This is a spar, not a fight, Fights do happen this way, they are way more violent and each attack is throw with bad intentions. Also a lot of grappling takes place.
You are absolutely right! I practiced Kyokushin for about 17 years and this was one of my pet peeves: holding hands down. A habit as dumb as "hands down" in taekwondo. In a street fight it wouldn't be tolerated. But... the sport version warps the "martial" side of the martial art.
This is just standard kyokushin. No face punching, so keep the guard low to defend the body shots. This isn't a good idea in a real fight, but by Kyokushin standards this is acceptable.
No black belts here, the leg kicks are thrown from too close of a distance, and the leg kicks lack power as well, no chopping into the leg and through it, weird.
That's just what Kyokushin tends to look like lol. They prefer a rather strange style of kicking that basically involves going chest to chest because there are no head punches, and use an odd hybrid of snapping kick and going through. Not saying this is optimal for real fighting, but this is just what Kyokushin Karate is.
Kickboxing comes from full contact or semi contact point fighters who focused on the fighting techniques or Muay Thai techniques. That’s why they look similar.

Hands down the entire time. One left hook and she would have been done. Horrible defense for a black belt expected to be advanced.

@MatthewNguyen-zx3de if that is the case it's a useless martial art.
That girl impressed me. She can take it as well as dish it out.
It’s gotta be hard sparring with those masks on.
If I lived in Taiwan I'd rather learn bajiquan than karate.
Boy is gonna have trouble walking on that left leg tomorrow.
Why use Gloves if you can't punch the face ? Makes no sense.
i would enjoy the fight if there is a commentator than this song.
Interesting fight 😅
Girls can fight too.
Girl can strike!
Is this in the Philippines?
Says Taiwan on the banner, so I'm guessing Taiwan.
@@SlimJim-bw3ib thanks I was also wondering what country this was from.

I think because he's a beginner, one kick could end the match

@@MatthewNguyen-zx3de oh ok, maybe.
Wierd unrealistic fight.
I don’t care what the style is, once they put the gloves on it just looks like kickboxing, and not always a good look either ! 👎

Kyokushin is where you basically learn to tank body shots and pray you don't get hit in the face. You're better off taking up Muay Thai.
