Shapez.io is a minimalist factory building automation game inspired by Factorio! Optimization in its purest form, we must extract shapes from the source, cut them up in different ways, color them, and combine them with other shapes. Starts simple, gets increasingly complex due to the extreme shapes you must create and the infinitely expanding map.
Remember this game was made by just ONE PERSON! Go and show your support and buy this game, it's super cheap and super fun, which is an amazing combo for a game! It's on steam!

Really enjoyed this game, the whole conveyor and automation thing is real fun and addictive. Let me know if you want to see more by giving this video a like or leaving a comment! Peace, love and bridges!
I legit just watched a video that looked at this game and how it allows for learning about problem-solving and design. I am disappointed that this game doesn't allow for curve-y curves but I guess I'll survive.
Ya like factory games? play Mindustry! its free, has servers, has great mod support (bc its pretty much open source) and allows you to have vsync off so you can feel better about yourself when you see the current fps!
No, mindustry is not a factorio copy...
Super addictive and relaxing game, I bought it and played for a couple of hours after watching your video, but I have to go back to work now lol
now, you got to check factorio, shapez.io was directly inspired from it
Funny question but: are you British?
I loved the little sneak peak at 0:58 of how big and hard (to make) these builds can get
Ok that got me

Me 1 minute into the video: "Ah yes. The strongest shape."
Technically speaking if you get "hard" enough, it *is* a stronk "shape"
Yes.
Idk man the civil ingineer seems a bit sus, he may be an evil architect if he calls it the strongest shape
The thing I love about this game is that it’s simple and you don’t have to pay for conveyors/machines, just click and drag.. wonderfully addicting!
Yeah I really like that you don't have a budget or anything, different, but good!
0:57 ah yes the casual scroll of the day...
Amazing how he goes out of his way to make sure we know he's an engineer before proceeding to employ absolutely zero engineering into a game all about engineering.
Welcome to my channel! 🤣

Decided to buy this game after watching your video. For $5 is a solid little organization game that appeals to why I like games like Factorio and Satisfactory but without all the added stress and overhead of those games.
Yeah it makes a nice change not having a budget and stuff. Good value game for sure!
This one's great, i've been playing this one for a while. There was actually an update to the game recently, added a bunch of levels, and a brand new wiring system. Like others have mentioned, factorio is really similar to this one, if you're looking for some games to play yourself or games for content, that's a great one.
This is a really fun game. IMO it gets even more fun when you try to balance things where you're calculating how many operations you need for X/second output and making optimizations (both in space and rate) A lot of people are suggesting Factorio (which is a bit more complex but a lot of fun), but I suggest playing through this fully first. This game has a lot of fundamentals that will be able to transfer.
hey RCE... been loving the content recently and I must say. I am really enjoying this game (or at least the demo) and me being kind of knowledgable in electronics I can definitely see the visible similarities between PCB boards and the factories you make in this game! thank you so much for introducing this to me and I will definitely buy the full steam one!
And You not goed to the cables
(Y no llegaste a los cables)
This game looks fiendishly addictive. I'm not even playing it and I'm addicted
Great... New addiction incoming :')
Tip for new players; pressing the spacebar takes you back to the hub :)
Nice, thanks for that!
**trying hard not too overthink**
I love this, it’s like watching a mellow SovietWomble play much more relaxing games.
5:45 I believe the technical term is "semi-hemi-circle." And, if you wanted an 8th of a circle, that would be a "demi-semi-hemi-circle."
(1) Big UA-camr getting some sponsored content, hype! Looks like a neet game. Reminds me of a phone game I played called assembly line where you had to do something similar. Anyway, great vid, hope you have a great day and take care.
(I figured I might number my comments just to see how high we can go. Fun idea I came up with.)
I mean we can just see how many videos I've uploaded... haha commitment! Thanks slay dude!
One thing that I really love about your channel is your absolute dedication to including a phallus in every video. Always funny.
You should play Factorio
I'm pretty sure if you press "t" when placing a colour switch you can change the side that the colour can be inputted
yeah, but not right away, this is only enabled some levels later
u should continue playing this game! I love watching aliensrock play it and now u!!
Been playing this for a few weeks, even have my own series on it, but I'm really exited to see another one of my favourite youtubers play it
Love this game. Hope you make more videos! I’m very interested to see how your mind works building some of the more complex shapes.
You got this game a new player. Thankyou very much great video as always!
this is essentially just a more casual version of Factorio. here you're building factories for the sake of puzzle solving whereas in Factorio you're working towards a set objective while dealing with alien attacks and the looming threat of running out of resources thus needing constant expansion. its a little overwhelming to get into but if youre up for a challenge i recommend it
I really like the aesthetic of this game (as well as the gameplay). When I played it the first time, the aspects all combined to give this vibe of timelessness - the smooth gradients and crisp edges, the clockwork mechanisms. At the time I think there was only one track ("Square"; best track IMO), playing forever. The field goes on forever. It felt like a place that had always existed and would always exist; no decay, no rot, no seasons, no day or night, nothing breaks down or runs out or corrodes. You could fall asleep there for a million years and when you woke up everything would be exactly as you left it, machines still quietly moving circles from one place to another, and not a single speck of dust would have fallen in the meantime. It was incredibly meditative.
I so much love your humor and vibes!
i just bought the game after watching your vid, i have a love/hate relationship with these kinds of games. i love them because i love optimizing games like this. and i hate them because i cant stop playing
make a highway, it helps a lot (4 lanes on each side of the hub)
then connect it with mergers?
0:59 the strongest conveyor belt
I'm 1:40 in.
As someone who has just managed to put satisfactory aside as I was procrastinating from work too much, I really didn't need to find this video
I prefer Factory Idle. If you haven't seen it, it's similar to this, but instead of the difficulty coming from where the resources are, it instead is from the fact that you are actually putting rectangular machines inside of non-rectangular buildings.
Oh my god I bought this game yesterday only to be casual and I'm already 12 hours in and taking pride of my 8-threaded stacking machine and others
My god, have you played Dyson Sphere Program.... you would love it.
I played this game as it's web form, and yes it is free online but it's kind of like a demo but I remember just how good it felt when I made something work. But the best part weirdly enough was making everything better, I can't explain why this was so nice but I loved going trough my older macians and just making them better and smaller. Also it's really weird how as something gets smaller it became much more relaxing and fun to just sit back and watch it. I know it gets quite complex but each part of the game is explained so well and is extremely clear how to get there, it's mainly just finding a way that worked best.
I think it's really interesting how RCE's voice changed in these 3 years since release of this video
he definitely sounds more confident now than he did back then.
If you play this game again the idea of going further out into the world is going to be a good thing to get use to like pre plan 4 lane highway and have your production connect to the highway with balancers until you get further it’s smart to pre plan ahead
Very addictive indeed, I could've kept on watching for hours 😂
Maybe I'll do another vid! ...or a stream?
I could honestly probably watch like a full year long video of this and still be fascinated the whole time
I wonder if there's a limit to video length on yt....
Real Civil Engineer well there are plenty of 10 hour videos and I’ve seen much longer but I’m not sure about a year, but there’s only one way to find out wink wink
Keep an eye on my channel in a year's time 😂
This is one of my favorite games too watch
0:59 the brandmark has returned!
I appreciate the strongest shape at the beginning that was unmentioned
You should TOTALLY play Mindustry, especially when v2.0 launches.
0:12 My mind is absolutely blown! I know this guy. We visited the same elementary school and have the same first name. What a coincidence!
In my head it'll always be pronounced "shay-PEHZ-eeoh"
I'm new to thé channel and just watched thé video and i love thé game and it's addictive to watch it love al your vids keep doing this work loves man
I can't help but smirk a bit about that compact balancer example in the end, considering it takes up the exact same amount of space. I know the compact one comes in handy when it's a perpendicular input, but it makes no difference in space used when the inputs are parallel, seeing as you still need to place a curve next to it :)
This is insanely addicting... Super simple concept... Just pure blizz trying to nitpick for more and more effecieny...
This is the perfect game for starting out with factory games. Now you're ready for games like Factorio and Satisfactory where you have to manage power, resource input, and more complex ratios and production lines.
its based on Factorio and its way more complicated and fun that the game that you are playing good video anyways !
Not every factory game is based on Factorio
I found this from a video that wasn't like this, recommended WHILE I was playing the exact same game!!!!!!!!!!
Manufacturing engineer in me died when you split a stock item in half and threw the half in the trash can. Surprised you can't actually turn them since it's identical.
You can rotate them. I'ts just something you get a liiitle bit later.
But byproducts MUST be dealt with, one way or another, either shipped to the core or thrown in the trash, or shipped off somewhere else entirely for reprocessing. Otherwise, production will halt.
just started the game
me too! only the demo version in the browser tho... thinking of buying it

progames 246 yep agreed
love this game. wow it's been 3 yrs already. i guess he didn't notice the variant on the painter haha. this is the most messy design I've seen wow.
FYI, painter has two variants that reverse the side the ink input is on, makes it much better than having to go around like 10:40
Matt, I think you should play Riftbreaker. Automation is truly addicting.
If you'd like to play this again I'd definitely watch it!
man, I could just watch you play that forever
Maybe I'll stream it soon?
incredibly chill and comfortable to listen to.
It's like "SATISFACTORY",
but in 2D,
not on UNREAL Engine,
with minimalist graphics (no need to have NASA PC to run it in UHD),
no strange animals and plants,
and no shadows...
Nice!
And I love SATISFACTORY ! ;)
This is p much mindustry without PvE, and a really clean and simple interface. Nice
You should try compacting machines when you get things and improved items
Satisfactory is a game like this, but with a survival aspect added. You might want to have a look at it
Shapez is just so addicting.
Little Tipps. Hold shift to drag conveyors faster and build more of one building at once.
Try the game big pharma. Its the same kind of making conveyors with modifiers, while trying to be as efficient as possible, but keeping cost and space use low while making profit. Theres a lot of management of efficiency and diminishing returns and the like.
Great video! Seems like a cool game, I would enjoy more!
Every engineer or even students who want to be an engineer will be an addict to this game
Probably going to check this game out because of your sponsorship actually
0:58 LOL
I also love this game. I start from free version on vebsite shapez.io and buy later. Now i stil waiting for next update (adding new staf). The best upgrade is lev12 Blueprint.
TRY MINEDUSTRY!!!! it's kinda like this but with more color and a little bit more hard
Thanks, I'll take a look for sure!
i watched half of this.... thought "oh this looks cool" then went and played 7hrs of the damn game before coming back to watch the end of the vid
Been playing this for a bit myself, and not sure what you usually think of info and tips in the comments, but I just have to say two quick things, mostly because you seemed to miss their existence entirely.
1. You have TWO variants to the painter, one inputs color from the left, the other from the right.
2. Hold shift while placing conveyors (while doing this, you can press r to switch to the other sides). Holding shift while placing anything else, and it lets you keep placing more without needing to re-select it, This was, more or less revealed in the keybindings popup that you closed quickly.
Yeah I unlocked the painter variant near the end, you only unlock one of the input sides at first! Thanks for the second tip though!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming you definitely had the variant at 11:35, when you were first setting up the red circles. it just doesn't tell you about variants right away, if I remember correctly.
You're quite right, maybe that's what happened as I do remember it telling me there was a variant shortly before I used it? Or maybe I just missed it! Good spot anyway, and thanks!
There’s a list of actions you can do at the top left corner, and it’s quite helpful.
This game is awesome. The upcoming sequel will be one of the GOATs!
Shapez io is a great game, saw KatherineOfSky play it and picked it up. I think Factorio might be a good game for you to try if you like this game.
Amazing that this is one of His first videos
i didnt realize how much i needed a series of this game until now
Spoilers below!
As you've likely discerned from the comments, you're not the only one who's been sponsored by this dev into playing the game. I've seen people saying they got into it after Aliensrock got into it, myself included, but there's also DF,...
...I can't list any more off the top of my head. ^^; anyway pro tip: look into stacking 4/4 white-dyed circles onto 3/4 circles with a square in the top-right, dyed blue. Do this early enough and you'll be able to skip an entire level, giving you access to ctrl-c and ctrl-v, AND ctrl-x! Very helpful.
More tips if I have any,
Keep up the content,
IMA. Person
Thanks, great tip!
Please, please do more commentary over this game. It was so satisfying
Yes definitely play more of this game
You just sold me the game. I mean literally, I just bought it. The first sponsored video that really worked for me
Enjoy, it's a lot of game for the money!
Nice video i really like it.
It wasnt even a minute in 😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂 and I saw the ultimate shape
Try Satisfactory. Amazing game, similar but in 3d. Factory building on dedicated planet. Everything is built for automation.
PLEASE try shapez 2 when it gets out
I just got this in my recommended, idk, but you seem to have changed, not good or bad ;D
Maybe I should watch one of my older vids and see for myself...
You really needn't worry about space or efficiency in this game. The only real limiting factor is the number of inputs on the hub. There are always more of X somewhere, and even if things seems far away, functionally they aren't.
You GOTTA play factorio
As someone with the same name as the creator of this game, I really appreciate your pronunciation of it
I love that you can hear RCE try not to laugh here 1:00
I wish they have all computer games in play store for Android
Cheers for this, thought I'd give it a go then bam 8hrs later kids are getting out of bed and I'm trying to figure out where the night went 🤣 very addictive game, love it!!
Haha yeah it'll do that

Shapez 2 looks amazing!
On the one hand, this looks like so much fun. On the other hand your setup was so messy from the get-go it was uncomfortable.
Ha you should see what my six year old son is doing 🤣
When he said the game is addicting, he was not lying... I've been playing this for weeks now
I could watch you play this forever.
