The world usually sees the westside of South central on movies and videos which is a nicer looking area, well kept homes and lawns. Outsiders don't usually see the east side of South central, watts, eastside of compton, pico union/ MacArthur park which are every bit of grimey as other cities. Nobody would drive thru watts and say it looks nice. Also I'm pretty sure T Rodgers moved to the bity and not the jungles but could be wrong. And 30s aren't NH. Having travelled quite a bit and having lived in 8+ cities, I can say with absolute certainty that this is true. Not saying LA isn’t dangerous, or is soft or nothing like that. But from a LOOKS perspective, compared to New Orleans, Jackson, MS, Memphis TN, etc…LA looks like paradise … and I’ve spent quite a bit a time in LA with a cousin who lives off of 75th and Central and another one 2 blocks from Horace Mann Middle school (who ironically we got jumped by some 60’s In 1983 and got our bikes taken! However, touching down in some of those southern cities where you see boarded up and abandoned looking houses that people still live in, some neighborhoods have a “I’m in the middle of a war zone” feel, coupled with the sweltering heat, gold grills, southern drawls, etc…it just FEELS like shit is about to jump off at any moment. But in actuality, most of the people here are nice, decent people with that southern hospitality. It just FEELS worse from a physical perspective.
18 street is the most hated in LA county from the 818 to Los Angeles but BPS are the only dudes that really gave them a fight. you also have to consider that the demographics changed a lot in that area through out the years 18 street had the advantage to recruit more. BPS still stood there ground.
As far as the demographics change goes, that's PART of the point of banging. Of course there's MANY other parts of it but along with protection for members and residents of the community its also to stop outsiders from moving in to actually CHANGE the demographics. If u keep the neighborhood full of YOUR ppl (regardless of race) then that helps with the protection aspects. Around my way there's neighborhoods that are all Latino that a blacc or white person wouldn't even think about moving too cuz it'll cause you much static and too many problems. Same as neighborhoods that are all Blacc or Asian. That's how we keep it just US by keeping ALL outsiders from considering moving in
@@purplesky4157 I remember someone telling me that MS 13 tried to start a click in the jungles but BPS shut that down quick and I kind of believe it there’s a lot of Salvadoran in that area

The reason why the gangs were able to be so widespread.. Is because almost every black person is tied to the south in some way and some families stayed and some moved. When you do your research most African Americans from LA now a lot have ties to texas, Louisiana, Mississippi. Alot of families from Chicago tie back to Mississippi and Alabama. Most new yorkers families are originally from north Carolina and South Carolina. I.E. 50cent family is originally from South Carolina, and many more. Chris Rock etc

RIP to all the homies who lost their lives due to gang violence 💯
Bro you're not from Los Angeles you know nothing about mid City South Central West Los or the Crenshaw district why they call it the jungles that dude mistakenly left out is because all of the apartments and duplexes were so closely knit together that they put all sorts of tropical trees except palm trees because those were native southern California trees for the native Los Angeles parrots to live in which they still do to this very day and are endangered... As someone who has driven through most of the country and spent a ton of time on the east coast, hoods in the North East look the worst in the country. The South and Mid West are fairly similar. The western US definitely has the best looking hoods. That being said, the facts don't lie. The western US has the highest crime rate of any region, followed by the South, Mid West and North East being the safest. Just facts.

Western US might have the highest crime rate if you’re including petty crime and car thefts. Western US hoods are way nicer because the west part of the country is at least 100+ years newer than it’s counterparts in the south and East. Of course it’s going to look nicer.
It's the poverty that's created crime and danger, not the aesthetics of a place. The difference is really the age of the cities. Everything on the West Coast is newer and therefore cleaner than the easy coast cities. Don't get it twisted, while the poverty may look different, the hunger is the same

In The South,Houses & Neighborhoods That Look Like That Are Usually UpperClass. Yall Dont Look Soft Just Nice looking Neighborhoods Infested With Gangs. lol
"Looks" mean nothing. Places that developed into urban core cities earlier usually look worse. Take here in GA. The poor areas in the inner core of Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah and Albany look pretty rough but there are some suburbs (like Clayton County) that don't look as bad but the crime is the same or worse because ClayCo never had a real "urban core" it looks nice but you have some hood ass apartment complexes people moved to.
I grew up in the J's. It's true, it used to be an all white neighborhood, the apartments are nicer than projects but a lot of dudes refused to come visit me or date me. In the South, it's just as many, and in some cities more, Chicago based gangs as LA. Lots of GDs and VLs the South, especially GDs. @@tinyfalcon1185 You're playing semantics bro. My point, which, still stands, is guys from the south were part of the origins of many black gangs in LA and Chicago. Tookie has whole books and documentary series (like Redemption from 2004) where he is considered as a cofounder of the crips, regardless if he came on board slightly later. Their alliance is what made Crips what it is today. Considering that Washington died in '79, Tookie was even the more recognizable "face" of the Crips. Everyone knew about the big buff dude with the fro.
There are some mistakes in the video... -Chicago BPS started in 1958 not 1961 -When T. Rodgers moved to LA from Southside Chicago it was still the Blackstone Rangers....the P didn't come until he was already in LA. -Rollin 30s Harlems are NOT apart of the NHC card -20s NHB and Fruittown Brim are BPS main allies -The 5 point Moorish Science Temple Star didn't come into effect until the mid to late 1970s when Chicago BPS and other People's Nation gangs adopted a Moorish/Islamic identity in their by laws/lit -T. Rodgers flipped his brand of Chicago BPS into Bloods after he could not get local gangs to willingly join the BPSN doctrine, after which the Bitys and Jungles lineups were made with under the BPS brand Much love to the BPS...All Well
The P. In Blackstone reportedly came in 1966 in Chicago, at least 3 or 4 years prior to T. Rodgers and his family moving to LA. The 1966 year was critical due to Jeff fort and Eugene Hairston becoming more conscious around that time.

You thought NYC was safe compared to the west? LA and majority of California’s active days are long gone and they’re living off of the 80’s and 90’s reputation. They’re cities that’s wild all throughout the land but as of right now Chicago and Philadelphia has set themselves apart, sadly. 2021 Chicago had 700 homicides and Philadelphia had 550. 2022 Chicago has 370 and Philadelphia has 316. Everyone is far behind besides lowly populated cities than rank by capita but they’re numbers are significant lower. For example LA had 300 in 2021 and they’re larger and way more populated than both Chicago & Philadelphia. Granted, it’s wild everywhere but some places are vastly more dangerous.

Yeah this nigga not native to the city though so he not getting the context. If it was 28 murders between 2001 and 2006 that means they did a good job keeping enemies out they hood from sliding on them, or were murdering outsiders like the Hispanic dude. Mostly niggas would catch niggas from Jungles when they left outside they hood. Most of the murdering be going on in South La, or the Eastside of South La, Inglewood, Watts, Compton, etc with some shit commonly happening when somebody catch somebody else outside those areas. You sound like a hater
😂😂
Bro had all kinda shit wrong in this one 🤦🏾♂️😂
Started off with saying the South as a whole thinks LA is soft because of the up keep of the property...
I counted 3 in the first 45 seconds
The world usually sees the westside of South central on movies and videos which is a nicer looking area, well kept homes and lawns. Outsiders don't usually see the east side of South central, watts, eastside of compton, pico union/ MacArthur park which are every bit of grimey as other cities. Nobody would drive thru watts and say it looks nice.
Also I'm pretty sure T Rodgers moved to the bity and not the jungles but could be wrong. And 30s aren't NH. I think we should leave the LA politics to LA people, too many people thinking they know how it goes cuz they listen to the music and watch the youtubes and read Google.
99% of what you said was correct but T Rodgers lived on palmwood drive homeboy period that's not the bitty that's the Js of balling hills Brimshaw district ✌️
All facts
Facts
And that's the deception That Gets Out of Towners killed.
They let palm trees and good weather fool them.
$215.00 is about $3,450.00 in 1930. Crazy how much our money used to be worth.
I grew up in California, it's ahead of it's time they have been upgrading the areas since the 90s.. it's also called section 8 housing.
@Nigel Mcgiver so all the blacks living in these hoods out in LA dont exist?
18 street is the most hated in LA county from the 818 to Los Angeles but BPS are the only dudes that really gave them a fight. you also have to consider that the demographics changed a lot in that area through out the years 18 street had the advantage to recruit more. BPS still stood there ground.
Yes and no. Bps is a project which means they ride for they hood. 18 st recruits people not even from 18th st if that makes sense.
Shut up leva
@@charlesbatch3132 one thing I’ve noticed is that the Westside of the 110 is all black gangs with the exception of Florencia they have a small click around the 60s area and that’s it But the Eastside is full of Mexican gangs and there’s a couple of Hispanics living on the Westside.
You mean a lot of black New Yorkers parents are from another country..
This is mostly true my grand father is from Louisiana and moved to Watts California as a kid and my grandma is from Houston but l.a. has a lot of black immigrants like belizeans, Jamaicans and Haitians. Most of the real black Americans with ties from the south are moving back now. A lot of the black immigrants are staying

-Rollin 30s Harlems are NOT apart of the NHC card
-20s NHB and Fruittown Brim are BPS main allies
-The 5 point Moorish Science Temple Star didn't come into effect until the mid to late 1970s when Chicago BPS and other People's Nation gangs adopted a Moorish/Islamic identity in their by laws/lit
-T. Rodgers flipped his brand of Chicago BPS into Bloods after he could not get local gangs to willingly join the BPSN doctrine, after which the Bitys and Jungles lineups were made with under the BPS brand
