- Performed as part of the Free Spirit Celebrating the Music of Free from Royal Albert Hall in the UK, Fire and Water reached No. 2 on the U.K. album chart, being listed on it for a total of eighteen weeks. In contrast, neither of the band's prior two studio albums had charted at all. Fire and Water additionally reached No. 17 on the U.S. chart.
Fire and Water is the third studio album by the English rock group Free. It became the band's breakthrough, achieving widespread commercial success after the band's first two studio albums had faced a more muted response. With the "tremendous" acclaim of Fire and Water at their backs, in the words of AllMusic, Free headlined the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival and "appeared destined for superstardom".
The album spawned the popular single "All Right Now", praised by publications such as AllMusic as a hard rock "smash powered by [Paul] Rodgers' gritty, visceral vocals". The song became a Top five rock hit in not just the group's native United Kingdom, but it additionally did well in multiple European countries such as Austria, France, and Germany.

Incredible vocals Paul is amazing as ever!
One of the very best voices, saw Free at the Victoria Hall Hanley in 1971 and then saw Paul perform with Queen at Wembley Arena. SUBLIME!!!!
Yes l know. He has the same voice. Amazing.
Spectactular vocal from Paul - and the backing band aquits themselves nicely. But let's give it up for the songwriting prowess of Andy Fraser. His work from the 70's still holds up so well today!
Paul and Andy wrote this together, no?
@@LawrenceD Indeed. I believe they co-wrote most of that album. I just like to show some love to bass players whenever I can :-) Also just learned he wrote "Every Kinda People" that was a hit for Robert Palmer.
@@mrmarshmadness1 Andy is so deserving of credit. One of my favorites and they were so young too.
@Lawrence D So true!
RIP Andy Fraser a tremendous talent

Anybody plays with paul rodgers is dam good.
Few things, first, this is the Debra Bonham band, Paul first played with them at a benefit for a horse rescue that Paul and his lovely wife arepatrons, and they just absolutely clicked on the Free songs. The guitarist is married to Debra Bonham. Next, Simon Kirke is the most underrated drummer ever, he actually played on Whole Lotta Love with Zeppelin live, invited by Bonzo. Free were actually on the Swan Song label as well. I believe it was Paul that convinced Percy Plant to take a percentage instead of 50 quid per, not a hundred percent on that, my memory fades a bit. Clapton once asked Koss to teach him his vibrato. Free are one of the most talented bands ever, all memebers were individually incredibly gifted, right up there with the best.
Yeah yes
I always wanted to be Paul Rodgers, my favorite vocalist of all time

Some bands you love to see live in some bands are better off not seeing live but when you see bad company at Red rocks you know you've seen the show
Who are the other band members? Sounds great!
Deborah Bonham ( Yes, sister of John Bonham) Band. Pete Bullick guitar, Ian Rowley on bass, Rich Newman on drums and Gerard Louis “G” on keyboards.

When was this performace?
Baby I want to leave you now but I'm gonna make you grieve somehow
Has that Guitarist actually ever _listened_ to Paul Kossoff?
Baby I want to leave you now
If there's number that shows off Paul's voice to perfection, it's this one. Note how he let's more soul flow into it these days. Pity about the solo - even good people have a hard time emulating Kossoff's work, simple as it sounded. Guy here is using a Les Paul and fat amp, but still can't quite get the sustain.

SMOKIN'...wet
Lover you turn me on but quick as a flash your love is gone
Can still belt it out 👍
Wish the guitar guy played the Koss stuff
Those aren't chicken feathers..
Better guitar player would help
More than good enough. Perfect complement to the music. Tone is on point, feel is good, and he hits all the licks. Better comment/suggestion is what would help.
Baby I want to leave you now
