The percussion always makes me excited that the greatest film of all time, The Red Shoes, is coming on, but it's just old Daddy Dave. That's OK. I'll keep watching ... and listening.

Wasn't the Concert Champetre written with Landowska's super .50 cal Pleyel harpsichord in mind and not some modest 17th century instrument?

Vic Firth was my favourite timpanist. I still have his signature timpani mallets. The Boston Symphony Orchestra under Ozawa was at its best
