Liszt totally had the greatest possible symphonic ideal in mind to depict the beautiful, enigmatic, religious, dark and triumphant poem by Hugo, in my opinion, this symphonic poem is one of the greatest pieces ever written, specially by its unique structural and programatic attributes, Liszt was just absolute when it came to programatic music.
I recommend everyone to read the poem and listen to the piece, it's enlightening for any analysis.

Obra insustancial como muchas suyas. Puro efecto y suspenso. A su lado, la sinfonia alpina de Strauss reluce incomparable.

La Sinfonía Alpina de Strauss es un poema sinfónico, y adivina quién inventó el género del poema sinfónico: Liszt. Sin Liszt, la Sinfonía Alpina ni siquiera existiría. Respecto a esta obra, ¿has leído el poema de Victor Hugo en el que está basada la obra? Se me hace que no sabes nada de la obra ni mucho de música, por eso hablas boludeces. De todos modos comparar el primer poema sinfónico de Liszt con la mayor obra de Strauss es tan absurdo como comparar una sinfonía temprana de Mozart con la novena de Beethoven. Si quieres comparar la Sinfonía Alpina con algo de Liszt de la misma envergadura tendrías que compararla con la Sinfonía Fausto de Liszt, que es una obra que anticipa el dodecafonismo, entre otras cosas. Liszt es uno de los compositores más profundos del romanticismo y mucho más influyente e innovador que Strauss, comparando a cada uno con su respectiva época.
