Pearlfish are quite fascinating creatures. They use the sea cucumber's body as a sort of shelter, emerging at night to go and hunt for small crustaceans, returning to safety during the day when its predators are more likely to be nearby.

@@soniaortiz486 it's only a parasite if the fish are eating or causing harm to the sea cucumber. It is a type of symbiotic relationship though, but it might not be a parasitic one. It might be a mutually beneficial relationship or a one sided relationship too.

I'm not all that interested in preparing and eating crazy sea life, but I will watch 15 min of this dude living his best life and enjoy it.

The yellow slimy stuff is the sea cucumber's intensinal tract. It pushes it out in distress, then grows a new one. The eel fish that comes out with it is not a parasite, it simply uses the sea cucumber's anus as a shelter, just to rest inside. Earth's various forms of life are marvelous.

The small fish' organs are actually pretty intriguing. I think it's amazing how even the smallest of organisms have such complex systems inside their body which are "so small that it's hard to make out" nature is awesome

Yes, this is actually normal for any fish that can fit inside the sea cucumber to live inside it for protection. This sea cucumber is actually a nice sea cumber with those spots it has, would be nice to keep it in a reef tank, they do clean the sand from detritus.

I was having a swimming lesson out in the ocean when my coach actually stepped on a sea cucumber and made it eject the substance, we had to swim as far as we could from the sea cucumber and later removed it from the ocean after the lesson, a very interesting defense mechanism.

it is normal to see sea cucumber in Chinese cuisine.
These jelly like texture food such as pork leg, sea cucumber, fish lip ...etc were usually seen as full of collagen and good for maintaining good looking (make ones skin looks nice and feel elastic)
