4:30 that's the Mini Nightshade. It comes with crossbar lock and thumb stud configuration only. The handle and steel options vary tho. The larger full size Nightshade has the deployment options. Flipper, thumbhole, and studs. Liner-lock only.
That exclusive Elementum got me all excited for a minute! The way the light was reflecting off the edge when it was laying in the table, it kinda looked like a drop point Tanto. I was ready to hunt for one, but the you moved it and my hopes were crushed 😢 for real though, I’m kinda glad you moved it cause I would’ve wasted sooo much time trying to find a knife that probably doesn’t exist
The Civivi Sentinel Strike - as absolutely amazing as that knife is, it's fairly easy to fail the deployment. And it seems that might be due to the fact that Civivi put washers in the blade pivot, rather than bearings. I simply don't understand why they would do that on an $85 knife. I have plenty of $30 knives with bearings that are smoother.
If I didnt just pick up a Mini Arius, I'd have picked up that Kubey. A dude on reddit was saying his got gunked up immediately in his woodworking shop with all the sawdust.
I have the same Titius from the video, same color and everything. For $100, it is superb! Action is fantastic. The target HRC is 60-62 instead of the 58-60 they do in their other 14C28N knives, and you can absolutely tell the difference. Totally changed my opinion on 14C, I wish everyone ran it that hard
Love the video man! Not sure if you’ve noticed this, but the Vision fg has the stop pin in the spot you always complain about lol right behind the edge. Not a big deal as you can just cut in a new choil. Still, great user.
Have you noticed the Vision FG has a little mark on the sharpening/finger choil when it starts to widen up? That's a pretty cool little detail that you don't usually see on most other knives
Budget knives are a tough subject but this is a pretty decent list. Yeah there is a lot of Civivi on here but they just make really good knives for really good prices (mostly)! I need to try out the Vault I love the look of it and I hope they do a premium version of that knife because it just screams class!

I just got the knifecenter exclusive s35vn and carbon fiber scales. I’m not sure if I’m going to go with micarta or original goat scales, but it’s done very well, it’s nicer than my regular version.

I was telling that for me I cannot understand that an edc shoud exceed much than 100.00 unless you have particular needs. You answerd me that I have to strated somewhere. I own some premium knifes. But it's not true that I will use my AC Boa timascus S90 mirror polish as an edc. I would scare to scratch it the firtst day. I cannot afford it😅. A good knife in Nitro V or 14C28N is more than enought for me Insted of sharpening it twice a year it will be 3 times. Does a 300.00 bootle of wine is 3 times better of à 100.00 bootle ? No. You did few comparo with ultra premium knifes against budget one and the difference was close. I love too much my Boa Timacus S90 for a hard use. 😅 Thanks Jared👍🏻

I bought the same kizer drop bear for $65 on ebay, there's a knife center exclusive with blue scales and cpm 20cv for $140. They been had it for some time now.
I would wish for a much larger version of the Kizer Mini Grouper and/or the Vosteed Nightshade. It is a longer wait for knives up here in "China"da but I will likely get the Kizer when available. Very content with the QSP Vault, as it is one of the more stout knives, with a great design. I just need bigger versions of these great folders. 😀 Ok maybe not need per se, but would be glad to have available.
The fit and finish on my pyrite lite is second to no for what i paid for it, $29.99, but i gotta say, i would put it up against most 50 to 70 dollar knives. Thing is solid.
I didn't understand why in the spine test in the Civivi Vision FG only the one with Nitro V didn't fail. I was going to buy this knife, but that test discouraged me a bit; they seem to be inconsistent in strength.
The Zoltan’s has been out of stock for awhile. It is available from someone else but at a higher price. It would be great if you could find out from them when it will be widely available again. I love this knife and want to give some as gifts, but can’t get them.
I ground the flipper tab down so its hidden when open on my Mini Grouper and its SO much better that way. It should have had no flipper tab and a FRONT flipper tab instead IMO. Otherwise its a really cool knife and Im not the biggest dan of that crazy forward lean to blades like Shillen Cutters.
I enjoyed the video and a number of interesting knives, but I feel like the KNAFS Lander 1 (the original liner lock version) should be on this list. D2 or 14C28N available for less than $100. Maybe this list is a little heavy on the fidget factor.
It may be just me, but I look at the knife steel rankings on Larrin Thomas's site, and NItro-V is just not good. It's tough. I will give it that. But the edge holding is no better than 8CR13MoV. They are both a "3" on edge holding. I know that edge retention isn't everything, but it should count for something, right? Even old 440C beats it. Heck, 440A has better edge retention, and no knife reviewer would recommend a 60 dollar plus knife in 440A or 8CR13MoV. Why do NitroV knives get a pass? Is toughness that valuable?
I've had the civvivi odum and elementum. For some reason i break knife tips. Its a thing with me. And they broke faster than others. I really wanted the slim blade for the slicing ability, but it seems im stuck on the overbuilt knives
Budget knives are still under $60 and many of them are extremely good knives. I even have a fixed blade that costs $25 and is better than $130 Esee. So with all due respect I call this list a total gear snobs BS list. P.S. D2 varies from 58 to 63 HRC depending in heat treament. It is an absolute champ of a steel. Just because it costs less does bot mean it is had you (again) gear snob

It absolutely blows my mind how much value Asian manufacturers manage to pack into the tsunami of knife imports. Collecting these inexpensive knives presents a rabbithole where sanity is challanged to its covetous limits. It's intoxicating. The only way to sober up is to buy "American Made", where the price points will calm your happy ass all the way down.

A very overrated knife. It has a lot of disadvantages, ranging from crappy hardening of the steel to a loosely fastened clip. I'm completely disappointed in him.
This isn't personal towards NK, he does a great job. This is an opinion things...I hate the Vision. It's such a boring knife! It gets hyped a lot, yeah it's a good locking system, bla bla bla. I never carry mine because there are a lot of equally good knives out there that are WAY more fun to carry! Take it for what it's worth.
The Drop Bears have ALL gone WAY up in price lately. The Micarta versions (the superior version because smooth ALU scales suck) is _OVER_ $100. Crazy town. Thanks Joe Biden.
I don't know Jared, I love your channel but you have way too many civivi moves on here. The elementum will bend in your hand when you squeeze it. That civivi with the integral back spacer is hideous looking. I like civivi bit for me all of their knives all sort of just look the same.
I've never had my elementum bend in my hand, and I've thoroughly tested it, in fact I even have an edge retention test on it, and civivi are some of the best because they beat most knives in same category in most ways from durability, cutting performance, edge retention, etc..
There is one reason for that. Civivi in budget knife are just hard to beat. And don't say they all look the same. They produce knifes with so différent look. Qubit, Sentinel, Elementum, Stormhowl , etc etc. They make knifes that they directly Come from WE knifes. As customers, we are lucky
@@NeevesKnives Sorry bend may not be the right word. If I pinch grip the elementum (G10 version), I can see the G10 and the metal liners bend but it does spring back. When I grip it tight in my hand I can also feel it bend/spring/give in my hand. For me that is a deal breaker. Bugout and Manix 2 lightweight also do this. The elementum is a nice form factor, it's just a great average knife. It was my very first EDC. Now what I know about knives (but definitely not on your level of course), I think it is far from a best budget is all. Good knife though.

Civivi does use good looking Damascus. But if you get a Civivi in Damascus, make sure it’s the core Damascus. I also like Kansept’s Damascus.

I agree with the OG BL Elementum. My fav button lock in my collection. Makes me want the new RCB BL with the same type of setup.
Just got the CJRB Pyrite XL, all steel version, this week. It's sweet. I think it will satisfy my pyrite craving.

The LW pyrite is stupid good. I just got mine and cant put it down. It just feels so good in the hand than the other versions.

The Hedgehog is a banger for the $. It’s a robust, do-it-all compact EDC knife. Except self defense, but I have that covered.

Yeah I found that out recently it goes dull quickly .. zI did sharpen it very quickly and easily and what a great edge I got,so good.

Hey jerad just wondering why is my bevel really wide at the tip and thin at the heel
I know I'm not Jerad but assuming your angle is consistent while sharpening that would be because it is thicker at the tip than it is at the heel
