      Been good bro even though we are still in lockdown here in Melbourne. Officially holding the record of longest lockdown city. So mostly doing repairs upgrades and overdue maintenance on cars these days. Also ended up winning an auction on a another original Bruiser on eBay last week. Comes with all original electronics as well. Still waiting to be delivered. Hopefully by end of this week. Going to be my third original Bruiser.
      Your videos have been absolutely helpful restoring them and I’m so glad I found your channel years ago. Thanks for everything and take care brotha

      Wow its been a long time since I heard that company mentioned! lol, I broke mine back in the late 80's and the hobby shop wouldn't order me one because it was 200.00 back then. he said to just buy a new kit, I eventually bought steel pinions and made the gears I needed.

    Is there a way to lock the transmission to low speed 4wd only and completely remove the shifter/servo?

    • @dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol
      @dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol  Рік тому

      thanks and yes there is a locking option in the spare parts bad they have 2 white spacer clips to lock it in 1st or 2nd or 3rd and totally eliminate the shifting servo,

  • @steveharrigan3425
    @steveharrigan3425 Місяць тому

    I would replace those parts than doing that as if it wears out bad and I won't use it again and it will get worst later also the coupling wire was wrapped around front the electric motor so that won't help much at all just leave it plain wire alone and nothing in there at all so all electric motors don't have those wires like that at all

    Dennis hope your doing fine. On the HG P407 what size motor and how many turns on motor does the factorymotor come with. I was thinking of swapping in a 540 45T brushed motor. Opinion. Thanks.

    • @dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol
      @dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol  Рік тому

      the 407 has a 540 27 turn motor, I have used higher turn motors for more low end power on mine you sacrifice higher top end speeds but your not overheating the stock motor any longer.

    . I've just gotten my buriser new version and having a he'll of a time with the gearbox. Build and differential. The manual isn't the clearst. Any chance you could do a step by step full build on both. Please

      not a problem torn it down several times did notice the shift assembly guide was backwards and put that right but still sticking even manually i also seen you filed a taper on the shift collars on an vid to ease sliding over the dog gears what about the leading edge on these its quite sharp rounding over would that help ?
      also i may have an issue with the radio i use 4ch futaba t4grs ch3 ch4 are toggle switchs not much fine tuning for trim and end point worth thinking about a different
      set ?

      also greasing , kit white or black molly ?
      i actually considered making gaskets and filling with real automatic transmission fluid as from my car days it does resemble a real auto 3 speed auto box and these like to swim in the red stuff :P

    My issue is no thirds gear. 3rd is the lever all the way in. Just the action of the motor moving gears forces the gear out and no forward ,The lenght of the strokw for 3rd gear is less than 4 mm. just move the lever 3mm and the gear is lost. If you press the gear shifter in and hold it there. (like maybe servo no saver!) you get 3rd gear but must hold it 3rd gear can't be this thin?

    • @dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol
      @dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol  2 роки тому

      the stock servo savers are really loose I would check the slop to see if its not extending into 3rd gear, I installed a aluminum servo arm on mine, also you can remove the front transmission housing and check if the front plastic gear is wore down, they make a steel version now.

    Hello, so I bought an RTR version, out of the box. It had numerous problems such as defective electronics, which I upgraded immediately. One problem I have not solved yet is what should be 2 Wheel Dr. low is neutral, complete free spin. I have even moved the shift linkage slowly by hand in and out it cannot catch a gear. So before I tear down the transmission, does anybody have a suggestion for what I am looking for? Thank you.

      Hi I have had many messages on this problem and have been trying to find a solution but I dont have a defective transmission to tear down to see what is defective, on the shifting shaft there are 2 tiny balls that lock the shifting forks to it, I wonder if they are missing?

    • @shannonnufer
      @shannonnufer 11 місяців тому

      Thank you DD, so I tore the whole tranny down checked everything over with the instruction, manual and your resources, found nothing wrong. Nothing was missing nothing was damaged. Greased it up real well still no resolve. So I decided to do your full-time four-wheel-drive mod which it worked, but I still have neutral in the center position. I’m giving up on this transmission for now, my local HobbyTown has a kit for sale and I’m going to buy it and use it as basically a parts kit and see if I have any luck with the transmission out of that one this way, I have a full set of parts, including a brand new body if I ever need it. Thank you for your instruction.

    Awesome tutorial! I do have a question. It’s not related to the tranny of the HG. I was unscrewing the screws on the wheel and for so reason 1 out of the 3 hex screws has stripped and I can’t get the last hex screw out. So how do I unscrew a very small hex screw when the hex head is kinda rounded and now I can’t loosen the screw? Thanks in advance.

      I have had this happen many times lately, try to file the end of the wrench to a flat bottom and angle the wrench into the screw push down hard and twist it loose, If that doesn't work try a standard size allen wrench to see if it fits tighter. the last resort is to drill it out.
