In this video we will show how to replace the 3637-0022-0189 IR sensor. The IR sensor receives the signal from the remote control and sends the request to the main board. If your remote control is not working with your TV, there are a few tests that you can run to determine if your remote control is working or not.
Using the camera on your cell phone or a video camera, point the remote at the camera, look through the viewer for the camera, and then press a button repeatedly on the remote and see if you can see the light flashing on the front of the remote.
If you can see the light, then you know your remote control is working and there is most likely a problem with your IR sensor. If you cannot see the light, then it is recommended to replace the batteries in your remote and test again.
After replace the batteries, test again through the camera. If you still cannot see the light, then there is a problem with the remote, but if you do see the light, then your remote is good and there is most likely a problem with the IR sensor, and it should be replaced.
We will start by removing the back cover off the TV.
The IR sensor for this TV is located in the lower right corner. We have put a red box around the area.
Our TV in this video is a tester, so we do not have any screws in some places that your TV might have screws, but we will still go through the motions of removing the screws for the tutorial.
Remove the screws on the keypad controller and then gently lift it away from the IR sensor.
Remove the screws on the IR sensor.
Carefully lift the IR sensor and disconnect the cable.
Using the replacement IR sensor, reconnect the cable and put it back into place.
Install the screws.
Align the keypad controller and insert the screws.
Install the back cover on the TV and test the IR sensor with your remote.

Jimmy, Is it the same principal for a VCR? Remote won't turn on VCR/DVD-R! Power to the unit works fine.

Hey guys, i have a problem with my philips 40pfl3078t/12.
The screen is dark and all the inputs work.
I have done some tests and with the flashlight test i saw that i have a picture, so the problem must be with the backlighting.
But how do i go about changing it or fixing it on this tv?
I opened the backpanel and could only see 2 boards and speakers, even after removing a cover.

Sir my LG LED TV model no 26LS3700-TB is not turning on when i switch on the power screen is black and red power signal is blinking 3 times and stops but the screen remains black. How can I repair? Is there any problem related to motherboard or capacitor?

I bought the IR sensor from you guy and it worked out great! Very fast shipping, I got the part in three days! But your Cell phone test of the remote did not work with my Iphone camera. One out of 4 remotes worked testing with the Iphone, so I knew this test was not working. I tested with a digital camera (not cell phone), and the remote tested fine. You might want to edit your video to include the test does not work with all cell phone cameras.
