Sign at 3:45 says "Parking for Blåmann Sports Park only". Generally in Norway (and Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states) the "freedom to roam" laws and customs mean you can walk around freely on both private and public land as much as you want and take pictures of whatever nature you like, so it's a bit funny seeing you being so worried about it. As long as you take care not to be a nuisance, stay away from private gardens and don't disturb animals or crops you're generally fine. Thanks for a lovely video and sharing the lovely photography.
I really enjoyed this video, thank you very much. What is different to so many videos is you explain your thought process so clearly from what you are looking to achieve and then how you go and get it. As somebody who bought their first DSLR at Christmas i really took a lot from this video, so thanks.
I really love the first image. It has such a nice subtle look to it the way the sun kisses the side of that mountain. Such a small thing but it really brings the image alive.
Loved seeing you Partner/Wife with you on this one. Tell her to get involved more often, you love her and I'm sure we all will too =) Was nice seeing your someone special.
+Christine Bilby Definitely agree on that. My first thought when he left the car: "Is she just waiting in the car or does she walk around on her own while he is stumbling around having fun taking great landscape photos?" So I was a bit concerned for her. ;)
Not only you take amazing pictures and humbly say it's an "ok" picture, you are also great in front of the camera and we get to learn something as well along the way. And the videos... watching a 20min video without ever losing interest, this has to tell something. Iceland was already on my bucket list, Norway is now on its way! Thanks!
I visited Tromso sometime in November 2013, and this video really brings back a lot of the memories from Tromso! Thank you Thomas, lovely video as usual!
Through your narration and images I'm starting to see in a different way. Thank you very much for these great videos, the effort, the knowledge and seeing places I would never see otherwise. All the best!
Hooray! Couldn't wait to get back home and watched this long-awaited video in my phone... Now will have to rewatch it at home... It was great! I was crewing a ship moored at Tromso harbour in the summer of 2003, it's a beautiful part of Norway! Big up!
Yes! Finally a new video. Great images, even those in the beginning that you didn´t fancy so much. The simplicity with the pic with the red house is just great. It doesen't have to be too complicated. Thanks for the upload.
Normally it's hard to watch that long video. But your videos are very interesting and full of information, adventure and gorgeous views ; can't get bore from these. Thanks man I love your work.
These vlogs are great. I like that you actually are out taking photos and not just showing us how to process on a computer. Keep them up, incredible work and incredible images! Thanks for posting.
Tromso during the polar light hours just before sun comes back is magnificent.Start of january. You get 4h of constant soft light with purple sky and blueish landscape.
wish my ok pictures were as good as yours thomas .like a person below has said you put so much effort in its amazing .i could watch your videos for hours .superb again as always
So looking forward to the next video! It's been fun seeing great images (like the red house!) posted to Facebook and then seeing on UA-cam how those images came about.
Thomas, You don´t know how much inspiration you are to an amateur photographer like me. i always check for your new videos everyday. The good thing about your video is no nonsense, it´s purely photography. Keep doing ##support and love from germany###
You vlogs are an inspiration, especially for someone who is new to photography. Thank you for making content that is more about the composition than the numbers behind a shot.
First vlog of you I've ever seen! Love it so much! The way you were talking about the red house with the snow falling and the bird on top of it without showing anything before you revealed the full photo was quite impressive :) Keep up the great work!
As always, Thomas, very informative and inspirational. To add commentary while running around "trying to get the shot", adds a few more layers of challenges, (audio / video / dialog / editing it.....), to the process! To do all of this, you have had A LOT of practice and therefor are very comfortable in sharing what you do with all of us. Thank you for taking the EXTRA time it takes you to put your videos together. They are very helpful! Also, thank you for your FAQ page as well!
Bloody hell you put so much into these video's, I cant wait for the next one, its great to see how excited you get and how much effort you put into the composition. Looks like you have a very patient partner!
Wow! Your work is amazing. This is simply the best photography channel on UA-cam. I'm so glad I discovered it. Am now in the process of watching every one of your videos. Thanks and congrats again on the wonderful images!
Aah beautiful shots! I lived in Tromsø(Tromso) for two years when I went to school. I saw my old apartment in the video. Now I live in Sandnes, Norway.
Amazing work there Thomas. You are the Man vs Wild of photography. Loved those images you captured, especially the red house with bird on top. Beautiful.
Brings back great memories. I had a wonderful time in Arctic Norway and it's given me some of my favourites images. Senja, where you're going next, has given me my favourite images of the Northern Lights. Thanks for reminding me one of my best phtoography trips. And good to hear you had a great time too.
I love everything you do... your filming... your shooting... best photographer tube channel for me! and I love that music when you showing your photos :)) drama...
Loved your video. We were in Tromso in July and went to the same beach that you walked on. It was truly amazing and Norway in general has amazing friendly people and great venues to create wonderful images. Keith from Canada
Thanks for another great video . I totally enjoy how you take the time to explain your creative process , thats what makes these videos so special. Keep up the great work and BTW your images are spectacular.
fantastic place for photos, we went 2weeks before you and got some great shots of the fjords and whale's. next time visit sommaroy on the coast about 30 minutes drive from tromso . keep shooting and posting .
Call me crazy... but had to watch my 'Red Hut' print being captured. The story behind the images always helps bring it to life. Super Excited and can't wait to receive my Limited Print. =)
Thomas, I absolutely LOVE your videos. I'm just starting out with landscape photography and you have given me a lot of inspiration and technique! Thanks so much for what you're doing and keep up the GREAT work!
I have got to say, your videos are excellent mate! inspiring, chilled, non spammy, authentic and did I say inspiring. Keep it up man! Let me know if you're ever in New Zealand...
I love following your wonderful adventures! I do have a request though - before you take a picture and as your setting up, can you try to show us the scene? The red building as an example - I was wishing I could have seen what your "eye" was seeing pre-composition. I guess i'm new enough to landscape shooting that i'm still trying to figure out what's "catching" peoples eyes pre-composition. Keep up the great work and I really enjoy your channel.
+shiftclick46 Yes, i was concerned about this. With the red house, it was snowing and I had little time before my lens got soaked. There was absolutely nowhere to put the gopro and to add to my problems, I left the settings on "Narrow". This scene only just made the cut.
I love all your videos, but this one is especially inspiring. The images you produced are the best I've seen on your channel so far. Keep up the good work!
We flew direct to Tromsø from Gatwick South Terminal in 2014 using Norwegian Air. I know you're travelling from Manchester but the direct flight option (and service form the airline) was fantastic! BTW - Love the videos and always look forward to watching when a new one is posted. Keep up the good work!
Now that was awesome.I can't believe how touchy and motivating that video was.You show all of the trip, your small vacations and explain how you shot, everything.well done mate, keep up the great work! :)
Lovely video. It was nice seeing your wife this time. I always wondered what she does, when you're photographing all these amazing places you guys travel to.
Nice travel doco Thomas, nice to see your better half that keeps you under control :) where was your dog by the way? Lovely images you got in Norway, well done.Made me smile when you were unsure if you were on private property, been there a few times myself.
As a Norwegian I loved this episode. Maybe even more so than some of your other ones. Recognition I guess. :D Living in Bergen though, it's not the snow that usually gets in the way, it's the rain. Anyway, thanks for all your great videos!
Hope you enjoyed Norway! I live in Bergen, Norway! Really enjoyed your video and great pictures! Hope I could meet you if you ever came to Norway again!
I've often thought to myself " I need some foreground and i need it now!" but it's awesome to hear someone else say it.. we are kin :D great video Thomas..
really great photos! makes me want to travel and take pictures😊 really like the colors in your photos! anything special you do to get your blues pop like that?
That solitary red house by the water is a gorgeous image, id have that on my wall, appreciate you taking us with you!
The red house with the bird on top is amazing ! what a shot.
the photo of the little red house is flipping awesome!! good work man, keep it up.

Thanks for a lovely video and sharing the lovely photography.
I know you said it was hard for you to make these videos, but you need to make more!! You're a huge inspiration.
+Larry Pang Thank you. I'm working on making the process easier & better quality.
Brilliant video Thomas! So lovely to see your wife with you there too.
Aaaaaah, that last image! One of my all-time favourites.
The lone red building in the snow is one of my all time favourites of all your photos that I’ve seen. Simply splendid. JoAnne
You never disappoint with your videos.
Pleased that this one was longer than usual and was still disappointed when it finished.
You're an inspiration
Awesome, need you on TV! I’m out walking after watching these every spare bit of time i have.
I really enjoyed this video, thank you very much. What is different to so many videos is you explain your thought process so clearly from what you are looking to achieve and then how you go and get it. As somebody who bought their first DSLR at Christmas i really took a lot from this video, so thanks.
I think we underestimate the fact that the picture of the red house just wouldn't be the same without the bird bang in the middle! great work
I really love the first image. It has such a nice subtle look to it the way the sun kisses the side of that mountain. Such a small thing but it really brings the image alive.
Every time I watch a new video from you it is better than the last! The shot with the red house is absolutely top-notch. Loved every minute.
Loved seeing you Partner/Wife with you on this one. Tell her to get involved more often, you love her and I'm sure we all will too =) Was nice seeing your someone special.
+Christine Bilby Fully agree, but a bit rude to let her push the trolley at the airport ;-)
+Christine Bilby Definitely agree on that. My first thought when he left the car: "Is she just waiting in the car or does she walk around on her own while he is stumbling around having fun taking great landscape photos?" So I was a bit concerned for her. ;)
This is his career people
He wants to keep his life private. This is his career and his wife is personal.
Not only you take amazing pictures and humbly say it's an "ok" picture, you are also great in front of the camera and we get to learn something as well along the way. And the videos... watching a 20min video without ever losing interest, this has to tell something.

Thank for your comment. That's very kind.

Maaaan I do like the picture of the minute 8:31! That foreground reflection effect is a composition masterpice, well done.
Yes! Finally a new video. Great images, even those in the beginning that you didn´t fancy so much. The simplicity with the pic with the red house is just great. It doesen't have to be too complicated. Thanks for the upload.

These video clips are getting better and better all the time. I'm glued to the screen. Keep up the fantastic work you do Thomas.
That rock on the third photo really made it moody. So alone, yet so strong. Very nice! Love your videos. Keep it up! Cheers from Sweden.

+Ian Brown I do, she is very understanding and after 8 years, she gets the ways of the camera.
I do love it when your other half realises that she might be on camera - the look on her face is a picture in itself :)
