Anyways, after seeing this, I went around UA-cam looking for more covers of Blitzkrieg Bop. My result was this: @. They only have four other covers, but it's a band called Citrus just starting out. They're pretty good.

No, you do have to use downstrokes to play the Ramones. And guitar solos are one thing the Ramones were explicitly against, at least when they started.
