- Clockwise was a children's game show, hosted by Darren Day, which appeared on Going Live! on a Saturday morning on BBC1. This particular episode was filmed at Pebble Mill in Birmingham and "stars" yours truly. :) I have been a fan of Orange ever since that day.
i remember this programme
Astonishing :) I'd been waiting for ages for evidence of this show's existence to reappear - amazing for it to be by someone who appeared on it. I remember wanting to be on this but being scared of the gunge machinery, even though it looks a little less intimidating than I remember :)
Taped onto VHS by my proud mum!
@@TheECWay Hah, that’s great - my mum always hated me watching anything where people got mucked up like this :)
@@DavidXNewton Some parents were just clueless killjoys.
@@theradgegadgie6352 Joke’s on her, I was on Double Dare Live when I was 35 :)
One of my old schools, Avon Middle School in Salisbury (which doesn't exist any more) was on this show circa 1990, with contestants from the year below me called Nick and Deanne. I only remember two things about it: Nick got nicknamed "Domestos" by Darren Day (and then looked very upset when I jokingly reminded him about in the playground) for some obscure reason, and Deanne got gunged to hell. Our headmaster gloated hugely about this in assembly the next week.
"It wasn't like some shows, where you get a little splat of gunge on the shoulder or a little smear down the front. She got absolutely Gallons of the stuff, boys and girls."
They were in year six, along with my future wife, and I was in year seven above them, feeling absolutely sick with jealousy and grief that I hadn't got to go, much less compete.
Only two weeks ago I discovered that the same school was on Fun House about three years later.
Thank God Run The Risk launched the following year.
I would have loved to have gone on Double Dare, but I'm not complaining. My orange t-shirt actually fits me now.
Amy & Joseph, Jane & Ian, and Linda & Russell are the three teams on this episode of the British quiz show Clockwise on BBC.
Thanks, Dakota. I should have put more info on really!
That's me on the pink team 😃!
What was the gunge like?
How you doing, Russ? I never became a runner like Peter Elliott, but I did set a new 5km PB at a Park Run the other day (21:09).
Did you ever become a fighter pilot? :)
@@iangrant3615 No but I did become a flight test engineer and worked on military aircraft. So not far off!
@@russdealtry2184 that's amazing! Hope you're happy and doing well. Have a great weekend mate :)
I've been waiting waiting for years for one of these episodes to come up. Thank you so much for this. Do you have any more episodes of this?
I have the grand final from that series, where we crashed and burned as the Pink team. My nerves got the best of me. If I hit 100 subscribers, I'll upload it.
@@TheECWaywould there be any chance of uploading that ep even if you didn't hit 100 subs please? Be great to see it
0:04 I wonder how many times DD flubbed THAT line....
Is that Darren Day?
It sure is. And you would not believe how many takes were required for some of those segments ...
@@TheECWay Oh.
@@ruthbarron625 Apologies for taking a year to reply!
@@TheECWay Never mind.
@@TheECWay Why were there so many takes? Was he a rubbish host?
