It pains me to see that no matter how many clean up attempts from many individuals, this cave goes right back to trash in mere months. People have no respect for the world around them let alone for each other.
I have to tell you...I visited for the first time this past year. I did not go in because I didn't have any equipment(head lamps etc) so my friend and I walked around the perimeter of the cavern outside . we saw a couple of Amish kids that had been spelunking, coming up out of the ground. it was awesome. I remember saying to them, "I always wondered where the Amish come from" They thought it was funny.
Well that was very stressful. What an amazing & confident young man you had with you. My sense of direction is woeful really really bad, so I think I might have died in there. Gee, that was enjoyable. Thank you.
Great job, man! Glad to see you underground for a change. That warning sign was kind of funny. I guess that releases the State from all liability (or whoever owns the land that the cave is in). Shame about all that graffiti. Really need to get you out here to the desert Southwest for some awesome abandoned mine exploration. You’d love it!
Me and a friend took the hike up to this cave this past weekend, only walked about 10 feet in though since all we had was our phone flashlights. Super cool to see the rest of the cave, thanks for posting!
👍🏼❤️ty. Big cave. All that rock, looks dangerous. Man, goes way, way back. Mr Z in action. How cute he is. That is one cool 😎 cave.. wow, that was the best... 🙏 thanks
Great vid! I've been in Wind cave a number of times but not for about 15 years. I was cool to see it on your video. I renember squeezing through places and it got a bit hairy at times. Also remember going in during march when I slipped on ice going in, hit hard and nearly lost my light. I live near there and it is said that the first traders found pots filled with various offerings the Natives lined the long entrance with. Life can be traced back 15,000 years in that area. Also the largest consintrarion of petroglyphs on the east coast. Thanks Much! DaveyJO
Dude that was intense, almost as bad as when I watched The Descent. The tight fits had me freaking and that dude rushing through like nothing. No spelunking for me but this was cool.👍👍✌️
I'm going soon. That's all I have in the back of my mind, is that movie 🙈. That was one of the scariest movies I've seen, from the very beginning accident scene with the rebar flying through the windshield....
Wow! Great video! I remember exploring this cave over 30 years ago as a Boy Scout. I never knew where it was until now. Can’t wait to take my son exploring!
Really cool vid. Went spelunking in southern Illinois. It was a wet cave with water waist high in places. An interesting adventure with my geology class. Love your channel🐱
I been there many times before.Actually crawled a distance through jagged rocks extremely narrow. Been on top of the cave and heard high pitched laughing somewhere nearby. So if you go there don't go alone let someone know your going there. This area is haunted and use caution in that cave.
WOW!!!! What a place. I can only compare it to the slot canyon and the calcite caves in Sonora, Tx. I was very lucky to go there. My partner was a geologist. He passed away last August. He was only 65. Sigh. I hope I find another person who likes to travel, and has a curious mind!!! I truly believe that is the secret to staying young. I felt like a child, being out in the high desert. I never camped out before. Not really. He said I was a "trooper". I don't complain and am low-maintenance. RIP, Barry Smith, formerly of San Antonio......
That fellow you have with you sure is an agile young man! I see all these interesting things you pass and would love to know what they are. It is nice watching you guys do it. Made me nervous a couple times.
That was crazy. I felt anxious and claustrophobic just watching the video. Don't think I would be going in there. Nope nope nope! Great video; thanks for doing it for us scaredy cats!
That looks like fun! So many places to explore in that area! I wish I knew about them when I lived in Pennsylvania and would go to Peque Creek campground.
there is no way.......I began getting claustrophobic just watching this...does not look like fun but a way to the panic room. too bad there is no way to find out who did the vandalism but its against the law....should be a stiff fine or punishment for such defacing of public property. Glad you enjoy this type of recreation but it would never even make my list....I can't take compression rooms in haunted houses. I agree that you should never do this alone. A sudden medical emergency while caving could be fatal. Plas don't go alone.
This helps a lot, as I have been thinking about going caving here. Pretty sad that people can’t respect nature and feel the need to paint rocks. Poor rocks 😟
no like cave walk truly is scary go inside imagine the moment start earthquake same time to go back is block entrance this is class the thing no way a pass is more better see you esplore doing i enjoy to watch video
Well I do know this is one Place you do not enter alone and be sure to let someone know as a matter of fact a whole lot of People you trust.exploring is good but do it with sence.nice vid.becareful.
I've been all through this place many times. There used to be lots of bats but haven't seen any there for 10 years or so. There's a disease that's killing them plus the people running them out. It's not good for people who are claustrophobic at all. If you do go here be careful and don't take up any more parking then needed cause there isn't much. It's especially nice hiking in from Tucquan glen or the Pinnacle on a hot day when you get there it's like a walk in refrigerator.
Just in case anyone was wondering, that human turd was still there 3 years later 😂 thanks for the heads up and great video! Kinda knew where we were going with a map and your video!
As a caver myself, honestly that's the first thing I was thinking too (and I'm surprised yours is the only comment saying anything about it). People, you have no idea how easy it is to bump your head... hard... on something while doing this, until you do it and are laying on the ground for awhile right after that. You really don't wanna be that guy.
Yes Yes Yes. I have been in a cave like this, possibly this one or the one before. It has been decades ago and we called it the Pequea cave. I went with a professor and some other students. We were fine but there were some scary moments, in any case.
I meant to say there were many opportunities to bump a head hard on that trip. Not much graffiti or trash and we didn't leave any except my husbands favorite pocket knife that was dropped into a crevasse and clattered down down down for a long time.
I use to explore that cave years ago till I heard from some friends about a guy who died there. Apparently he was crawling on his stomach and a rock got wedged under his belly and he wasnt able to back out or turn around. It's sad to see the cave all junked up. Years ago it was a beautiful place to explore
You should keep a diary or logbook on your hikes and list wh as t video is to each. Whst do you teach and what grade level? This cave Is bigger than it looks, I thought ghb ht it would only go about 25 to 50 feet deep.
They should have to pay to have it cleaned up. And pay a thousand dollar fine.No since in spraying these rocks. These idiot's have no respect for nature.
Just coming onto this video of yours. Now I understand why the cave rescue in that cave a year or so ago was so long and intense. Someone slipped and became wedged in one of the smaller areas.
I wouldn't explore in such places without climbing equipment. You need ropes, hard hats, a first aid kit, candles, direction markers, a grappling hook, rations plus stove, waterproofs and pegs to fix into cracks. Lack of preparation hastens disaster. It is imperative you go properly prepared and you know the grading of your climb / descent.
It pains me to see that no matter how many clean up attempts from many individuals, this cave goes right back to trash in mere months. People have no respect for the world around them let alone for each other.
mopslopanbucket right on
You had the best darn guide to take you through that. A fearless young'un. Plus he had been there before. I hope you bought him lunch! Awesome video.

Interesting that this cave was created by tectonics, not erosion.

I’m assuming the sign was due to recent rescue that have happened in there.
I was feeling the need to scream and run out just watching this
Me too Noelle. This made me nervous.

Check out 'The Descent'.......
I've been to Wind Cave a few times but haven't explored it much since I got too scared. I'm excited to go back with a better idea of where things are
headlamps and helmets are a must. my first time in, I bumped my head. bleeding and headache for hours

Anyone happen to know of any cave systems around the Scranton area in northeast Pennsylvania?
Io non riesco manco ad arrampicare scivolo e mi rompo l'osso del collo 😱😱😱

Do you ever see Bats or any other types of animals in them caves or abandoned mines
some bats every now and then.
Go to the wind cave again pleasee!

Is this a natural cave or man made?
natural
Good videos ! What's location?
Why do they call it Hell and family room?
I'm used to the erosional type caves, that we have here in Missouri, I'm sure there are some in Pennsylvania too.

I don't see what good if any comes out of going into these places? seems like people are unaware of all the bad things that can happen
A pseudo karst cave, like what we have in the Annapolis Valley
I’ll come to the caves . Every state was named after the United Nations?

Is the candle room still accessible?
Not sure, this was last year.
What state?
Pennsylvania

Ten minutes from my house!
Wow
The grafitti takes much away from the experience in there, but we have a few wild gypsum caves here in New Brunswick nothing grand in size though.
P. S.,I should add NB Canada here, where codd-balls, stuffed squid, and seaweed pie are still on the restaurant menues GRIN.
@@brianferris1233 I think a few would help to guide the way. Dont wanna be lists for days+
Wow, not my thing, looks so dangerous & don't like tight spaces, amazing so many go down & mess it up! Shame!
