- In this video I came to install some bathroom electrics but upon inspection noticed the consumer unit was cracked and unsafe.
I changed the consumer unit and then finally installed the new bathroom accessories i initially came for!
This is not a guide or a how too, it's purely for entertainment purposes.

Why does anybody fit tall RCBOs anymore, reducing the amount of wiring space in the unit? Ah yeah, they’re cheap.
Hi was there a reason why the circuits was not on the RCD any faults before you took the board off?

Oh really? Would you not be bothered about the massive smashed hole in the side of the consumer unit? That was a big problem for us.

Strange set up that board was , any earth faults ?
No it tested really well thankfully. However, I later found out that it was replaced from the old style MEM fuse carrier box by the company fitting the bathroom & electric shower. No record of it however!
Not sure that you won't have a >1mm gap in the top surface stuffing glands. Do you add additional sealant in them?
He will of used a 32mm tails gland or put a tails rubber into a standard 32mm stuffing gland. Either way there’ll be no gap whatsoever.
@@shaneporthouse3175 Not talking about the tails gland as that is on the bottom anyway. He appears to have put more than one cable in some of the 20/25mm glands and I'm not aware of an insert on the market which caters for this. Hence it seems to me they would need additional sealing.
@Terry there is a 25mm gland that allows for 2 x 2.5mm t&e
