      @@tyg3rpro well, if you got a couple hundred bucks to take it off him, im sure hed be more than thrilled about your lil plan. Otherwise, too much hassle for not enough truck, especially when theres a good international right outside. This is going to be too heavy to do anything without putting in several $1000s for a lift, tires, and power, plus the need for a transfercase, axle swap, all the geometry in between. Anyway, enjoy doing it when you buy it. Lmk where i can follow up on your project. Good luck.

      @@arlingo i dont have room for any more projects and besides you cant call it a questionable rescue rig if its purpose built for the task its doing and doesnt make you question wether or not it can do it right? I mean it is the questionable garage after all

    As you begin to pressure wash it and ask what to do with it, my first thought is donor cab and make it into a true service truck similar to Garfield over on Flying Sparks Garage. These are super cool trucks and would be a real asset to you on Power Tour-your own personal service truck with tools and parts!

    Even if the cab is totally FUBAR, the engine, frame and especially the lift gate service bed is worthwhile.

    This is just purely amazing, my first vehicle was a 86 or 87 Chevy C10 manual I drove my first 2 years. I did questionable driving from work at DQ, no cup holders, taking ice cream home and shifting and answering a flip phone. Premium driver I promise. Never got into an accident with that thing.

    After the wasps I was expecting you to find a snake. I see the truck came with the optional Child (Make that Adult) Proof Radiator Cap. Is the Tree Service truck going to be a future project too?
    You didn't go full undignified but when you were driving through the tall grass I was reminded of a line in a book "You can't look dignified when your having fun."

    Find a rusted out cab with a decent roof, and section a new used roof onto it. Probably a lot less work than trying to straighten that one, with better results

    Dude with the lift gate and tool bed that thing is a great work truck! Clean it up a little make sure its dependable. That chevy 350 will last forever. Little bit a banging and pinging with a hammer and you gots a decent work truck! Nice score.

    It's really cool to see an old Knapheide 700-Series service body like that! They had the long horizontal compartment on the passenger side and the short horizontal compartment on the driver side. I've been selling Knapheide parts for coming up on 11 years now, so hit me up if you need parts for it!

    Replace the whole cab and fenders sandblast the bed and repaint put in a hoist and rescue vehicle

    That has got 'Jarad's Questionable Garage' written all over it. You should repair / replace the cab and use it as it was intended. Would be perfect for your antics! (Think how many engines you could carry in the back).

    Jared, I'm not suggesting that you do a complete nut and bolt restoration, but I think you should restore it into your Questionable Garage Service truck and then instead of just paint, put your logo along the sides and back of it plus your channel sponsors. This is probably better than just a pick-up truck and better use for your business

    Get a donor truck, swap the cab and doghouse. I'd watch that, or offer it to another UA-camr, maybe sleeperdude, this is right up his alley, either way I'd watch. Would make a great tool carrier for revivals or whatever. Great video, thanks for sharing.

    I'm curious how to fix aluminum, chrome, and general oxidation on old vehicles. Wire brush and a buffing wheel along with a lot of elbow grease?

    Giant western maple tree branch, two feet thick, fell and crushed ny Airstream Argosy 28 foot motorhome project. Branch fell right over driver's compartment. I can relate. I did get the 454 running like a kitten and put all new 3/4 inch plywood floors in before the tree branch. Fortunately I had insurance. On to next curiosity....

    I just bought coilovers for my project(because my current daily(that wasn't supose to be daily) needs better springs but am still waiting for camber plates since i had two options for that(UK or Japan). Also just bought 6 speed manual for it and i think that's big thing since they are almost impossible to find for last few years.

      Dodge made a factory convertible Dakota from '89 to '91, they made something like 3,000 of them in total. I saw one on Marketplace for $3k the other day.

    honestly seeing it drive around at the end especially ... I hope someone buys it (if you dont keep it) ... it has character and (i know i know "the price of things are too high to justify putting money into that truck) .... but it deserves a new life ... fix up enough stuff ... maybe get the body issues taken care of and paint it ... well like i said it has character

    My curiosity has been tweaked here. Did the fuel pump have a return line? I saw only a single line to your fuel tank. So I wonder about the fuel return line. I think the fuel return line started around 1979.

    In this shape, with the roof "fixed", even if you manage to find glass that would fit, would it be road legal? I mean, is there another future for that truck beside being a part donor? Unless, of course you go all the way and find a replacement cab for it.

    Think about this Jared, you pull a old rusty Chevy Silverado work truck with a v-notch roof from the weeds, get it started and put a couple hundred bucks into it and it you take it to the scrapyard you might make your money back. Hoovie needs to take some advice from you bc he’s buying Maseratis, bmws and Bentleys and loosing his ass with them, lol.

    Same year as me. . had lots of these trucks. 70s 80s 90s. Saved very beautiful nice 1989. GMC Sierra 3/4 had a bad 350. And I did a engine swap vortec engine same year as my sister. I don't like putting good running truck s in the tree row. That's why I sold my old Dodge ram for farm use not for road use. It's better than scape yard. Rather see it being used or something like that. Some people don't care or they scape good stuff. That's how I got my new to me 89 GMC OBS .

    10:08 and all the Square Body enthusiasts are SCREAMING at their screens to lubricate those hood hinges before you get the hood bent out of shape!
    17:02 and now you know my pain with my Buick Lucerne; and all because it’s a Group 79 which was exclusively for GM’s big sedans (and I think the Hummer H2 used it too) and it’s now getting to the point where my employer (a large big box store with a Spark Logo) basically tells any customers with a vehicle that has a Group 79 battery to go pound sand because Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls) no longer makes a Group 79 in the “Spark” brand anymore.
