I've got His portrait in My attiic as long as I and My children afterwards keep it safe there will always be a Damned...Cap was just born with the Keith Richard gene.
2nd day, ~2:30. This was about as nice as the weather was all day; it only got to about 65 F, but the wind was calm and the sun was warm. The Damned's set was only 45 minutes, but they KILLED it. One of the real treats of the weekend.
Saw these guys a week ago and couldnt believe how amazing they were. Fan for life now! Also cool to see FIDLAR (well 1/2, Max the dude with the red jumper/sweater and his brother Elvis to the left) in the background , a modern punk band watching such a legendary band who paved the way for an incredible Genre they are repping this day in age.
Oh, I'm an older punk and like FIDLAR too. Max and Elvis's dad is Greg Kuehn from TSOL so they're punk rock legacies by default. FIDLAR's 2013 and Too albums are really good.
Superb band,I have loved them since I discovered them at age 13 and I'm 51 and still listen to them every day, Captain sensible is a excellent guitarist and he's very underated and should be recognized alot more for his talent.
Love this song--I got the live version of this from the John Peel session CD--still an ass-kicking song (along with New Rose) today. Good to see that the band is still kicking ass on stage---these old dudes can show the youngsters of today how you do a real live show, lol!
As a rule, most bands lose their edge as they get older, especially punk bands, their live shows get a bit sloppy, they kind of phone it in...people are just happy to see them play, they don't seem to care if they are old and slow....The Damned don't follow this rule...
@@gmantramp404 but the damned have evolved and are still going because they are true musicians.unlike the pistols who are the stage managed x factor type band of the 70s.
@@knightoftherealm3653 I don't really like the Pistols much, but the "they had a Manager that put them together" argument kinda falls apart when you realize that McLaren managed the New York Dolls first..... in other words SO WHAT? Are you willing to extend those sentiments to the NYDs? (Rhetorical question - no one is)
Always be a great guitarist. When they started, Brian James got the songs so he switched to bass. As soon as Brian get out, Captain took his guitar. And shows his chops.
One of the most well aging punk band out there !
Was just thinking what great condition Vainian is in. It really pays to look after yourself in middle age
Vampires, they sound soooo good.
God bless 'em
Vampires
One of the only classic punk bands still around that doesn’t disappoint
So strange seeing Dave in broad daylight - and not catching on fire...😁

lol ah ahah vrai !!! :p
😂😂😂
Sunscreen L'Oreal he's worth it
Modern sun screen is simply just amazing
Sensible is seriously underated as a Rock and Roll guitarist
They deserve the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Legends. Captain Sensible guitar Hero.
65 years old and still setting the stage on fire
Dave is 66 today 🥳
These guys are in shape. They deserve respect. Very enjoyable. Glad to see them.
Dave Vanian GREAT VOICE!
Love the Captain 🎸
love the way he uses his microphone
Are you wet ?
@@Mysterywhiteboy78 Im wet and I'm a straight dude
What a brilliant recording from one my best bands from my youth.
Simply, still the best punk band in the world. New Rose classic and original punk in its purest form 👍🏻

I'm frankly disappointed that Dave isn't hissing and thrashing around on the stage from the sunlight.
They were and are fucking amazing
Pure Class....

Take a close look Fidlar, lessons to be learned here. Though, must admit, they're a pretty damn good band.

Holy shit that's really them. That's so cool.
Just saw them here in Chicago last month opening for Blondie. They put on an amazing show!
Max and Elvis of Fidlar enjoying the show in the background
Wow the lads two banging songs straight after each other ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
Maybe i'm just romanticising the past but this music has way much more heart, guts and quality than today music 😢
Still my fav UK punk band EVER.
Good Lord, almost in better shape than back in the early eighties when I got to know them in London! Music truly keeps the brain young.
Keeps you in shape too. I play drums. I'm 45, people are shocked when I tell them I am not 33

I confirm. I saw them few days ago in Denver. They still put up an excellent show.
Oh Dave...Vanian!
😍😍😍😍
Ni ni ni
A lot of wannabes could learn a thing or two .....
are the guys by the stage from other bands? can anyone recognize them? They seem to know Damned's songs by heart...
How many times did the Damned play " neat neat neat " during their career?
Not enough - love it!
@@Chindit1961 Great answer
Yes.
Devo's "Come Back Johnny"
The captain emulating his hero Jimi..without breaking any teeth this time! they always did wipe the floor with the 'pistols.
But the Pistols released a more iconic album than the Damned.,.

ダムドやぁ〜!!
Anyone else notice max from fidlar in the back there hahahaha
Why does Stu look like a flight attendant?
パンクなのに演奏が上手いとはこれいかに。というかこのジャンルも様式美化してるね。さすがにパンクのオリジネーターだけあって貫禄が違うけど。
Monty's a nutcase
Your point being? lol.
Oh...Still very FASTER!!
English punk at its finest oi oi oi
Nice they haven't all got huge bellies and looking like they got on stage from a 3 day bender
I wish the Captain would get vaxxed. I did, and I'm not magnetic! We need to see the Captain in America!
