and Liyue Qixing pre-game timeline still consider Rex Lapis's guidance to "lead" Liyue through annual Rite of Descension. So Zhongli, is also Leading Liyue.
Lastly, it should have been Varka, not Jean who is the direct equivalent for the Anemo archon. Even Ningguang should also not be an equivalent for Zhongli because the Liyue Qixing does not have a single leader, all 7 committee is equal of rank. Which is ironic cause you consider Jean as leader of Mondsadt and Ningguang not in Liyue.
And also Sara, a General in Tenryou commision, which is Lead by the head of Kujou Clan, who is now Kujou Kamaji.
See the inconsistency? I think its just ironic because Venti has ultimately voiced out Mondsadt to never have a leader again, but then you use that exact line. Yes, I'm being technical cause it's bugging me so much.

The lore said that Ei sacrificed her body so that Makoto could take the seat in Celestia and become the Electro Archon, and Makoto then proceeded to remake Ei in her own image as a deliberate copy of herself.
Maybe Ei draws from that experience with the tattoo, the puppet Shogun, and Scaramouche?
Possible. We have to remember that the Raiden Shogun we see in Inazuma is the Shogun puppet herself. The tattoo on the back of the puppet's neck is likely from the creation process when Ei made her, to differentiate that the puppet's body was created.
