slightly better design but does make much sense use LRMs and SRM in the same VTOLs. It would work better to a full LRM version and a full SRM version working in pairs
@@battletechfanatic2354 I would consider Warrior VTOLs more of a skirmishing unit. Having both LRM and SRM launchers gives them more tactical flexibilty picking their targets and movement options. If I am looking for a pure damage VTOL I like to use the Cavalry VTOL. The problem is that it must get really close to deliver it´s missiles and that is not always possible.
@@hermes7587 you get tactical flexibility by mixing LRM and SRM units, but having both weapons in the same VTOL is a waste as you cannot use both efficiently. As the faster unit defines the firing range a VTOL can always choose the firing distance
Everything you love about the Warrior, the Hawk Moth can do better. A tad bit slower, but the damage output at the range delivered will change your life. If your heart is set on the Warrior AC2, try using Armor Piercing or Precision ammunition. Going from 45 shots to 22 still leaves you with plenty of ammo, and the benefits will blow you away. Well, blow the enemy away...
Most of canon VTOL designs are pretty weak (including the Warrior) because the original VTOL rules in Battletech made them almost useless - rotor damage was not divided by 10, they had a +3 modifier to fire while moving and not defense bonus of +1 after moving. The Warrior was supposed to find a position and fire stationary - placing much armor was a waste because it took one rotor hit to destroy it. At best it was useful against Light Mechs that miss long range weapons to fire back. Under the currently rules, the Warrior is under armored and it makes more sense to have it loaded with LRMs for long range fire support (or SRMs for short range fire support)
Okay Fritz, what is a good counter to a warrior? Getting your own warriors sounds potentially self destructive, maybe a AC 2 carrier to sit in the back with 5AC's giving support fire and the turret to blast away at any brave vtol pilot getting close?
There is a Warrior variant that replaces the AC/2 with an LRM-10. A pair of these can really do some damage.

Great to see you back up!

An lb-x 10 is the perfect vtol killer
It only takes 2 points to kill a rotor and it falls out of the sky
@@donneale7555 and smoke rounds are the best counter for LB-X and flak ammo.
@@battletechfanatic2354 and?
The question was , what is the best warrior counter?.....not, what is the best counter fire option?
