You can start Andor. The first season happens before Rebels. Be patient for an Ahsoka resolution. You have a while to wait. For those who saw this live, there was no Siege of Mandalore. It's worth the wait. Every time.
If you’ve already seen the Obi-Wan series, you’ll notice one thing. In Rebels, Ahsoka slashed off the right half of Anakin’s mask, symbolizing that Ahsoka was able to bring back the part of him that was still Anakin for a brief moment before Vader took over again. In the Obi-Wan series, Obi-Wan slashed off the left half of his mask, which is also meant to symbolize that Obi-Wan brought Anakin back for a moment. The voices also symbolize this. This is meant to show that both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were able to bring a part of Anakin back because they were both close allies, but ultimately, neither was enough to do it completely (hence each only cutting off one half of the mask. Who knows, maybe they would have managed to bring him back to the good side if they had both been there at the same moment, and then symbolically the whole mask would have been removed). The only one who ultimately succeeded in bringing him back to the light side was Luke. As his son, Luke had such a strong bond with him that in the end, Anakin returned. Symbolically, in Episode 6, Vader took off his entire mask to be able to see Luke with his own eyes one last time.
My favourite thing about Maul in Clone Wars and Rebels is why he fell to the dark side and how relatable it is. Originally all maul wanted was to be acknowledged by Sidious. Then he found a brother that he could train with. Then he had his special rivalry/obsession with Obi-Wan. Then he tried to recruit Ahsoka. Now he's trying to recruit Ezra. More and more it becomes apparent that Maul is just incredibly lonely. I think his character is such a tragedy. He's easily my favourite character in all of Star Wars just because of how well his character is written throughout all renditions of him. Every time I see him, his presence just steals the scene.
@@digitaladventurer2142 Yeah, I won't go into it further, but when you look everything he's been in, it's pretty clear that his one weakness is that he won't give up on revenge and move on.
Without spoiling anything, the fight between Ahsoka and Vader and what happened will get resolved later on as you keep watching. All questions will be answered. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Actually, rewatch the scene. Kanan blocked mauls saber swing but Karan’s own light saber kicked back hit himself in his bridge of his nose, blinding him… remember, when they released this series an episode of Star Wars, the clone wars season seven wasn’t even made that came out in 2020 years after rebels finished by two years
Another thing that’s interesting. darth sidious and darth maul years before tried to get into this temple.. problem was they didn’t work well enough together to get in.. in comics, I believe
This is some of the best Star Wars ever made. That said, season 3 of rebels continues to get better and season 4 is nothing short of incredible (be prepared to cry)
You can watch Andor any time. Great show. It accurs around the same timeline as Rebels season 2, don't think there are any spoilers. There is one side character who appears in both shows and you can see their progress in the Rebellion. Some of the time between Andor season 1 and Rebels season 3 will hopefully be filled out in Andor season 2. But nothing is really spoiler territory, you already know where they are and how they got there. Just fun to see the details.
For 2 years, Ahsoka was dead. There were debates as to whether we actually SEE her walking away. We didn't know that there would ever be more Ahsoka content, let alone more shows. Gotta admit that it still makes me tear up, even though I've seen it dozens of times. You should check out Dave Filoni with his "Ahsoka lives?" T-shirt. This is easily one of the best battles in all of Star Wars.
Finally! Can't wait to watch. Thanks guys! Definitely the best of Rebels. Also let's give it up for Sam Witwer doing Maul as only he can ❤️🙏 Great reaction!
I’m gonna add my voice to those who r asking for Andor. It is different than any Star Wars out there. For me, it’s the best written, acted, and directed. Think Star Wars meets HBO. It def requires more focus to watch as the writers build tension through subtlety and dialogue. Hope you enjoy
Watching that reunion never gets old, I get chills every single time. Rebels was a mixed show in a lot of ways, but when it's good, it's VERY good. Twilight of the Apprentice holds up against some of the best of Star Wars, I'm looking forward to seeing you appreciate the rest of Rebels.
I’ve been so looking forward to seeing both of your reactions to this since you guys started Rebels!! Absolutely AMAZING arc and finale to the season. Arguably the best finale to any season of a show in Star Wars it just makes you want to jump straight in to Season 3 and find out what happens next. So glad you guys got to experience this for the first time it is truly a masterpiece!
I was looking forward to this, loved your reaction. What i love about this episode is that it hits so much because we have watched the clone wars and rebels, this episode take the 2 shows and merge them into 40 minutes of awsomnes
AH! There we are! Twilight of the Apprentice! One of the most insane finales of all time. There are many things about this episode I really like. Obviously Vader confronting Ahsoka, which was done masterfully. Ahsoka might be a lot stronger than she was during the clone wars, but Anakin, now Vader, is also much more powerful. Ahsoka is fast and agile, but Vader, despite being slower, tires out his opponents with his strength, that's part of what makes him so difficult to fight. Another thing is the re-introduction of Maul, and a small detail I like that Maul mentioned was how "I cannot defeat Vader alone." which is true. Vader is more powerful than Maul, he absolutely is, and it's fun seeing Maul even admitting that. Then we got the introduction and death of the 8th brother, alongside the demise of the 5th brother and 7th sister. There are now 3 fewer Inquisitors in the Empire, let's hope that makes a difference. Now, get ready for season 3, if you think Darth Vader or Grand Moff Tarkin are powerful adversaries against the Rebel alliance, you're about to meet one of the most dangerous opponents the Rebels will ever face. And I cannot wait for you to meet 'em. Hell, I'd even suggest checking out the season 3 trailer, just to get a introduction, buuuut, that COULD possibly spoil SOME aspects of Season 3, so maybe not. Up to you though.
When i saw this episode when it first aired, i said what did i just see... This should have been a movie, it took me back to when i saw the empire strikes back, back in the early 1980's. It sucked waiting for season 3. This was exactly the best episode in my opinion, there is episodes in season 3 and 4 that come close. . You can watch andor, obiwan and solo
This is apex Star Wars. Apex or Apex-adjacent. Even the mysterious Sith battlestation fades from memory next to the character developments. It reminded me a lot of a blackstone fortress from Warhammer 40k and I should be curious about it, but all I can think about is that Maul is back, Ahsoka is missing, Kanen is blind, and Ezra is tuning in to the dark side.
Now you see what all the hype was about! Seasons 3 and 4 are also around this level, consistently great storylines and fantastic visuals. I would start watching Andor as the next SW show. Save the Mandalorian etc until you are at least partway through Season 4 of Rebels or you risk getting spoilers.
I l o v e this. This episode meant the world to me when it first came out. It's amazing to see how both you and Lewis enjoyed it. Thank you for the amazing videos!
Someone did an edit of the anakin/vader part with the slight change in his eye colour from vader to anakin back to vader. edit: the 2003 2d clone wars mini series, should take 1 maybe 2 youtube 'episodes' to get through, well worth the watch.
This episode would be a 10/10 masterpiece but I need to give it a 8/10 because of those ridiculous flying spinning light sabers. Those things are just the worst idea they ever came up with.
FINALLY THE BEST EPISODES OF THE SHOW! Also did you guys catch the Harry Potter reunion on Max yet? Been looking forward to that reaction. And Rogue One. Lewis has to watch Rogue One.
Hey guys! It's been a while. Rebels is without a doubt one of my favorite SW shows, because the character development is "on point", and the stories are top notch! No spoilers (you know me, Kev)... but there are some episodes that will break your heart, and others that will bring you massive joy. I would keep tissues on hand, because there's no shame in shedding a tear over this series. Also, and you know I always say this: Ignore the hate being dropped on The Acolyte. Watch it yourselves, and make up your own mind. I will say that I enjoyed it, but it does have a few flaws. But it's Star Wars, so this is nothing new. But when you get to it, I have a LOT of things to tell you, because I have some personal experience with some of the topics the show touches on. But we'll deal with that when we get to it. 6:15 - Just to put it out there.... Maul is no longer a "Darth". After his defeat by Obi-Wan, he was rejected by Sidious, and cast out of the Sith. He still uses the name Maul, but he lost his "rank" within the Sith. Also, if you remember, the last time we saw him was during the Siege of Mandalore. So there's no telling how long he's been here on Malachore. 17:10 - Is it just me, or does the voice of that "temple" sound familiar? 18:18 - Yes, Kanan is blind now. While Maul was able to blind him with that blow, it could have been way worse had the blow actually landed to Kanan's head. But remember something, part of a Jedi's training involves "Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them." (Anyone who wants to argue that, remember, it was in the FIRST Star Wars movie when Obi-Wan said that to Luke on board the Millennium Falcon) 23:40 - Sorry, Kev & Lewis.... but Kanan is indeed blinded for the rest of his life. I know you said you have the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale left to do, but once that's done, you're going to want to "power through" seasons 3 and 4 of Rebels. Both seasons have some incredibly good stories, and while I won't spoil anything.... you REALLY want to take my advice about the box of tissues being handy. Just... trust me on that. Also (MINOR spoiler), you're going to be introduced to a character that was first created for a trilogy of books that George Lucas himself considered "canon", even though he didn't have anything to do with the writing of the book trilogy. Disney has made the books "Legends" material... but have drawn from them. The books are still available, and IF you have the time, I recommend reading them at some point. The book titles are, "Heir to the Empire", "Dark Force Rising", and "The Last Command". The character I'm referring to is Grand Admiral Thrawn. He is a "Chiss" species, who looks more or less human, except for his blue skin and red eyes. He is HIGHLY intelligent, and a strategic genius. I dare say that he's nearly as cunning as Palpatine. In the series, he is voiced by Lars Mikkelsen, and (another minor spoiler) will also play him in live action in the Ahsoka series. Thrawn is actually terrifying because of his calm demeanor, and willingness to accept a "loss" on his path to an eventual victory. I really think that you guys will both love and hate him for that very reason. He figuratively plays 10 dimensional chess, while his opponents play checkers. 24:20 - Also, and back to "no spoilers".... but there are more episodes that will hit you just as hard as this story did. I won't say when, just that they are coming.
WAtch this, the whole thing because you cannot watch Ashoke without the rest of this. Consider Ashoka Rebels season 5 It will not affect Andor. Watch Andor they have some epic episodes including the final show, it is one of the best pices of video made by star wars.

Andor....yes, please!!
The Change and mix to the Voice actor of Anakin in Clone wars was insane
Completely agree
If you’ve already seen the Obi-Wan series, you’ll notice one thing.
