- NOTICE:
This siren spins faster than a normal UK siren, and at this scale finding a motor for it to run at the UK speed wouldn't be easy but if the motor this particular siren is using were to be running off of 50hz or simply just a lower voltage, it would spin at the correct speed. I've completely designed this siren and had some help with British Life Safety Systems for helping me with dimensions on the real thing so it can be made very accurately. I've also had a little bit of help here and there by Edaan and speaking in which, this siren will eventually be sold on minisirens.net/ Stay tuned! The prototyping of this siren is almost completely done but not quite ready yet for when it is sold.

Woahh the Hi-Lo gave me instant broadmoor nostalgia
Heck yes
Sounds like a 3T22! Awesome!
Wow, you even got the correct hi-lo / escape signal damper frequency and the wind-down with the closed dampers! Definitely a telltale characteristic of the CS8 and you really did nail it.
British: Bloody hell is that a klaxon
American: It's A ✨3t22✨
It's does sound like a 3T22 lol 😆

@orlandoarguello9153 no shit sherlock
Lame joke. Its only 10HZ off.
Holy crap I can't believe that a miniature version of my favorite mechanical siren exists now. Once this gets put on sale I'm dropping my cash on one.
Thats good
I’m here

wouldnt expect to see you here
Same too!
Bloody hell well done! Nailed it 15/10!
Dude built well done!!! Sounds like a 3t22! Amazing job1!
Even tho this was posted 2 year ago. I'm impressed. Beutifull work, dude. Full respect.
That's flipping awesome! Great job on this thing!
I am so getting on of these when they start being sold. That's awesome.
it just sounds too perfect.
This thing is sick! This shall belong to my fav playlist.
0:52 if you put it at 2x sounds great
3T22A
Sounds totally awesome!👌
I like this, good stuff SSR&D!!
Finally, a fault free CS8 lol
Sounds Like Siren H
Very True
Yes it does
Sorry bzzt prime you're bzzt kinda breaking up bzzt you must be going through a cave or something looks like it's just you and me starscream
This is incredible!
Came out fantastic!!!
Sounds Amazing
it looks so realistic im gonna by this 100%
Amazing man that's the coolest thing ever!
congrats on 200 subs btw
that's amazing!!
Holy shit, THIS IS AMAZING! Sounds exactly like a 3T22! The wind down is perfect! 10/10! Did you make this yourself or did you get it from edaan.
Made myself.
@Sirens & aviation and more HOW I HAVE NEVER SEEN
@@alfonsgamingtornadosirenfan easy
@@LilThomas2010 .... Thn make it 😎
@@alfonsgamingtornadosirenfan I will make it when I’m 20
This is amazing
Amazing!
That is fantastic!!
When will these be available?
could possibly use something like a motor speed controller or variac to get the right rpm on the rotor for the CS-8’s tones. Otherwise a damn good and functional model
id like to hope i can get one when this goes up for sale!.. i do have an inverter as it is for my cc siren however could get another.. i also have a smaller 50HZ 2810 rpm motor that if i had to could use but not suire :) cant wait till this comes out! :)
Yo That’s Dope!!!
Looks exactly like the old sirens that used to be at the Broadmoor Hospital.
They are these sirens are secomak CS8 or a Klaxton CS8
I love the klaxon CS8
Can you maybe do an update on this siren
It is perfect!
If you ever have a chance, can you create a UK exclusive version with a motor that spins at the right rpm?
Wow this is really well done, what model of motor did you use? I’m struggling to find a double shaft induction motor of a similar size
the moment you pause the video and it still sounds
Holy crap wow i have never seen a mini cs8
Sounds like a beautiful 3t22
the motor spins faster on the US power at 60 hertz but for the UK and the rest of the world the motor will spin slower as the frequency of the electrical power is generated at 50 hertz the bigger sirens use a three phase motor the single phase motors will be a capacitor type.
You think you can make A mini ACA hurricane 130 MKII model with and without solenoids?
If the chopper isn't even spinning that means: The chopper is just spinning so fast that it looks like it's still but blurry.
ITS AMAZE
This is excellent! I would love to have one over here in the UK as soon as they become available, perhaps via a package forwarding service...
If I had a 3D printer, I could potentially supply the UK market of these but I’m spending my money on refurbing my CS6
@Sirens & aviation and more yes that’s correct, check my channel you’ll find it
go to broadmoor they have the best sirens sadly there kinda in the same situation as the tigers
Yeah but sadly cs8 siren when extinct In 2018 Due to getting hit by lightning too much
@@VonnaWasser there are still plenty of CS8’s left plus there is two near me that do Alert, Attack and Hi-Lo
Amazing effort. Is the wind-down being controlled? One would expect something of small dimensions to wind down much quicker unassisted.
Nope! Winddown fully rides with the bearings unassisted.
This is just a suggestion but I was wondering if you could help with edaan to make a coded variant of the cyclone?
Not sure
Amazing! That sounds like 12/15 3T22! What do you use for the chopper?
What's the diameter of the siren rotors?
Nice! Apparently the U.K., in the event of a nuclear attack, would sound sirens like these in a pulse tone rather than hi-lo for the "Gray Warning" which is "fallout expected in an hour". I was wondering if you could wire both of them together to recreate that signal?
@@neth420The Broadmoor CS8 sirens use the hi-lo tone as the patient escape signal. Pulse was not used. As far as I know, any coded siren in the UK such as the CS8 or CS6 would indeed use pulse as the “fallout grey” warning.
Awesome job! What's the dB rating?
is it 3D printed, do you have build plans you can share?
This is a perfect example of what these would’ve sounded like if sold in America. If I buy one of these to ship to America, this is what it would sound like if I converted it to 60hz
Explains the XT22
There is one in the UK that runs on 60HZ for some reason! Heard in the background before the underpowered CS8 winds up ua-cam.com/video/5BiHktH8Pvk/v-deo.html
Still can’t believe this!
Send this to someone with 50hz to sound like the real cs8 other than that AMAZING HOLY
What do you do to time the on and off sequence relays in a control box
I was manually activating them via a toggle switch, I'll see down the road if I could make some sort of controller for them.
wait i got an idea, if someone orders this in a 50hz country, THAT MEANS IT WILL RUN AT THE CORRECT SPEED. so maybe you can add this one onto the shop but make it as 50hz countries only and that it needs a 240 to 120v converter, this could be good.
Did you make this or did you buy it because you bought it I want to know where you bought it
how do you make the wind down slow?
Do you know when this will be released?
i'm planning to build a klaxon cs8 like bench grinder siren
Do you have the STLs to the dampers?
Is it sold? Can you ship it to California? How many it cost? Please ship to long beach California.
Yeah nah I am gonna buy this instead of the 2T22.
They use this for the sirens on broadmoor
It Looks Like An 3t22 awesome 10/10
Good 3T22 17/10 Nice
Can You Make A 240V Model As Well?
HOW DO YOU HAVE POWER TO POWER THIS THING THE ORIGINAL TAKES 410W
“Hey bro, what’s that siren noise?”
“It’s the broadmoor sirens, they test it every monday.”
“It’s tuesday 21st of september!”
“…Bloody hell”
Are you just building one of these and selling it or will these be production built? It would be interesting to try running one of these with a 110V site transformer on 50Hz UK supply, assuming it would be able to run on a split phase without having the casing as ground like with a starter motor.
Edit: I'm also curious to know what an SD10 would sound like on 50Hz.
Oh yes this will eventually be sold under Edaan's Mini Sirens! minisirens.net/ There is currently no window for release of this yet but we'll establish one eventually. The motor on this should definitely run fine off of a 110V @ 50HZ site transformer and run at it's correct speed. It'll come equipped with a junction box that houses the starting capacitor and a plug in supply to run the shutter mechanisms. And yeah an SD-10 running off of 50HZ would definitely have an interesting sound lol
@@ssrd276 Is there just the one that will be sold or are there plans to build more? There looks to be quite a few people in the comments here wanting one.
@@FM60260 We have plans to build more
Am SD-10 or any 9/12 port siren at 50Hz would sound like this very underpowered 15/20 port decot. 15/20 port sounds like 9/12 at lower speeds so that’s why ua-cam.com/video/bl8sOgAhmzA/v-deo.html
Here’s what an ACA Cyclone sounds like on 50hz in the UK ua-cam.com/video/uOV2N39FTGs/v-deo.html
Woah this sounds very close to a 3T22
very well done!! Just make the tone identical then boom!
Can you make a video on how to make one
Bro You HAVE to be able to make a working 3T22 if he made a CS8 with working dampers
Turn it vertical, and it’s practically a 3T22 without horns
You should mount it on a tower where the real cs8s sits at like a mini tower for it!
what about a castle?
THE SECOND ONE WAS LIKE THE BROADMOOR PRISON SIRENS
How did you get and make?
what solenoid model does it use?
So this is where the 3t22 gets its inspiration
Question: when a siren that's coded (ex. 3t22), when the dampers are open, are the solenoids on or off?
The shutters are in the opened position when the solenoid is energized on this particular siren and same with traditional Klaxons/Secomaks. The shutter mechanism on a 3T22 is set up differently compared to this and the shutters are in the closed position when the solenoid is energized.
@@ssrd276 thx
I want one you guys can you make another one please my little brother have not seen a broadmoor siren before and he was looking for it but they were all removed so can you make another one please
You would have to buy it online, these 3d sirens cost about $300-700 according to Edaan
Wear do you get a siren like this at
What store did you get that from?
I wish you added a transformer to the chopper motor to simulate it running on 50Hz, but it still is amazing! Wonder if it is for sale
I'd need a variac to do that but don't have one unfortunately. Very limited on what I could do for that.
Transformers don't change frequency
You would need a special VFD to run this on 50Hz due to this motor type it would be very hard to change frequency, but there is another option! If you use a dimmer switch the newer ones that have a mosfet in them, that would work... sorta.
It practically looks and sounds like a Hornless 3T22.
Where can you buy this?
I NEED THIS!!!!!!
SAME!!!!!
how much will this cost
great video or we can download 3D plans of this CS8 siren?
I dont know.
Why does it sound like a XT22 and i know it’s a 10/12 port
Nvm I have read the description but still cool
Its no way WOW UR FIRST!
finally, a ear deafening system
10/12 port?
It sounds just like a Federal Sign & Signal 2T22A/3T22A with a GE motor
Where did yo buy it
This thing legit sounds like a t22!
The cs8 siren is made by decot Inc
Good job building it how
Did you do that
