My 2003 4.8L Chevy Tahoe, mine thankfully has been well maintained with OEM mechanical and electrical parts (and no parts from O'Reilly or AZ). She's still kicking at 323,000 miles. These vehicles are built like tanks and will last!
Kind of crazy all you spoke about was stuff in the 100point inspection I used to do at the dealer no matter what mileage. I just bought a 2006 Tahoe for $1300 with 250,000 miles on (in 2023 when prices are crazy) just about rust free leak free and problem free clean title the guy just wanted it gone so I’m pretty happy with that purchase
I'm presently on my last Suburban. 2005 8.1 with 270k miles. It's the 5th that I've owned since 1973. The last 3 generations aren't built to last like previous gens. I decided after GM failed to address the brake line problem they weren't getting another dime from me. People have died from the failures and they still claim the problem is road salt vs a change in alloys to save a buck. If you were a lucky owner that encountered this issue early on they replaced them at no cost. Once they realized how many vehicles potentially would be involved they backtracked.
2006 Chevy Tahoe My current issues 1Leaking rear output seal Transmision sends fluid splatter in a large pattern underneath Tahoe. (Video on my page) 2 check engine light large leak detected. 3 brakes seem to be losing original feel. 4 very loud ticking starting it and at idle sometimes.🤦🏻♂️ Things I’ve taken care of as of the last two years or so 1 tires , break pads, rotors, wheel bearings, Rancho shocks in the front/rear differential rebuild. 2 hoses, to and fro the heater core, Radiator upgrade Water pump upgrade Transmision fluid flush Coolant flush. Car washes. Premium gas She drives fine and quiet minus the tick sometimes. Is there a fix for the ticking sound
you basically named all maintence and upkeep items.. not issues, why? because these are bullet proof at least the 2000 tahoe z71 gmt-400 they are tanks built to last and drive like a cadillac
Bought my 2002 Tahoe for my 19th birthday present to myself. 16 years later still running like the day I bought her currently at 184k miles original engine and transmission running strong with cold a/c. Paint shines like new with no fadding wouldn't sell her for anything.
My 2005 tahoe has 307k on it and its still smooth flowing and powerful. I actually just bought it. Been watching alot of your videos on fixing stuff on it. Great video
One thing you missed was the ground straps on the frame one at the front Dr side rite in front of the washer tank and 3 on the Dr side below the back of the Dr seat on the frame. Need to make sure they are clean and good contact between the frame and wire connectors.
I have issues with my 2003 chevy tahoe it's the notorious reduced engine power issue I've had the throttle body changed as well as the tps and even had a full tune up done and added a new ground at this point I don't know what to do please help if you can
I thought you were talking about issues that could happen with Tahoe. It's between 2,000 and 2006. This is true for any car so thanks for the clickbait
I have a 2002 Tahoe with 314,564 miles. It is currently dripping oil at the back of the engine. I’ve had it checked at the service station that I use for my repairs both times I’ve had it checked there and they said they fixed it. First time they tightened up some bolts and it didn’t work, second time they said it was oil pressure sensor which they said they fixed. It is still leaks a guess would be about a teaspoon a day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
I have a Tahoe 025.3 what will give me a problem it won’t crank it’s like gas is not making it to the carburetor I’m Phinne change the filter up on the drivers door could you help me out with other suggestions
I know this is an old comment but FYI, the 02 5.3 doesn't have a carburator. Fuel injection that requires high pressure from the fuel pump. If I were to guess, fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator was the issue.
I have a 2003 GMC Yukon SLT And I'm having problems with it it will start up but it will stay starting up for about three to four weeks then I'll have to let it sit up for a full day then I can start it up the next morning so I need to know what do I need to check or start looking at to see what is going on with it Thank you sir or ma'am have a blessed day and afternoon and evening
Thank you for your informative video of things to check high mileage Tahoe’s. My 2001 Tahoe Z71 is at 260k miles I’m the 2nd owner & got it at 66k in 07. I love my Tahoe, I have what I think is a power steering fluid leak right now….trying to figure it out but haven’t been able to get it on a lift yet to get under it. I’ll never sell or trade her in.

Didn’t know basic maintenance was a reason to call it high mileage issues

Five minutes in, and so far nothing is high mileage related. Just plain old regular maintenance. Disappointed for it been 1A Auto video
+AdrenalineHigh Thanks for the feedback!
man i have a 2000 tahoe z71 that i just got from colorado that blue still with brush guard immaculate condition and completely rust free love it

My current issues

2 check engine light large leak detected.
3 brakes seem to be losing original feel.
4 very loud ticking starting it and at idle sometimes.🤦🏻♂️
Things I’ve taken care of as of the last two years or so

Radiator upgrade
Water pump upgrade
Transmision fluid flush

She drives fine and quiet minus the tick sometimes. Is there a fix for the ticking sound
One thing I’ve found helpful is at your next oil change do 3 quarts of your usual choice of oil then use Lucas oil for the last 2
@@nickbrown3428 it takes 6 quarts… maybe that’s your problem 😅
Add something here check heater hose lines going to firewall

these vehicles are known to rust like crazy
Muchas gracias por los videos saludos desde mexico😀🚙🔧
NEVER CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID IF IT HAS high miles you will drastically shorten the life of the transmission
Not true never flush it. Nothing wrong with changing it and heck if u wanna flush it thats fine to but better change 500 miles after flush
@edward joy and @just joshin ya why is this?

Yup! I’m currently looking to sell my 04 Mustang GT to get me either a 01-06 Tahoe or Yukon
I bought mine and had over 2 years already no problems what so ever just treat yr cars n trucks nice and they will last u ey long time
I had one with 400k miles before the head blew lol. Im looking to get another one right now
Brake lines were terrible on this generation GM truck.
this video is NOT specific to the Tahoe smh. These are things you check on ANY high mileage vehicle smh
Can I have that one!!
Can you please do one on the 07 - 14 tahoes

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
If you are low on brake fluid youre low on brake pads/shoes
Normally if you have a leak you can tell by feel in the pedal

Sounds to me like the alternator might be going out, which the alternator keeps the battery charged up
Get a new starter
What to do if it has trouble starting on cold starts.
Rust belt problems lol
Brake system is weak due to rusted brake lines on this tahoe causing to fully loose brake
380k on my 2005
Thanks!
You guy's are very good at explaining the situation ✌️
Not 1 thing was specific to and particular vehicle
