Thank you very much for posting this video. My open A string was buzzing and I slipped a small piece of paper under the string at the nut as you suggested and now it sounds great!
As fairly new to the ukulele, I searched UA-cam in vain for a reason why my E string was dull and clunky on the 2nd and 3rd fret. Every video I watched suggested raised frets, but I had already eliminated that. You are the only one who suggests a frequency problem. Which I now know it is. I am now experimenting with blue tack and a coin stuck to the body, which actually works to a degree. I'm sure most beginners won't have a clue how to tackle this. How about a video featuring this problem? Many thanks Matt.
