  • Day 14 was from Lordstones to The Lion Inn some 12 miles.
The day began with a leisurely start and it was already getting quite warm. I packed away and headed over to the Lordstones cafe but sadly it didn't open for another 40 minutes and I didn't want to hang around.
So onwards and upwards to Cringle Moor, the viewpoint was spectacular offering views of the valley below and the edges of the Cleveland Hills.
The Wain Stones next presented itself as a bit of a scramble however, they have now fitted National Trail signs which make it much easier to follow the easiest route.
After the 4 ups and associated downs, I was relieved to get to Urra Moor and the relative flatness ahead. It was now hitting up the 20's and I was grateful to the steady breeze and my sun hoodie stopping me from cooking.
Arriving at Bloworth Crossing where the Cleveland Way and C2C part ways I found some flat well manicured grass and plonked myself down for a good rest and a bite to eat.
After lunch it was onwards across the moors and I made excellent time reaching Blakey Moor and my destination for the night, The Lion Inn. I was glad I'd booked a room inside the pub it was pleasantly cool.
Filmed on GoPro Hero 9 and DJI Mini 3. Edited in Filmora 13.
    Music from Epidemic Sounds.
