  • During metaphase and anaphase of mitosis, we begin to see our condensed chromosomes align at the equator of the cell and seperate into the daughter chromosomes that will go their separate ways to each occupy one of the cells that result from mitosis. In this video we will discuss the specific steps of these phases and their importance in the cell cycle.

when do chromosomes attach to mitotic spindle? during prophase or metaphase? and what is a prometaphase? is it another stage of cell division? thanks!

the chromosomes actually attach to the mitotic spindle during prometaphase. Promethaphase is the phase between prophase and metaphase.
