      I sadly already parted ways with the thought of visiting N Korea or China ever in my life.
      N Korea - You can literally be called out for anything and your next 15 years of your life will be forced labor every single day until you either die or get some bad disease.
      China - People naturally hate you and want to scam you no matter the nationality.
      It's fucking disgusting.

    ok first off, for anyone watching. If you are in a foreign country like china,
    and you get intimidated to render your passport and someone says you cant leave the country because they have your passport.
    immediately go to your Embassy and inform them to what happen.
    the Embassy has many ties with many high up people in that country and they know a few people here and there , because thats what they do.
    thats why its an embassy.
    There was a woman american living in Japan, and similar thing has happened to her. the embassy called in a few people,
    and they had a stern talk with the people the woman pointed out. those people never bothered her again.
    The Embassy have special people that deal with this kind of stuff in foreign countries.
    Also when ever you go to ANY foreign country, ALWAYS know where your embassy is, always...

    I would suggest foreigners make at least 1 to 2 local Chinese friends if they choose to live in China, so they can ask them for advice when faced with threats and extortion. Do not be scared, some people simply test the limits of others' fear, so never yield to unreasonable requests. When you are in China, develop your circle of friends espeically locally with Chinese natives, so you have people at your back. It is not just for foreigners, Chinese people also have to do the same when they move to another city or province. You need help, do not fight alone.

    I have family in the PLA and when I am in China, I swear I feel like I'm untouchable. We ride around in vehicles with that red Heineken star and people generally don't even look your way twice.
    Once I was eating in one of the smaller villages outside Jun An province and a pair of musicians asked for some food. These were 20 year olds with guitars. Like the foreigner that I am, I kindly scooped up some rice , meat and veggies for them to eat. They ate quick then started to say that they were sick. Feigning pains from poisoned food, the same food I was eating. I actually got scared for a moment until I realized that they were shitting me.
    Long story short. They called the police, I called my cousin. My cousin came with a few PLA buddies, guns in hand, smacked the police officer and proceeded to beat the kids to a bloody pulp.

      Well, he should have talked to his country consulate first. Passports are actually government property, so he should have reported the theft to them and then they could deal with the local police to get it back without dealing with the girl. The consulate could then decide to issue a new one or try to get it back by the girl. So, a lost passport is not the end of the world and he just dealt with this wrong. But my USA passport actually state on one of the pages that the government owns the passport and must be return by demand. In fact, one of your responsibilities of a USA passport holder is to report immediately if your passport is lost or stolen and you report that when oversea to the USA consulate. I imagine most countries have similar laws.

    Just wanted to say something about passports EVERYONE should be well aware of BEFORE going ANYWHERE overseas...
    A passport is NOT YOURS, its is actually your governments documents who allow ONLY YOU (only exceptions are, getting it stamped where it is only briefly out of your possession, or a government official of YOUR country) to carry so you can prove who you are and where you are from (from what I have researched, maybe I am wrong or mislead in such regard, but regardless, you should still treat it the very same). This is not just an issue in China, other places also will try similar tactics (eg renting a bike, they might "require" you to deposit your passport) such as Thailand, Philippines, India, and I dare suspect every foreign country on the map. They can keep a PHOTOCOPY only of the passport, NOT the original only you are entitled to carry. Please learn this WELL before going anywhere overseas.

    • @sverre371
      @sverre371 7 років тому +32

      I worked at the passport office of my country and what you said is true and we told everyone who was traveling, even just to the US to put their passport in the hotel safe in their room and keep a photo copy on them when they leave the room. Problem is in some countries, the local police and government officials or all in on it and they demand you turn over your passport. Unless you are able to run or drive to your country's embassy you are SOL and JWF. They throw you in a cell and if they want, you will never been seen again.

      If the door had deadbolts or other locking systems seperate from the door handle that werent engaged at the time this crazy woman broke his door open, then yes, he could still lock the door after it had been broken.

    If you haven't dated a Chinese lady, you don't understand how "clingy" they can be, and what lengths they will go to preserve a relationship, especially with a decent looking foreigner. You can be explicit about not wanting a girlfriend, by saying your just dating for short-term fun, and the girl may even seem to understand and actually agree with you, but then, soon after, hint about getting married or moving in together. Not criticizing Chinese women, they have a lot of desirable qualities, but you have to understand that they play by different rules.

    Ok but from my experience (more than 8 years in China) he shouldnt agree to pay the first 10 K. After he did it means he was guilty. Nothing gonna happned if he just refuse to pay. Maybe he need to change place of living because she could make some personal mess.
    Second He should let her "rob" his passport. By the way he can ask for compensation and it can be prove of her illegal action. Whats more, If his passport was stolen he should inform local PSB and applay in embassy for new one (its no problem).
    It happned to me that my passport was damaged, I just applay for new one in my embassy in Beijing.
    P.S. Sorry for my English, I hope You all guys can understand my comment.

      Not true, watch the other first video. He was about to get in real legal trouble if he didn"t give the money. Police doesn't want to bother about couple issues in China but when an accusation for violence is filled in China, and that accusation goes in court, you can be sure that he would have had to pay and maybe even go to prison. There's a 99% criminal conviction rate in China.

    • @RaportzAkcji
      @RaportzAkcji 8 років тому +13

      1. If the issue goes to court she is more guilty than he.
      2. Pay for hospital in China is quite cheap. Normal treatment after motobike accident costs no more than 1000 rmb (if no any deanger things happened). In this case the family just found milk cow.

      Totally agree with the hospitals bills, but I'm pretty sure justice would sided with the girl, cause she's chinese. Imagine the headlines "chinese women losing case after her foreign bf beats her up". lol, that would never ever pass.

      Next thing is that for judge we should to know the version of Chinese girl. Its not means that I dont believe him but is the rule.
      I dont think so that if he doesnt pay it could end up in prison. Probably nothing, maybe need to change city or the worst leave China with bad record (5 years no able to get Chinese visa).
      Chinese government will not put him to jail because they dont need the scandal of "human rights", "not guilty prisoners" etc. There is embassy and western journalists behind him. Journalist just wait this kind of news.

    I don't think this one is so much of a "scam" case. As someone who was born and raised in China, it's obvious to me that this girl is not some kind of nobody who just wants money. The series of trouble she pulled was not something that a normal nobody cal pull. She must have a background of power or fortune to some extent. It seems to me that she was really hurt and just wants the guy to suffer. She started from taking as much money away as possible, and then eventually ended up taking away his entire life in China. Note that in our culture, by the book, you always start and end relationships *officially*. Some people do not accept the status of "on and off" or "just sleeping". To some people, you're either continuously in a relationship or you're not! And if you're seen as a cheater, oh man, you'll get into the worst troubles a woman can come up with.

    • @johnsmith-ro2tw
      @johnsmith-ro2tw 6 років тому +2

      To be fair, your comment ("in our culture, by the book, you always start and end relationships officially") applies to people from any country. There is no culture where it is accepted to be cheated on and betrayed. A man who has balls, will be able to face that girlfriend and say : "ok, i think we should end our relationship here". Before moving on to another relationship. This guy in the video has been fooling around, playing with girls. He was looking for troubles.

Next he dumped her. She was not happy , she was hurt, and decided to avenge herself. In other Asian countries they cut the balls of the guys in such situations.

    • @jeygee3736

      Sorry cheating is not acceptable. In fact, it is unaccusable. But guy is not to smart either because at least when it comes to USA passport, the passport is actually government property. He should have called them, been honest and they could have issued a new one or gotten the local police to get it back. That would have been embarrassing to the CCP if a consulate had to be involved to get someone passport back to them, since this woman stole it. in a jealous rage. He might have been deported but he would have saved a bunch of money.

      No blackmail, corruption, or extortion rings in the UK? Really? Odd. I have heard of it. The UK has it but probably on a much smaller scale. Or because of the laws they have found ways to skirt at the edge or do it in dark rooms. Out of the public eye. One of the common ones is with explicit cell phone videos. Some file charges against the extortionist. Some pay up.

      Back in 2004, a schoolboy in Japan was playing soccer and he kicked the ball at a goal placed near a gate. The ball rolled out from the school yard and an 80 year old man on a scooter broke his leg while attempting to avoid it. Soon after, he showed signs of dementia and about 18 months later he died of pneumonia. Unbelievably, the parents of the boy were found liable and were originally ordered to pay 50 million yen (around $460,000). It was later reduced to 15 million yen. The point is, screwed up things indeed happen in Japan. I've also read that if you're driving a car in Japan and you get rear-ended and then subsequently run into another car and it leads to a child's death, you can be held responsible even though there was nothing you could have done to prevent the accident.

    I know a guy who side swipped by a woman on a scooter because a SF driver pulled out from behind a car right in front of her going the wrong way. the guys scooter went down throwing him into the curb where he broke 5 ribs in 7 places, torn his ACL and miniscus. he woke up in the middle of the one way side lane for bikes after the accident. when he took off his helmet, the chinese woman and SF driver took off right away. everyone wanted to move him off the road and he was eventually moved and his scooter was moved as well. the only reason they moved him was he was blocking the traffic. when he turned around after reaching the sidewalk everyone was already gone leaving him there to die like a dog on the side of the road in the winter just before dark. this is china. they do not care for anyone especially foreigners. they will leave you to die and not think anything of it. like I said, they are animals, plain and simple. in fact, they are worse than animals, because an animal would stay with a hurt animal to comfort it and help it as much as it could. not chinese, they have no simpathy, no kindness, no compassion for anyone but those they know and then may be not even them. this happened and the guy is still suffering everyday in pain. he has to walk with a cane and it has been over nine months already. he went to SF to get them to pay for some of the bills and they said they would but then turned their back on him and left him with nothing except intense pain everyday. the thorasic surgeon said his ribs will never stop hurting and his hip has become so painful that he is brought to tears quit often just from walking. china, a place you are playing with your life. they will leave you to die and couldn't care less if you did.

      Yea i would have call my country consulate and told them the women stolen it and have them replace or they deal with the police. Passports are technically the property of the government and not the individual person who is holding it. For example, my USA passport states that this passport property of the USA government and must be turned over by demand. Then list the law number. So, if this guy handled this better, he probably would have been deported but not stuck paying this woman. off. To me this like someone stealing or someone finding your credit card and telling you must pay to get it back. No, you call the credit card company and get a hold on the card so it cannot be used and then report the card stolen. So, this guy is not only a cheater, but he is also not that smart.

    i don't get all the comments, nobody is concerned for the poor girl who was being 2 timed by this jerk. clearly he was cheating on her with this other blonde and after he had his fill of a local girl he just moved on to another. its pretty obvious that this guy is a womanizer and what that girl did was only trying to teach the scumbag a lesson, imagine if this guy was dating your sister or daughter would you approve? guys i think we should see this whole issue not from a east vs west perspective but rather a jerk 2 timing a nice girl and then trying to use social media to justify himself. i request serpentza, pls if possible track down the other girl and her side of the story too, only then should we judge this incident.

    • @nicholoschen
      @nicholoschen 8 років тому +5

      well he got what he deserved, all i'm saying is that u can't just pin this as a china thing, but rather a jerk taking advantage of a girl and then leaving her for another with the mindset that ya i'm a foreighner, wats the worst that can happen? if things get ugly then just pack and leave. he's probably on the look out for another girl where ever he is even now. (btw if this were to happen here in india where i'm from, he'd probably had been cut to pieces by the girls family).

    • @nicholoschen
      @nicholoschen 8 років тому +4

      also tell me, what is the reasonable thing to do here? serpentza is just being a friend to the jerk and letting him play the victim card where as its the other way around. also why is that other girl hidding herself when its mighty clear that she is also party to the whole issue? she clearly knew this guy is seeing someone and still she goes and sleeps with him and tries to act innocent.

    As a gay man in China, I was dating a local guy. We met regularly but he wouldn't commit to a relationship. He always said he would be happy for me if I found someone who wanted a committed relationship. After a year, I did meet someone, and suddenly the first guy wanted a commitment. I said no, and then the threats started. He knew I worked at Wall Street English and wrote to the general complaints/comments addess on the Wall Street website, and said that I was gay, and that I was distributing pornographic photos of myself on the internet. I was out at work, but my boss did tell me that I needed to be discrete. Then he phoned my apartment management and told them I was gay. I had to move. At that point, I fought back, and threatened him. I told him that I knew where he lived and worked and would out him to his family and employer if he continued. This quietened him down, but he then still had the balls to mail me for a year begging for another chance.

So angry woman don't go down the money path, but I do know of three guys who had angry ex's tell the police about their pot stash which resulted in a month is jail, daily questioning and a ¥500,000 (US$4,700) fine with no deportation order. I think this guy made several bad decisions. And just kept making bad decisions all the way. I went to China and lived for 5 years and never got scammed because I always had a plan for this type of situation. You should always be prepared for this type of situation
    First of all.
    1) always have your passport locked in your house.
    2) the moment someone is trying to steal your passport you should contact your consulate
    3) if you are arrested contact your consulate
    4) if attending a police station (contact your consulate)
    5) contact your consulate
    6) contact your consulate
    7) if anything does not feel right (contact consulate)
    when people start harassing you
    8) change phone number
    9) change we chat
    10) abandon your apartment ect.
    all of these things would have avoided this situation. Also he should have made friends with more powerful chinese people, such as police and government officials. ect.
    he became a victim because he was not prepared. He could have been a guy who had a fun time in china, but because he wasn't prepared for this type of situation he got burned big time.
    Hope you have learned a lesson and if you cannot have a plan for dealing with this type of situation it is best you don't come to china to live

Firstly, he could have been sued by his landlord or the other people in his apartment if she did more damage or harmed them. Secondly, there's much to be said for being the one who goes to the cops with a bunch of evidence and witness testimonies, with a trussed up assailant in tow.

But when their relationship went downhill which I assume because he was just playing with her and cheating with her - she decided to go fcking mental and take revenge, and this is where all her family joined in and wanted compensation and turned this all thing into extortion.

    Couple of issues/points with the story
    1. Appartment doors in china are normally heavy / reinforced as such i cant see how a woman would break it in
    2. You have more than one passport, why not get an emergency passport and just leave?
    3. Dont do the dirt and you wont get hurt
    4. Time to find the other girl and get her side of the story!

      1. Not all doors are built this way and a lot are broken from low maintenance.
      2. He did leave. Sometimes your life is so wrapped up in the current things you are doing you dont do what keeps you the safest.
      3. I agree with this
      4. Jealous, vengeful people will do anything to hurt another, especially insecure Chinese women. Her word would of been most likely shit.

    A great video Winston that showed how quickly things can get out of hand when living in a foreign country. I know from experience living in Asea, that as I foreigner I was vulnerable and to the native population I was seen as just a rich white guy. I tend to keep myself to myself and stay away from trouble. What made me vulnerable was that I was not a citizen and was not entitled to the same rights as the native population. Luckily, I stayed out of trouble. This experience was completely different to how I imagined, before traveling.

After she got dumped she decided to avenge herself. If you don't want problem don't date Chinese girl if you don't want to marry her
