Thank you! Yes Iceland has dropped down our list for a revisit because of the high costs!

Most of the portugal southwest coast "costa vincentina" is protected natural park, so you cannot wild camp, only on dedicated camping parks, fines start at 600€ , the best time is after august because summer as passed but still have higher temperatures, you can find some place to hide, authorities are more active during summer, its getting forbidden because people leave garbage, and you see the landscape full of campers. Not everyone leaves it better than it found. @@bendover-bz4bc

Unfortunately, wild camping is not legal in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

@@dennynisevic7848 It's difficult, especially because I don't speak Bosnian. If you look it up online, _most_ sources, including one I really trust, will say that wild camping is forbidden by law in BiH!
Half of these sources say that wild camping is not enforced and it's no problem to just go for it. This _might_ lead to people getting the impression that it's allowed, while it's actually not.
Some rather few sources say that wild camping is not forbidden. I've never heard anyone say that's it's explicitly allowed (see "freedom to roam" or "Allemansrätten", for example). Well, unless they are talking about camping in a biwak or tent while hiking.
I personally know one guy who got fined about 100 EUR for wild camping. But that's only one guy. And he's not sure - maybe there was a sign, maybe it had something to do with mines or whatever.
I've tried to read the law - but to no avail. Auto translation? It's be easier to translate Tamarian! ;)
But I'd love to know the actual law, so that there' something you could produce, should you encounter the police or a ranger while camping.
@metaverrse Spending one night in a car is usually not considered camping and I don't think anyone will be arrested for camping in BiH. What a strange thought...
