TRUTH. not gonna name names, but there are so many new asmrtists on this platform, sure they have all the expensive equipment and they can whisper and go through the motions of the trigger - but they still won't give me tingles/asmr. just not authentic enough, seems forced. I guess if all it takes to trigger your asmr is some simple tapping, then cool those asmrtists are probably great for you. but I need that realistic personal attention! (: and that's what people who "are asmr" are wonderful for!

Would you ever consider doing some sort of dinner party hostess/etiquette lesson rp? Taking us through the menu, napkin folding, table setting and decorating, selecting the wine etc. That's what this video made me think of. Thanks for all you do ❤

That would be a great idea for a learning video. I have learned so many different technique by watching you do things such as ironing and folding. My boyfriend loves the way I fold his clothes now, so thank you MARIA. An entire video on etiquette table setting folding napkins you could do a whole series of just proper etiquette . how to dress for a male into female how to properly sit how to properly greet somebody. How to properly excuse yourself during a dinner party. Take us to a dinner party Maria and teach us the way please.

I had severe depression with insomnia for months when I was 21. I came across Maria’s page and it helped so much with falling asleep I’m 27 now and up till this day I still watch and it helps me so much when I need to sleep or have anxiety.

My rescue dog loved Maria. I adopted him and his sister and used Maria to help calm them down. The sister could take it or leave it but my boy loved you Maria. He was discarded by his old family and had huge anxiety. He bonded to me and I introduced him to asmr. He would jump on the sofa, I would say 'shall we listen to gentle whispering?' and as soon as you started with your 'hello' or 'good evening' he would look up at you and then settle down. He could fall asleep in

I'm so sorry for your loss, he sounds like a special baby. 💙 My rescue kitten (abandoned mid August in a blazing hospital parking lot!) has been soothed by Maria from night one! We watched her fold the same towels for months, lol. Even as a healthy & recovered year old kitty, he always pays attention (then relaxes...) at the first sound of her voice.

Oh Snow, I also dealt with post partum, but did not recognize it until I was several months in! Nobody looked at me and said, "you have changed".
If I could go back and do it again, I would have gone to speak with a therapist. I did not find therapy until many years after it was for something unrelated, but I recall thinking...sure wish I would have made some time for me when my baby/babies were little, by seeing someone who couldve helped me through it!

This is INSANE. When I was growing up one of the staple meals my mother cooked was orzo with spinach and grape tomatoes in a garlic and lemon sauce but she always served it with seared pork chops instead of shrimp. So similar 🤣 this video made me feel nostalgic and I could actually smell what was being made in my memory 💖

One is very round and looks like a regular tomato but very small (a cherry tomato) and the more oval or long small ones are grape tomatoes (I guess they resemble grapes?) In my opinion the cherry tomatoes taste sweeter than the tangy grape ones

BlueApron sounds like a great solution for students and mothers etc BUT the amount of boxes, labels, stickers that are used is concerning for the environment. It also is a hassle to get rid of all of them.
I think maybe getting rid of all the stickered labels (written tomatoes on tomatoes) will be efficient- everyone knows a tomato is a tomato. Or maybe cut down on the size of the sticker or write it ?
Also sizing down on the amount of plastic is another option- it is not going to take away from the experience for the customers.
I think there are other ways to make the customer feel like they are cared for and are ordering from a premium company than using pretty stickers or a lot of thick plastic.
Maria if you ever see this, you can make more impact than me :(
Joanne Lee I use Dinnerly. I just throw the entire box and all the plastics in my recycling can for our local trash people to pick up weekly. It’s really not that difficult.
Aria.Equitation you’d be surprised how many times one thing can be recycled though, we as a planet recycle a lot more than we used to.
That doesn’t mean I think this much recyclable plastic is necessary but usually they’re biodegradable too so if it is thrown out or put in landfills, we can be reassured it will eventually become part of nature again

Martina Dipa well if you were to buy everything at the grocery store it would have all been packaged the same way. You can’t really have loose shrimp, tomatoes, roasted peppers and spinach in a box. Things would get bruised and ruined.
Yes. Most of grocery store packaging is also way too much. Where I live, you can buy scoopfuls of cherry tomatoes and put them in your own reusable vegetable bag made out of fabric. These tomatoes were in a plastic box _inside a plastic bag_ D:

Maria, your such an outstanding asmr artist. some viewer feedback for this topic. when you do a cooking video, i think you should try to find ways to use less video cuts. even if you might be worried about someone judging your cooking skills, i think the entire process is important for asmr. the little fumbles, slight movements and gestures, the body language that fills "negative space" between actions, help to incite the viewers total attention. its like how in a doctors roleplay, the doctor turning away briefly to get something, write something, ect. can be just as if not more imortant than the doctor actualy checking you.
for cooking, we need to see each step in it entirety. we arent really watching this to learn cooking remember. since your only working with the ingredients from blue apron, maybe go to the store and buy an extra set of ingredients so you have at least two attempts at a "full cut" for each ingredient prep.
also adding an herbal water infusion or fruit infusion for a drink with dinner, water sounds are just another layer and more extended process.
also experiment with setting your microphones at different distances during harsher louder parts of cooking, crackling pan sounds and scraping sounds may be harsh up close, but great at a distance.

Ryan FitzAlan it’s really not that deep. On the contrary, a lot of people put their devices face down and don’t watch a single second of the video, they only want the audio.
She includes plenty of “slight movements and gestures”, her videos are literally all about those with plenty of other commenters raving over her fluid hand movements, etc, and two “fumbles” I can pull up off the top of my head are the runaway cherry tomato and the napkin folding incident. I agree with you on one point-no one is here to actually learn how to cook this, so why include the things you’re talking about? It doesn’t matter. She creates nearly (and sometimes over) hour-long videos that go smoothly and don’t jar the viewers/listeners so there’s really nothing to improve upon here for what she’s trying and successfully achieving.
@@Emdooeyhmm i never considered that others might only listen to asmr, just never occurred to me. as for your comments, I was speaking only in reference to this particular video and its topic. the sum point i was trying to get at is that the entire process being shown is what brings the viewers mind into real life, like they are actually there. i think thats an important part of how the ASM response is triggered. Im just giving an opinion as well, for me, roleplays are the only type of video which stimulates the response. for others they may just need fun sounds in front of a microphone, but that doesn't work for me. so my bias makes me more critical of roleplay/real life videos.
I was not attempting to dog on Maria, i apologize if it seemed that way. she is one of my favorite artists who consistently produces quality content worth viewing. My goal was to provide critical review for the purpose of aiding her in understanding what viewers think and want. thats part of the point of comments sections - "tell us what you think or want"
