Well done ! CRazy you manage to get that beach start on such a small wing (Kujira 980 !) I'm currently ok on my dockstarts with the 1440 but struggling with this one on the beachstart...will try again and again ! thanks for sharing !
Thanks for that! Great short video! New to foiling here,, so great to see what is possible, even if I’m a long way from mastery of the many skills related to pumping and flying a foil. 🙂
I just got a foil SUP and it's sooo hard to just balance on in calm water,(my board is 130L too) how long will it take to get used to standing on this thing? I ride my electric unicyle no prob so I'm not a balance challenged person
I just got a sup for down wind and it's definitely challenging. My sup dims are 6'0" x 24" x 115L. I think it's one of those things that seems impossible till it's not. After two sessions of just trying to paddle straight and not fall over, I've improved a lot so keep on trying. Also found that putting the foil further up in the box helps with balance. Might not be great for catching waves but at least you can stand on the board and learn to paddle. Hope this helps!
God bless you, man! How many takes would it take to learn, in your opinion, for someone who NEVER tried foilboard yet? I bet, like a 1,000................ and then a case of beer to kill the pain from bruises and blemishes...
Definitely need experience on the foil or you’ll get hurt for no reason because even if you do get on your board you won’t know how to pump. 😂 I believe in you though! Get after it
As a data point: I'm 40-something learning how to dock start a foil... my surfing experience is riding foamy wash. My first 50 dock starts were an exercise in sprained hip flexors, the worst shin hit I've had, cuts, and almost taking a foil to the face. After that I could at least fail in a predictable and safe-ish manner. I'm at about 200 dock start attempts and just starting to know each of the pieces: get off the dock, get on the board, crank out that first pump with quiet hands in front of you, and try to keep it going. The movements are very specific to this sport.
High quality video and good tips, but unless you are 18 with super abs and hips flexors you don't have a chance. Speaking from experience. This is a very difficult sport to learn. If you are interested in riding a foil, which is really fun, get a wingfoil or windfoil setup.
I’ll be 40 in January and currently learning to beach start. So far my top run has been 6 pumps. Probably would have been easier at 18 but if you put in the time and effort you can definitely get it

“Throw some chakas” 😂😂🤙🏼🤙🏼
It's like that hoverboard from the movie Back to the future, but it can only fly over water
E.T skill!!! 👍👽🇫🇷
Good job man! What's the Mast size and yours please. I struggle with 85cm and 197cm high
I was using a 75cm mast. I’ve tried an 85cm and it’s possible but not as easy.
This is one of the neatest beachstart I have seen. Would be great to add what kind of workout helps to prepare for doing this.
Lots of foiling haha

Haha. maybe should've added a mobility test as one of the requirements.
... deceptive current boost .... sick skills but... only a savant could learn this .... with current advantage..nice explanation 🏄♂️✨

what if you fall in the middle of the sea.. cant start there?
Probably would drown
I used to weigh 85 in my 20 s.
Now 98
Any chance of me doing the same...
My stepson can do that
1st clip...are green suspenders needed ? :)
Not wearing a mankini and lack of MILF sticker on board are the top two reasons people can't learn to beach start.

What size board are you riding?
