- It’s Simone with her review of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 AMG. It’s a well-priced high-performance luxury subcompact SUV. Sure it is the V6 version of the AMG car, not the beastly V8 one from the GLC63 AMG but it still offers more than enough driving fun.
This AMG version of the GLC43 has a 3.0 litre V6 Biturbo made by AMG with 270 kW of power and 520 Nm of torque.
In every other respect, this Mercedes is an awesome car. It’s very potent, great to drive, designed really well, packed with comfort and safety tech - simply put, one great car.
It offers some stiff competition against its main rivals in the Porsche Macan, Audi SQ5, and BMW X3.

Just traded my GLC 300 in on the GLC 43 AMG. I drove the Audi SQ5, the Macan S, and the Jag F-Pace, and it was a hands down comparison for me. ////AMG

Absolutely 100% stunning , not bad car aswell.
You forgot, this is a direct competitor to the Audi SQ5 and probably there’s a BMW equivalent in their line up somewhere too but to answer your question I’d probably go for the Macan first with the SQ5 second as I prefer it’s more understated styling inside and out but neither would I say an outright no to the Merc, it’s just not quite my preference.
What about the excessive front tyre wear and crabbing when turning ?

You can get Apple CarPlay and Android auto. Its a option from factory but its not standard. You can have the Mercedes deal add it for $250
For the price, comfort and standard equipment glc 43 is the best still.
But 8.7L/100km? Try more like 12-13 in real life. I do tons of freeway and at around 10k at the moment, 11L is what I get. And The 9 speed far from perfect. If driving is more of your focus go for the Macan, of course you need to cough up at least $20-30k for the spec-for-spec options on the v6 with much less back space. Another option would be fpace 380 but also needs an extra $20-30k with a much less premium cabin.

I prefer the Macan over the GLC. The steering response is amazing. I have not been into a GLC.. I am excited about how both of these shoulder up.

GLC43 all the way! I gotta coddle the future wife in class and safety - this ride is one of the very few 2018 cars that earned top marks from the NHTSA. Simone, you’re so tall you make that SUV look small.

Benzinio I traded my C63s for the GLC43 AMG and why? Because I love the air suspension and the exhaust note is pleasing to hear. My 0 to 60 time? 4.2 seconds. Why do I need my C63s where I only got 4.2 to 4.0 to 60? Doesn’t make any sense!
David Orgun Basically this is the same engine you can find in the 400 models in the whole range - not very AMG like huh? ;)
This engine is related to Chrysler Pentastar family engines and it is real shame to call it AMG. Why you paid the extra cash for AMG badge without having AMG product is entirely your problem, but please do not tell me this is an proper AMG!

And here is the thing David, Mercedes charged you a lot of money for a badge you don't care about and then gave you a fake product.
This had to be a normal top of the range GLC but adding AMG badge on it they charge you extra cash for that name. Its a marketing, and unfortunately it is legal...
Benzinio it doesn’t matter. I paid cash for it and I can trade it today for something else. Everyone is different and just because I drive none hand made engine doesn’t mean I can’t afford it when people see me. I am retired and can blow my $$$$ anyhow I like.

You can get Android auto forsure. It's an extra you can have the dealership add for $250 buck.

Peter made by AMG! Suspension and power train made by AMG. Both software and hardware. I work for Mercedes and newer AMG V6 will be quicker than all V8 in the future. Besides, V8 production will be discontinued by 2023.

First of all, this is the GLC, not the GLA. However, I do understand why these city SUVs are not to gearheads' liking. As a car fan, they're pretty pointless to me, but they are selling like hot cakes, so both manufacturing and reviewing them is obviously a good idea
