He has something special. All day this song was in my mind. Listened to it a few times and even the Mott the Hoople version, but Paul Rogers is on it! Saw him with the Firm in 1985/6 in Daytona:)
Thank you, Simon, Boz, Mick and Paul. You have endured. Strange as it may seem, at 70 years old, this is one of fhe things I love to listen to before I go to sleep

Nope never underrated. Bad Company is the one and only band to ever record on Swan Song label. Owners of Swan Song label - Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant once said Paul Rodgers is the most soulful singer Ive ever heard.
I don't really see them as being the best of the best - but damn good. Kind of went way too commercial for me. I do not like this version, I like Mott's original version. This is a song written and sung by Mick Ralphs, who puts the proper passion into it. There are about 5 songs by BC that I just love--- but that sadly is it. Rogers with Free was at his best and Ralphs I think was at his best with Mott, although I like anything Mick Ralphs does.
Right. They were never underrated. They were huge in the 1970's and into the 1980's. Bad Company was as popular and successful as any of the big names of that time.
I am so grateful I got to grow up listening to this band. Saw them a few times, too. Paul Rodgers never disappoints. Thank you from a 62 yr old rocker chic!
@@AspergerL I just know Paul Rogers does not need Freddie Mercury to validate him! Yes, he's the man.Queen was very lucky to have him front the band for a while.
Damn...what a performance...this was my Senior Year in High School...amazing. Look at that stack of Ampeg Amps the late great Boz Burrell had, 500 watts up there Mick Ralphs had at least the same amount when Ampeg made the guitar version. Not to mention his overdrive and that beautiful Les Paul....great powerful live setup on this!
Paul always gives his all, even back then when they were so young, he lost himself completely in this song.....this video and this song and performance is my all time favourite ......i quess as an artist you want to always get better and better but for me, this was already amazing stuff and hard to top
Saw Paul Roger's performance in 2018 in West Palm Beach. I couldn't believe how good his vocals were. Most lead singers from his era can longer belt out the tunes the way they used to. That's completely normal. This guy is truly phenomenal!
OMG! I remember staying up until 1am Saturday mornings to watch Don Kirshner's Rock Concert! I was about 14 or 15 and the music back then puts the stuff today to shame. The 70's were silk shirts, Levi's, Earth shoes, surfing, skating and skateboarding. The guys had long hair and the girls even longer. Just a suntan and a smile, no makeup, no green or purple hair, no all over body tattoos, no giant plugs in our lips or ears. You could go see a doubleheader concert with big name bands for $8.50. I sure do miss those days.
My mom used to absolutely jam some Bad Company, back in the mid 90s, when I was about 5 or 6, while we cruised around in a brand new 1994 Vibrant Red, 5 speed 5.0 Mustang GT, which had the premium Boss Sound system in it. NOW THAT WAS A FEELING! I'll never forget it.
Ive just listened to Paul Rodgers singing in 2013 live and now listening to this. His voice has not changed at all. What an amazing singer. He should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I'm listening to Paul Rogers and thinking, "Not his best performance." Which is true - and then it hits me that most singers would kill to sound this good even once. That's how good he is.
I took the Bad Company album to a party soon after it was released in 1974. It stayed on the turntable most of the evening and I've never had so much success with girls, coming up to me with "I hear you brought this music".
The definition of a Supergroup. Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke (surviving members of Free), Mick Ralphs (Mott The Hoople), and Boz Burrell (King Crimson). Serious musicianship all around.
Love this song, forgot how much I love it, haven't listened to it in years. Bought their album when I was 13 I think. Will be 60 next month. :) Wish I would've been able to see them in concert.

What a great band. Just pure talent. No bullshiit distractions, dancers on stage. Back when bands could actually play and sing live
I'd say Paul Rodgers pants and crop top are a pretty big distraction.
Not many guys could wear that outfit and still be smoking’ hot, 100% masculine!
