I recently acquired an Olympus XZ-1 which was a competitor compact with a similar lens range and a hot shoe! No mic input, really for quality still pics, not video. I am amazed how detailed the images are and the colours are great from its 10MP CCD sensor. I haven't tried a low light situation though, but maybe less MP is better from a small sensor.
Although I feel like I'm a bit of an Olympus Fan Boy, I don't know your camera and I have looked it up, and it looks really nice, and the Olympus optics will make the difference. I think it will be fine in low light with the ISO low, which shouldn't be a problem. Thanks a lot for watching and for your great comment 👍👍
@@MyPhotoJourney Thanks, where are you on Instagram, I couldn't find you? I was looking for a way to send you a couple of XZ-1 pics, you would be impressed!
Thanks for sharing this video ,i sold my canon G7x mk2 last year i really regret selling it ....i cant believe how much the power shot G7x cameras have gone so expensive even 2nd hand ....its very disappointing they never brought out the canon g7x mk4 ....thanks for sharing great video great work
Thanks a lot for watching and for your nice comment. I like this camera and it was an amazing travel camera, and I agree the price of it used is so much. 👍
I had this camera, actually won it just for filling in an online form for the independent newspaper around the time of the camera’s release, it retailed in Curry’s for £385 which was a bargain when you see how much the MKii was on release and the mkiii is more again. It was this camera that got me into photography proper, it’s built in presets, like “Background Defocus”, which of course I came to learn as Bokeh. They are also built like tanks, mine actually fell out of my pocket, under the rear wheel of my extremely heavy Mobility Scooter, so you had the scooter, the rear mounted motor and me, weighing 13 stone at the time, the screen was cracked all over, the flash had popped up and all the metal around it was bent backwards but I managed to get the flash down, bend the metal back to lock the flash down ( I never used it anyway ) and unbelievably it still worked. Unfortunately had it n my pocket not long later when my backpack, containing all bar my 50mm lens, slid down a 10 foot embankment, into a river, with me following behind. You can smash it but water will kill any camera eventually. Though I loved the came
You did amazingly well to get the camera in a competition, and you are right the latest version is so expensive. Sorry to read your stories of woe with the camera, and hopefully you've got working kit now. Thanks a lot for watching and for your interesting comments 👍👍

This camera costs a fortune!!! $750 - $1,250.
Thanks for your comment, they are about £200 in the UK, about $240 maybe. I couldn't find it for sale on B&H though 👍👍
That will be for the latest model, the mkiii

i bought this camera years ago for 350USD, now is twice the price. omg
Wow, they are in such demand. Thanks for watching 👍
is it the same as mk ii and mk iii as far as photo quality?
The newer cameras have updated sensors and processors and you should expect an improvement, though not sure how much. Thanks a lot for watching 👍
What mark is it? Mark ii?
Mark 1, first edition 👍
Terrible long winded review.
Thanks very much for watching and for taking your time to comment 👍
