I don't know if George ever commented on this bit in any interviews, but to me the whole thing is existential, about the nature of existence...If all of the hatred of the universe could create something better where every uncle Dave is a winner, isn't that something worth hoping for?
I think it's his magnum opus, saw it alone on a rainy night and wow did it hit me. Such a poignant message from a man who spent his whole life communicating and choose ~this~ to say when he knew he was on his way out the door.
I love that when George speaks about it raining for years and being cloudy for longer because that's just life in great Britain and I feel like so many of us can relate to his world views, such a great man for us all to aspire to be. 🙏😇
Sorry about George's comment on Canada! I imagine if all the previous events did occur alot of people from the United States would be moving to Canada 🇨🇦!!
@@colly3333 Exactly. George was 100% empathetic, the audience is supposed to get ~pissed off~ and ~think~. Nobody likes to see people die, not even George. The point is we ~act~ like we enjoy watching people die as a society because we continue to repeat the same fixable mistakes. He turns the mirror on us so we can look and do something about it. Uncle Joe is in all of us, confused with unreasonable selfish desires. It's as if it would take a disaster for us to snap out of it. And it literally might.
Dude on the right seems uncomfortable in his laughter. "Like, should we be laughing? Don't wanna get cancelled. Maybe a half laugh" The latter part of what he said is ha ha lol funny. But beginning is more reflective, "I think I know what you're getting at" funny. Like smile, smirk funny. Think it's best to hear this before, I kinda like it when a lot of people die. Gives a sort balance Audiences were really forgiving then. Dude has legit watched way too many doomsday movies with an overactive imagination.
You're completely missing the point, George is playing a caricature of himself and apathetic ignorant people. He wrote his humor so that anyone could laugh at the low level ideas, but when you pay attention, you realize it's supposed to piss you off and get you to do something. Nobody likes to see people die, not even George. The point is we ~act~ like we enjoy watching people die as a society because we continue to repeat the same mistakes. Uncle Joe is in all of us, confused with unreasonable selfish desires. It's as if it would take a disaster for us to snap out of it. And it literally might.

No need to apologize! It was a good joke by George!
I would not go to Canada. Trudeau is destroying the country. We may have President Brandon, but he's not Turdo!

Carlin is the perfect example of the extreme environmentalists who start hating human beings.
You obviously don't understand the guy. "Take care of yourself. And take care of somebody else." - George Carlin
