Satisfyingly I'm back on Coke Studio Pakistan after a while and it was a stunning experience once again. Especially the fact that we watch a project from Season 1 with the legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan made me celebrate even before watching this video. You wrote me that the band Junoon teamed up with the pupil of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and I had a lot of recommendations to go for this song. While the band kept it simple, aside from a guitar solo, the vocalists were absolutely shining on this performance and made me forget about the world for a short time. I'm proud to archive this piece of art on my channel next to all those other Coke Studio songs.

Ali Azmat is the first rockstar of Pakistan. Though not first rock band but atleast his band "Junoon" is the one who bought hard rock in mainstream pop music of Pakistan. They introduced a new kind of Rock, "Sufi Rock". Ali Azmat is a gem. A south asian music legend
"Garaj Baras" simply means thunder n raining. Rainy season "saawan" is truly celebrated in hot countries like Pakistan n India n people sing songs n write poetry on rain. If you listen you would feel these raining lightening thunder effect in song. In this song the poet is asking his beloved to come n enjoy this rainy weather n thunderstorm
What Rahat Fateh ali khan singing is called Rag, its most difficult to do, he is a powerhouse, TO SING RAG shakes your nerves, and senses.

This song is highly underrated. This is not Ali Azmat best performance. You should listen to his more songs. He is a real powerhouse of singing.

Junoom comprised of 3 members, Ali Azmat (vocals), salman ahmed (producer n musician of band), brian O conelle (an american who settled in Pakistan). In 2000s this band was broken as salman n brian settled in USA so Ali Azmat went solo. Garaj baras is a solo act
Coke Studio season 1 came out in 2008.. so this must be recorded in 2009..

Still now this is one of the best collaboration of Classical and Modern Music...in my opinion.
Ali Azmat band's "Junoon" was like number 2 or number 1 in Pakistan. Always always. Atif aslam was like his fan. In 90s 3 bands ruled Pakistani music. Vital Signs (mostly soft pop), Junoon (hard rock), n Awaz (soft pop also)
I recommend you 2 songs from coke studio... " naina more " and " kangana", you wil enjoy listening to them and you'll regret not listenibg to them before, they are so good that i wish you listen to them right now and im going to di the same😍
Listened to it....oh God, what a song..what a song, no words to describe its beauty, only complain i have the guy with the cap doesn't let the other guy sing, he wants to capture the mike whole time abd i dont like this gesture of him, otherwise its mind blowing, but most underated songs, kangna and naina more

There is another coke studio song of rahat and junoon name "sayooni coke studio season 10" where 2 bands (including junoon) and rahat are together, and they rocked there...... in that song junoon bands other singer salman performed not ali azmat, must react on it, nothing more rocky came out than sayooni
Plz dont recommend that. Sayooni from coke studio was disappointing but sayooni original was fabulous. If he has to react, recommend the original sayooni by Junoon, which raised their fame bar on many levels

Second this, do it kojac, there is another one to surprise you, surah wadduha by qari abdul basit from egypt ( if i remember his name correctly ) and also surah wadduha by a qari from sudan ( i cant recall his name riggt now ) he recited the whole surah in one breath and i was falling short of breath watching that.

You should listen to junoon’s collection of songs on their youtube or itunes. Junoon is the biggest rock band of south asia and pioneers. Also the first band to perfom in UN general assembly. Amazing music you should check it out.
